  • 8mm PX to mp4 that gotta be a hard convertion jaja

  • @leomantles :-) I still have to redo all the videos with the HD conversions that I have. Thanks for posting. Wolfie

  • Wow this is crazy is this a video you made when you where in vietnam?

  • @Vettejocke Yes, I took it with a 8mm Yashica camera I had just bought in the PX. I decided to take it on a Combat Assault to the Song Ve Valley on April 10, 1971 and all my videos were taken by that camera. Wolfie

  • Cool video. I have a fascination with the Vietnam war because my dad was there. He is a vet. But he said he was there in 67-68 I believe. It sucks they made you remove Born to be wild.

  • @thewulfone Tell your Dad hello for me and welcome home. Yes, that song was perfect. Thanks for the posts and hug your Dad for me and thank him for serving his country. Wolfie

  • God bless the NAM Vets. I personally know one of them. I am proud on that.

    Greetings from Germany

  • @jokergermany Greetings to Joker, I was in Minden and Frankfurt once. Enjoyed my German friends and the country. Wolfie

  • God bless all US Vietnam Veterans. Thank you. Thank you. I am visiting the Vietnam memorial wall in DC this summer 2011 God willing. First time and Nervous. I LOVE YOU ALL . . .

BEGLEY, MERLE BROWN, JEAN P. HUMBERT, JON M. MELIN, EDWARD P PILKINGTON, JOSEPH E. SCHOOLMEESTERS, JOE R. SILVA, DOUGLAS A. VARNER and RICHARD M. WARREN. You will find the last 11 on one panel, they died the same day. Thanks for posting and I love your music. Wolfie

  • @WolfieRed1 You got it sir. i never been to DC. it's time. love our NAM vets. you guys have my respect. these names you mentioned. were they from your unit? i will look them up. i hope i'll make it to DC this summer. i would love a pick up ride from a HUEY lol. THANK YOU

  • @PEDROCLASSIC It is an emotional experience whether you were there or not, have a family member or friend on the Wall. Please thank any Vet that you see there. Wolfie

  • And I get to live with you as a VA therapist and 23-year military vet. Where are you and when are you? What is it about today that is so horrible that you have to go back to 'Nam for comfort?

  • Sure Highway 1 stills there. Highway 1 is one of the most busy highways in Nam. I had one day in those cities, heading to Mekong (Can Tho). Wolfie, indeed there are a lot of war sites all over the country. And they trying to recover all temples and pagodas destroyed by the bullets, bombs etc. But everybody is shaking hands, smilling everytime etc. Like I said, its quite easy to travel along the former american bases (very cheap and safe ,rs). Maybe Fire Base Liz is waiting for you! Tks!!! :>)

  • @rveras2009 A good buddy was there in 2002 after serving in 1967. He said the country is beautiful and people very friendly. One day I would like to visit, would do so with great emotion especially for all the Vietnamese people that suffered and those buddies that made it back in a box or with injuries. Thanks for posting. Wolfie

  • Hi Wolfie ! My name is Renato (from Brazil) and all your videos made me decide to visit Vietnam. Man, I can tell you..Was an amazing experience. Vietnam is such good place to visit. Vietnamese people are very, very friendly. I found a lot of Vietnam vets all over the countryside. My trip included Ha Noi, Ha Long, Hue, Hoi An, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Can Tho (Mekong) and Sai Gon (they still call it Sai Gon, not Ho Chi Min, curious, hã?) . Please let me know if you served near these places. Thanks!!

  • @rveras2009 Renato, Vietnam was a beautiful place with some very friendly people. If you traveled on Highway 1 assuming its still there, you would have passed Duc Pho, Mo Duc and up to the coast Chu Lai. These towns were south of Da Nang. Got to go there once or twice, don't recognize the other spots you mention. I hope the remains of all the wars are a distant memory. Thanks for posting and glad you enjoyed your trip. Wolfie

  • @WolfieRed1 If you look at my videos there is a bombed out church off Highway 1 which we passed when they moved us from Duc Pho to LZ Liz or Dragon. Through my videos I have met some guys that were in the same areas, but earlier and they have pictures of the same area and church. Interesting to see if still there. Thanks for info on Vietnam, again some very nice people. Terrible what they got put in between, glad they are having different days. Thanks for Info Renato, best to Brazil. Wolfie

  • Yes I got lucky , we were alternating every 3 weeks off mary ann when they got hit by NVA 3 days before we returned. We were told that during the attack that the ARVN were firing down into our guys from their position above.

  • @kyletango Sometimes there is no explanation for who got it and who didn't. I still carry guilt for why I made it home and others only feet from me got to ride home in a box. Wolfie

  • @WolfieRed1 For many years I thought I was the only one that felt that way. I walked point almost my whole tour and luckily only got light wounds. I guess the guilt just comes with that experience. Alabama B Co. 2/1 196th LIB RVN 70-71

  • @kyletango Hey buddy, its apparently a common problem according to the VA. Glad you came back and we connected. Wolfie

  • LZ Hawk Hill was our rear area, however, we were air mobile so we were moved around to different areas. We took over marine combat role in November of 1970 and our unit was moved to Danang (Camp Perdue).LZ Baldy, Mary Ann, Fire Base Delta on the DMZ, there were alot of LZ's we visited that I cant rememeber their name.

  • @kyletango LZ Mary Ann got hit pretty bad when I was there. Hit hard because one of my high school sweethearts was Mary Ann.

    Thanks brother,

    Wolfie

  • I was with Co. B 2/1 196th Light Infantry Brigade 23rd Division at this time, however, on Easter Sunday 1971 I was on R&R in Sydney.

  • @kyletango Welcome home brother. What LZ were you on, LZ Center? Wolfie

  • i was with co. B 2/1 196th at this time. Brings back memories , some good and some not so good.

  • great video man, thanks for posting and God bless.

  • @roguerader Thanks to you for the kind words. Wolfie

  • Thank you for your service and the video history.

  • @meatloafzombie Thanks to you too. Wolfie

  • Creed, great...anyway, my respect to all soldiers. I can't imagine what it must be like to go to war. I'm humbled. Peace.

  • @jeffdeanable Thanks for the respect for those that served and those that didn't make it back. Wolfie

  • @WolfieRed1 Thanks for the reply, Wolfie. It means a lot to me. There's too much to say and think, to many questions. I just hope you're well. It's really wonderful that someone like yourself is talking to someone like me. Of course, I don't really know much about you, nor do you about me. It's just cool that people can connect to a certain degree. Technology is great. I will try to keep groing up. It's a trickier journey than I expected. Have a good one. Jeff

  • @jeffdeanable I was thinking its wonderful that someone like you is talking to someone like me. Try and grow up with a smile and not take too much serious except the important stuff. Now that's the tough part, what is the tough part? Be humble and the important stuff will work itself out and the good people will seek you out!

  • This is my Daddy...Mark " the animal" Sutlick in Vietnam 1971. Age 22, my heart grows with respect. I love you, Dad

  • Tracy, you Dad is a good friend then and now. I was really glad to get connected with him again, since I left California many years ago. He was a soldier you could count on in a firefight and watching your back. We called him Animal because he was so big and strong. He carried more M60 ammo than 2 guys and it my hero. Wolfie

  • sometimes it is not right to go and hit your neighbor first and give your neighbor a warning not to mess with you...if this is what we are doing then how many people going to hate us, how many country are against us,,,, fighting to gain your freedom is one thing and fighting to conquer is another, democracy or commuism is no different, you guys are just looking at a small point of view,, ever heard of rich man war poor man fight...dont be that poor man

  • Soldiers are heroes. Many fought and gave there lives so us Americans could have the freedom we now have. If you dont think soldiers are heroes, then how do you think our nation was formed? The farmers n townspeople that joined the militia n later became the Continental Army that won our freedom from the tyranny of King George 3 of Britan. Even if Nam was a mistake, the Yanks either enlisted or were drafted up to serve the United States of America. They are great Americans.

  • @rmrooster01 thanks, think Corollatime is living in this country because soldiers have saved it time after time. Just another naive person that doesn't understand how and why we continue to have our liberties. Thanks for posting, Wolfie

  • @rmrooster01 the continental army was formed before the Militia fyi. :)

  • what are you doing in foreign country?

  • Ya know corrall, you're right, we were not heroes. Some of us got drafted, did our time, and came home to simpering twits such as you. When I tend my buddy Vince's grave this month, I'll let him know what you thought of his sensless death the day after Christmas, 1971. Bill - A Co., 159th Avn. Bn, 101st Abn. Div. Door Gunner - 1971

  • @dablueshound thanks for serving your country and watching my back. I grieve your buddy Vince as well as all our buddy's that paid the ultimate price. Soldiers don't pick their wars, but they pay the price. Given the past, US soldiers have rescued whinners all over the world that forget our sacrifices. Sometimes hard to separate the idiots from the deserving, we just do our job! Thanks for posting. Wolfie

  • WolfieRed1 Nice Video my dad is on the video :( i miss him so much dad i love you

    thats my dad 0:30

  • killing one another is not heroes,,,,,,helping one another is called heroes, soldiers are never heroes,,,,, only doctors, firefighters,,,,,farmers, they are the heroes, not soldiers

  • @corollatime So when the Nazis attacked Poland, France, Russia and threatened England and the soldiers defended their countries they are not heros? Yes the doctors that treated the wounded soldiers are hero's, but you have a very sad view of what soldiers have done for this country and the others. No argument about your hero's, just think your comments about soldier heros are naive and outright stupid. Have a nice day. Wolfie

  • @corollatime You are missing the point if you don't think soldier's are helping people . Soldier's do a lot more than fight in a war for the people they are they are there to fight against . Do you not believe that we were in Europe , Vietnam , Africa ect... to " help " our allies . Even in fighting you are helping one another .

  • @corollatime Really? It was doctors, farmers, n townspeople that made up the continental army that fought and many gave there lives for our freedom, the United States of America. Study your history before you rant.

  • respect from France. people in my family fought in indochina (vietnam) in the fifties. It was the same situation you were in. No support from home, hate frome french communists, no budget, few ammo, little material, tough war. Respect to all veterans.

  • Very good video one of the most personal vietnam war videos i have seen. The modern music made it feel like it was filmed last year not in '71. thanks

  • Napalm sticks to kids. Bombs away,,,,,

  • At 2:43 you see a man fly a hat :))

  • bless,m all .its a shame the the president didnt put a wreath on the tumb of the unknown soldier in arlington. what a discrace to all military personel. that guy is a sham of a leader.hes not qualified to be dog catcher i say!get all vets together have a march on washington .and yes bring your toys if you get my drift here.time the public take back our country.ballot box or by whatever means they can enough bullshit is enough.god bless america.

  • @pauldrake2511 Paul, thanks for your comments. I am not a big fan of many things our current President is doing, but after some reaseach I may not fault him for this matter. After research I found past Presidents have not always attended Memorial Day at Arlington. President Reagan, one of my favorite President only attended once in 8 years. Bush missed one or more. Wolfie

  • @Haaggus Thank you for posting, could you be more specfic?

  • @Haaggus wow your a piece of shit show some respect

  • @Haaggus You suck too!

  • So many fine young men lost. So many fine older men lost because of injuries sustained in Vietnam. While I'm so proud of my Dad and his compatriots I'm still saddedned by the tragedies that emanted from Vietnam. I lost my Dad whos was only 56 in 1997. He was an Army Aviator and sprayed his share of Agent Orange. And it seems like everyday it's someone else. To all my Vietnam Vets, thanks for your service to our Nation and WELCOME HOME.

  • @sonofrattler sorry that you lost your father, my father had to sign up for national service in Australia but his number never got called.

  • eu naum qeria tar lá naqele dia

  • Ho chi Minh, Vietnam's communist founder, is a disguting TRAITOR and MURDERER. He was a member of the Third Communist International established in 1919 by Lenin. He gave up Paracel & Spratly archipelagos with large oil resources to Red China. He even ordered to murder his own mistress named Nong thi Xuan when she threatened to disclose her sexual relationship with him since that would destroy his image as a "Father" of Vietnam who "sacrifices" his whole life for Vietnam revolution.

  • I thank God for you all and the sacrifices you made.

  • PRO-COMMUNIST SENATOR "HANOI" JOHN KERRY SUPPORTS BRUTAL COMMUNIST VIETNAM BY KILLING VIETNAM HUMAN RIGHTS ACT 2009 (H.R. 1969) IN THE SENATE.

He considers dirty money and economic ties with Vietnam much more important than human rights values. Consequently, Vietnam, has waged a new crackdown on democracy activists such as Father Nguyen van Ly and lawyers Nguyen van Dai and Le thi Cong Nhan, who were given unfair, harsh sentences of several years in prison for their democracy activities.

  • Great video. Much respect for your service in southeast asia. Semper Fidelis.

    Marines-2004-2008

  • Good video, brother - brought a tear or two to my eyes. Yes, we were young -we were soldiers, rarely gave a second thought to growing old, getting gray and being at this point of retirement in our lives. God, where did the years go?

  • U.S has lost their share of battles in Vietnam. Here's a youtube video to explain it all with real American vets admitting the truth. Just listen to what they had to say especially near the last minute of the video.

  • Nice video. Welcome home brother! My father served 69-70 with the 11th ACR neer Bo Dot. You guys are heros!

    WO1 Roach

  • Amazing footage from a grunt's perspective. Well done! I'll bet riding on one of those Huey's in Vietnam is like cruising in a convertible when the weather is just right.

  • Bless you boys! My dad was in Vietnam August 1970-June 1971 in the A Shau Valley (Camp Evans) with A/506, 101st Airborne. You fellas are my heroes!

  • What a great video. God bless you all for fighting for our country. You will never be forgotten.

  • I want to thank those that commented here, at :44 -:50 WAS my job. Been there did that.

Thank You and May GOD WATCH over and BLESS those that are in the war now.

  • im greatful for all of u who fought in nam and all the other wars.

  • i just want to say that im proud to be in a country that has troops that fight for our country no matter what the cause. i am greatful for every solder that fought for our country in nam and every other war we were in. i love all who fought for our country!!!

  • gayest song you could've picked bro

  • Good stuff.

  • this is the Vietnam I wish Hollywood would get, from all the Vietnam vets I've talked to they have told my that the only movie that comes close to showing what they had to go through was "We Where Soldiers"

With that said I'd like to thank you for putting this video online it does make me feel like you guys where majorly mistreated when you came back.

I hope the US honers you guys the way you deserves.

  • Jericho85, that is my favorite Vietnam era movie too. The rest are all a bunch of crap mostly and don't reflect what 98% of us experienced. Wolfie

  • You guys are heroes.God Bless you and THANKS!!!

  • thanks for sharing your comments with all the soldiers that come here, especially those in Vietnam. As far as those still in uniform I salute you and you carry on the tradition of Americans to serve their country. Wolfie

  • You talk politics if you want. I was there. Saw lots of good people die, and was spit on when I came home. I'll support our troops today till my last breath.

    Old Marine Door Gunner

  • Great to have Old Marines, young Marines and Door Gunners here. Semper Fi Wolfie

  • The US soldiers did a great job and it doesnt matter if the war was right or not. If the war hasnt taken place at that time, none would know how the situation would be to day. The soldiers did the job they were told to do and they did it brave even though the hippies back then had another idea about it. I hope the soldiers that is hurt from that war are well treated today, thats what they deserves.

  • Thanks

  • @WolfieRed1 You are welcome. Democracy is always worth fighting for.

  • @globe255 do u even know wat the american solders in vietnam were fight for?

  • @StasTarasov Oh yes i do they were fighting in Vietnam because they were told to do it- thats what a soldier always will do.

  • @globe255 So true and well said. Thanks for posting. Wolfie

  • stupidest conflict ever? yes

  • Sorry, given the 58,000 that lost their lives and 100,000's that came back disabled hard for me to brand it stupid. Lets just say we now know it was misquided, unfortunately we can't go back and undo it and then see what we would have today. Would someone today say it was stupid for not going in given the possibilities? We will never know, but what I do know is many gave their lives and limbs for their country. Wolfie

  • After the Soviet Union's collapse in 1991, the communist regime in Vietnam switched to its big brother Red China and gave up 720 square miles of territory and 11000 square miles of territorial waters in the Gulf of Tonkin to China for its backup to remain in power in Vietnam. There are ten divisions of more than 100,000 Chinese troops disguised as mine workers in the central highlands, who will repeat another Tiananmen Square massacre in case Vietnamese revolt against the communist regime.

  • TOMP : stupid fabrication for the idoits

  • IT WILL BE VC CTENAR1970; Dull and Mr. who one vietcong criminal of war that killed of form coward enters 1968 the 1975, approximately 150 innocent civilians in the Vietnam of the South. Gentleman and vietcong coward, who was abandoned by government of Hanoi. Ctenar1970 care. The justice of God and blind person, to put the powerful hand of God and. Here one becomes, if here paid.

  • Hey wolfie;....good job, educating the ignorant; thanks to our pussey media and the other half of our generation, that ran away when you & I went over....(and now they are the politicians!).......bh, M-48a3 tank, A-15, A Trp,1/1 Cav, 68-69

  • True, people that "ran" to Canada were cowards but for the people that stayed here, burned draft cards, went to jail -they were the real smart ones. They knew that our government were sending people over there to die -for what? Money. Big Business. Even LBJ knew we couldn't win. The people that protested, many of them wanted the soldiers to come home and they stood up and wouldn't be led to the slaughter like some lambs that don't know any better. Face it, you were duped into going there.

  • Yeah, re-write history!; The NVA were on their knees, until we stopped shooting and left our comrades of South VietNam to fight alone;..>Do remember we were fighting commies all over the world?.....Where were you? The shame of leaving the South to the Reds of the north is the shame we will never be forgiven for!....We were duped?.. You must be one of the cowards who ran away!..You probably want us to run away in the mid-east too?..Get some backbone!

  • junglewalk : Why Americans had to die for the thiefs from corupption rigime of S.Vietnam?

  • we didnt lose vietnam we pulled out people need to get that rigth and they can saying because their where'nt in the jungles day and nigth we will not forget you men and women who were in vietnam

  • Well said SuperBob my new friend. Wolfie

  • Socialist Republic of Vietnam says other wise.

    I tend to agree.

    Pulling out = losing.

  • no one wins in the war

  • yup! they now get to make our sneakers for us at $.25 per hour too. there IS a God and he/she doesn't seem to like atheist socialists either. not at $.25 per hour that is. I Corps 69-70 jerk off Semper Fi

  • well what did we go there to do? and what kind of country are they now?

  • Our government made a decision to stop the spread of communism in Asia. We left and communism took over. I understand the country is still very poor and communist. A sad loss given all the GI's that gave their lives, wounds and their youth. Wolfie

  • There is about 2% communism in the country now, only a certain part of the country is poor others are very high tech

Trust me i grew up there and visit it last christmas

  • @WolfieRed1 actually they doing very well. its economy is growing at a faster rate than china. said to be the next south korea in terms of development.

  • the thing is politions(?) send nice young boys to places to kill the enemy which were not the enemy and basicly get them killed out of all the movies i have seen the best line is .......see all of this it is mearly shaping tomorrow...

  • Didn't we go over there to help them be what they are trying to be now? That would be Post Soviet. Trade, tourism, etc. is helping to change that country from a communist closed society to something better. We should have just let them figure that out.

  • I would like to honor Corporal John Harrison of the British Armed Forces Parachute Regiment who gave his life freeing Stephen Farrell, a reporter with the New York Times in a daring pre-dawn operation on Wednesday. Corporal Harrison demonstrated courage and professionalism in the highest traditions of the British Military. As an American Combat Veteran we Americans have lost a Brother and extend our gratitude, prayers and tears to his family and friends. I salute you Corporal John Harrison.

  • Wow, absolutely amazing footage mate, literally took my breath away. Cant imagine what it would of been like for you guys on the ground there..Even though i'm Australian, thank you for what you did and i hope you live a happy life you deserve mate.

    -James

  • James, we can always count on the Aussies when there is a fight and you should always count of us the same way. You have a great country and people. Missed a great opportunity to come down there and experience Down Under. My loss. Wolfie

  • I was discharged 23 April 1971 USMC E-4 , 4 of the longest years of my life, there were times i wished I would have stayed, if i would have stayed, i wouldn't have had 3 of the most beautiful children and 3 great kids, life is so short.

  • Semper Fi my brother. Sounds like the results are very clear and YOU and your family WIN. Thanks for serving your country and thanks for being a dad, tell them to contact me, I'll tell them to hug their hero American Dad. Wolfie

  • This some really interesting footage.

    Thaks for sharing!!

  • Thanks for sharing and thanks for........well, just thanks.

  • Well, just I get it and thanks. Wolfie

  • Well thanks to you too. Wolfie

  • im british and i have the upmost respect for this war, vietcong were willing to sacrivice 10 to every 1 american, you just cant beat that

  • I am US and I have the utmost respect and appreciation for Britain and the wonderful people I have met from your country. I spent a couple of days in London and Bournemouth, wanted to spend a month. We had a great time, it was exactly what I expected. No it was better than I expected. Wolfie

  • You mean the same US that helped keep you from having to speak German? You must be a little weasel 18 year old, most older British would never make statement like yours. And also most British I know, know how to speak and spell the King's English. You must have missed most of school and your history lessons I guess? Jealously has a way of making people look stupid, go to the head of the class young man. Wolfie

  • He is just a punk.....dont bother......they almos got they butt kicked by some third world country and he tells you that America suxs?....if it was not for the american satelites......the probably lost not 8....but 20 ships....if not the war in 82.

  • Fuerzacocopadre, I think his head is something that sits on his shoulders and neck, not the holder of a brain. Oh well, its probably a good place to hold his car keys so he doesn't loose them? Wolfie

  • Wolfie, I was going to torque off on this guy, but you said everything I needed to say. Thanks for that, the video, and the fighting. You're why jerks like this are allowed to be jerks. In a way, he underlines what a good job you and others have done. He's just too dumb to know it.

  • bartlatimer, thanks, morons like this need to find something else to do, making stupid statements like this demeans Stupid. Wolfie

  • @WolfieRed1 it's the queen's english

  • bet your a Russian with all those people sent to Afghanistan and Chechnya and for what? to get slaughtered

  • Americas still cleaner than where your mother shat you out...Bitch.

  • Just in case you don't know.... Only in America, can you write c**p like this and be safe..Sadam killed his opponents. One was hung out side his store with ears cut off and in front of his family.

    God Bless America

  • So true, thanks for posting. Wolfie

  • Man, thank you for serving are country. I have A LOT of respect for you Veterans. God bless

  • I remember seeing this piece of footage where a US army sergeant and his squad are attacked by a vietnamese sniper. It's some time ago I saw this footage but still remember it very clearly. Can't find it on youtube, it's probably too graphic for youtube.

  • Sorry you had to go through it all! I have respect for the young troops, but unfortunately not the Government for sending them! But thankyou and God bless.

  • Crazy Ass Dude. Thanks. Love you brother...

  • semper fi bro. did they have the 203 in Vietnam? i though it was only the 79?

  • Yup, I carried one for about 2 months. Then was asked to be RTO, more weight to carry. I talked to an Lt. in Bravo Co. who had his whole platoon carry 203's. Even the Lt. carried a 203, about 1 or 2months after I got in country (Oct. 1970), they switched all the 79's for 203's

    Semper Fi Bro. Wolfie

  • thank you for everything.

  • Thank you for thanking me. :-) Wolfie

  • By the way forgot to say getting all his men 203's got him in trouble with higher ups, but man he had some awesome firepower. Told me he never lost a man, when the other side knows your ready to kick ass they go after the weaker ones.

  • thats true. i can just see 20 or more 203s firing a small area. BOOM!

  • Yup, there 71-72, certainly appreciated the M-203. I could light it up (flares) or blow it up (HE). Makes one hell of a projectile also, went right thru the guy Then blew

  • You are so right. Thanks for posting. Wolfie

  • Amazing video, ik have such respect for the young men who had to serve over there far away from home. I wonder what was harder, fighting over there or being disrespected back home. guess only the men who served there have an answer. Just know that I respect you very much, greatings from the Netherlands.

  • fantastic video, from your friend across the pond :)

  • Thanks man, your friend from across the pond. Wolfie

  • Looks like I Corp. I ran around there in '71 with 2/17 Air Cav. Those were the days. No regrets.
