its a cirrus cloud above that cloud and the light source is the SUN. Remmember, that cloud you are seeing is a VERTICALLY developed cloud and the altitude of the while cloud is higher. So in the evening, the lower cloud might not have been lit up by the sun but the higher level cloud did, and that just reflected down to the ground, showing creating a strange look.

The ORANGE cloud is actually an ice crystal cloud which is lower than the white cloud so its orange because the sun is not direct.:)

Oooh - Pileus clouds. Very pretty and completely natural. Iridescent as the ice crystals are all of the same size having formed at about the same time, when the thunderhead shoved up the layers of air above them causing cooling (adiabatic cooling) and causing the ice crystals to form.

Well, it's not that complicated, the sun just "hid behind" the cloud, so the top is lightened and the spaghetti-shaped clouds at the top around the cloud are so high they're made of ice, so it works as a prism and makes the rainbow effect. But it's rare and beautiful though!

This is a really beautiful shot of a back-lit Cumulonimbus cloud tower, with a Pileus cloud halo. When the light angle is just right, the ice crystals (which are bascially small pisms) in the pileus cloud refract light in every color of the rainbow.

Look to science before you look to superstition or paranoia life becomes a bit easier :)
