  • I love ringos outfit and his badass house

  • The irony is the one guy who didn't want to try it was the one who ended up on television. By the time Paul took it once John and George had done it many times. It's a shame Lennon didn't survive because the other three all "repented" their drug use by the 1990s - Lennon didn't repent ****

  • @OroborusFMA

Paul openly advocates the decriminalisation of cannabis and always will. Harrison credited LSD with spiritually attuning him which is something he never would have repented if he'd lived to be 100, and that goes for 99% of people who have taken it. They might have regretted taking coke, but don't we all? It turns people into wankers. Cannabis, Psilocybin and LSD are powerful and positive tools and I doubt any of The Beatles would have regretted taking them, let alone "repented".

  • Ringo at 4:12 Hahahaha

  • "The Beatles were so fucking high they let Ringo sing a few tunes". - Bill Hicks

  • paul was so hot in that interview. cocky son of a b, but that was the height of his career, so i forgive him, lol. as for the later interview, he used to always wear those "henley" shirts, but doesn't anymore :( they looked so good on him.

  • Hahaha I love Ringo and his deadpan humor.

  • "drugs didn't work for the beatles while recording." -This says a lot

  • I just LOVE these four junkies!! :D

  • I like the way that RIngo clears up that was not the drugs what gave the Beatles the inspiration for their work, and actually it just complicated.

  • The Beatles make me want to take drugs :\

maruijana while listening to their music.

  • @276Smiley I smoke pot and have been offered LSD (which I turned down) and I'm only 15. But it wasn't through the Beatles, it just happened :P

  • @276Smiley its unbeatable

  • People are afraid of LSD in the same way that cavemen were afraid of fire. It's a natural reaction and soon we will come to see its benefits. Think for yourself, question authority.

  • 00:54 Lmao I read about that in The Beatles sound engineer, Geoff Emerick's book. He said George Martin was so naive about it and he said he'd take John for a breath of fresh air. Then two minutes later he comes back with out John. The other three asked where he was and he said he left him up on the roof looking at the stars. He then said that as if it was rehearsed Paul and George went back to what they were doing before exchanging perfectly timed looks and ran up the stairs to fetch John.

  • Theres such a profound difference between people who try a drug to exerience it, and an addict.

  • some Revolver, Rubber soul and lots of Sgt Peppers

  • Does anybody know when Paul had his first LSD trip? i cant find any info on it

  • @Alipollie his dentist put it in everyone's coffee at a dinner, no joke Google it Lol

  • @Bradley487 no man, that was only George and John. Paul didnt try it until like 66 or 67, but i just want to know exactly when

  • I once forgot all the meticulousness of life and overlooked the necessity of living consciously. This was before I smoked some pot and realized just how real everything is. It sounds ridiculous; it sounds abstract; but it really is true. "Gateway drug" my ass, it's an epiphany drug - at least for me.

  • Why does it look like Paul is wearing make-up?

  • Its so funny that everytime paul ends a sentence he says "ya know"

  • @sk8orfckindie

It's what all scousers of that generation say kid.

  • W.e weed trips are better: Trippy and not life-threatening :)

  • I<3LSD

  • I know its bad to take drugs but I think that it's was great of Paul to just come out and say they did do and didn't lie about it. I think it takes alot a courage to do something like that

  • I love rock and punk music. At first I thought the beatles were just a little pussy band , but I watched a three hour long special on BBC and realised not only was the music good but at their time they would have been outcast which would mean they were doing their own thing which that's what makes a good rock band

  • I laughed for about an hour after Ringo said "the music we made is absolutely shit" xD Oh ringo and his ringoness......

  • also do not forget that the Beatles were repeatedly, constantly taken advantage of by others, including peddlers of drugs, their supposed "friends", not unlike Elvis etc. This is the sinister and morbid aspect of the art scene i think

  • taking weed or lsd should be a personal choice in life, its not for everyone,

However not all drugs are so forgiving, like smack and crack n meth,

Weed and lsd doesnt hurt anyone.

  • I've done LSD im 15. I think its over rated, if you take like 10+ hits then thats when everythings to wild, but you can go on with your day by taking 3 or 4 hits. The hole experience is great overall though.

And I do love the beatles but I did not take LSD just because the beatles did, it was my personal decision.

  • @Hockeyplaya4567890 YOu had some pretty shitty acid.

  • 2:30

    AMAZING answer! really well put/said!!

  • Substances should not BECOME you you should NEVER become Lysergic Acid. It should become you of all things. You should KING it. Crown IT's ass. of all. Control it. With mind.

  • Do LSD

  • Children, go to sleep.

  • 'But whenever we'd overdid our intake. The music we'd made was absolutely shit.'

ROFL Definitely holds true for the Stones as well!!

  • Of corse their songs were about drugs. They just had to dress them up a little to get past the BBC

  • so was lucy in the sky about drugs?

  • @chilibro no, it was about a painting that John Lennon's son Julian made. Julian had done the painting in school and it was about a girl in his class that he liked at the time named Lucy.

  • @STARRISON1 are you positive about this (i just wanna make sure i have my facts straight)

  • @chilibro Yes I'm positive ^^

in fact, you can even find on the internet pictures of the painting Julian did that inspired the song.

  • GEORGES BOMBER JACKET!!!!!

  • the big problems are the people that did drugs but are clean now.

I´m glad for you that u are clean now but, the most of them tell that drugs are the baddest thing on the world.

Drugs can kill u they can destroy your hole world youre family and friends, if

and only if you don´t responsibly with drugs.

LSD and SHROOMS and other psychedelic drugs are one of the most beauty things i ever saw you can travel in youre own brain and see incredible things.

    Think about it

    SPHINXxX

  • EPIC HANDLEBAR MOUSTACHE

  • I like the way that Paul pwned that reporter haha.

  • Whether they took drugs too much or not. is irrelevant..their music was superb!!!!

  • paul actually makes a clever point in his earlier interview about lsd when he says that its up to the journalists to spread the news. i love these guys no matter what. thares nothing wrong to try and experience new thing in life as long as you dont become addicted or they dont affect your life. thats my opinion but as for me i never tried them and i dunnot wanna try them. thats the way i feel for now.

  • check the link in the description

  • we took a little, best ringo line ever

  • @katie6o4 That's not George, that's Paul

  • A common misconception is that LSD improves creativity. It actually damages that part of the brain. They were inspired by drugs, it didn't help them directly.

Also, the sessions Ringo and his ridiculous beard were talking about= Carnival of Light, maybe?

  • @whatblah43 Yea I mean you either lie or tell the truth and Paul was an honest person. Besides if he would have lied, the press would have still put something in there. It happens all the time. No I didn't take drugs. They think that you'de be lying, spread rumors, and one way or another it would end up out there for everyone to read.

  • I love Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band, but I know and you can't really blame them though. it was the thing back in those days all bands no matter who took drugs, so don't go off about omg Paul Mccartney took drugs or George and the rest did this. It's not a mystery. Further more it doesn't matter anymore. The press just has to make peoples lives harder. Am I srry that they did, of course. I don't support drugs one bit.

  • its a personal choice wether or not to do drugs no government has the right to tell you that its morally wrong to seek an altered state of consousness human beings have been doing that the whole time weve been here but anyway just enjoy the music its great wether your high or not

  • Paul owned the reporter

  • @SpaniardGamer lololol he really did.

  • Ringo cracked me up at 4:00! haha

  • @stuco I cracked up at 4:22: "the music we made was absolutely shit" whenever they "overdid their intake."

  • @wannawatchu66 "And Your Bird Can Sing" take 2 (which is on Anthology 2) is a good example...

  • @NyeTunes I have that anthology...I'll have to give it another listen. Thanks for the heads up!

  • True artists don't need drugs to inspire imagination or creativity. In fact the majority of their personal issues evolve around how to separate overly active eccentric thoughts from every day life situations and to incorporate these ideas into their work. At times The Beatles were brilliant but the truth of the matter is their ideas were only influenced by the movement surrounding them. Experimental bands such as Pere Ubu, SPK and most of the minimal/cold wave acts are genuine insanity

  • i had marshmallow pies with looking glas peopl ethis morning for Brunch

  • I disagree with drug use...but it was a different time and place at time...also even Paul today says he doesn't do drugs and more...and the hard drugs can kill you...not worth it......still they made great music and hopefully now they can state a positive message "hey we did drugs yes..but doesn't mean it was a good thing..or that its worth it!"

  • @abrblambee I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU.

  • i want LSD too

  • God, some of these people. Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds was Not about the drug LSD. John Lennon's son Julian came home from preschool one day with a picture from art with his friend named Lucy who was flying in the sky with diamonds!

  • You're right, it's about time some one said this, it had nothing to do with LSD, nothing. The Newspaper taxis, & rocking horse people eating marshmallow pie, no correlation.

  • I don't support drugs. Even George said, 'Well they all kill you in the end." I really wish they hadn't taken it, but they weren't angels now, were they? And we (the fans) just accept them the way they are, acid trips and all. Wish they didn't do it, but there's nothing I can do because I can't go back into the past and rip the drugs out of their hands, so I'm just going to enjoy the music they made and leave it at that.

  • actually if they didn't take those acid trips, we wouldnt hear some of the music that we hear today by them, that was inspired by those acid trips

  • @acidinurmind I know but I would'nt ask for Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds and stuff in exchange for their brains getting messed up by LSD. Personal opinion, if you like drugs then you do what you gotta do, it's just they're pretty bad for you and I hated losing family members to it.

  • @stephkills but look at ringo and paul, there fine now because they never were drug abusers, they just did drugs for fun, it was in the time of the sixties. into the late beatles and after the beatles, they all grew out of the drugs, sure they probly smoked pot a few times after but thats not a serious drug. harrison said, smokin pot is like havin a beer, not rly a big deal

  • Paul never really did the drugs that much. They'd both probably look better if they hadn't done it at all. I just really don't think it's good for you, but you know, if you like it then just do what you have to do. It just really kills you in the end.

  • paul did it more then you think, let it be was a song he wrote on an acid trip, but again, they grew out of it. its people like jim morrison and jimi hendrix that die because they are addicted to the drugs and they abuse them

  • @persbol Yeah thank God they stopped... Didn't know that about let it be, wow. I'm glad they stopped, because I'm really reluctant to let Paul and Ringo go :D RIP Jim and Jimi (Rock In Peace) :)

  • Didn't Paul do cocaine....?

  • Paul was a goody boy, it took 18 months for George and John to persuade him to do acid, he smoked weed though

  • Paul was on cocaine at the time and speedballs.

  • bollocks!

  • yea and he also had the least drug problems in his life out of the 4 of them

  • @airnsmke yet he had the worst...was probably a factor that lead to the break up of the band..

  • @Marshmallowwalruspie I don't think so... pretty sure he stayed away from the scary stuff like cocaine and heroin. I think he said it in an interview somewhere... not sure where tho :D

  • @stephkills he did concaine but did not do heroin..and after a year of cocaine he stopped cause he realized it could kill him...and it was not worth it

  • chill out it was just a bit of weed, mushrooms and acid. its not like they were pete doherty like, hes just a waste of space.

  • @stephkills I know. : ) I lost 3 family members who started smoking pot in high school and ended up going on to bigger drugs. Oh and they're all dead. Some people shouldn't even try it if they have a history of addicts because you could be one too. Its a gene. Paul, John, George and Ringo were all very lucky.

  • @back2realitygal11 Haha thank you. Would you believe you're the first supporter I've had when I say I don't like drugs. So far all I've gotten are hate comments like 'LSD RULES IDIOT' and all kinds of stupid stuff. Seriously, I put up one comment and I got a flood of hate for saying my opinion :P Whatever. As I said, you're the first so thanks :D I still love the Beatles despite their drug use, because really it's none of my business. Actually going to see Paul in concert in June :D

  • @stephkills hahaha noo problem. And all those retards have no idea what they're talking about. Drugs are gay. I'm also Beatles obsessed and think to myself everyday why I couldnt be a 20 year old back then and marry John Lennon. :Dand HELL YES you're seeing Paul in concert! I saw him too actually in April for his Miami show. During spring break. All I can say to you is be prepared. : ) it wasSUCH a kick-ass show.I was crying the whole time. Especially when he sang "Hey Jude" and Yesteterday":)

  • @back2realitygal11 Haha crying? Is he really that bad? Lol just kidding, I'll probably sing along with every song and make a total fool out of myself. One of my greatest regrets is not being born in the forties next door to one of the Beatles :D

  • @stephkills Umm exactly... I would have enjoyed some John Lennon action. xD I hope you like the concert as I'm sure you will. : )

  • @back2realitygal11 Haha thanks :D

  • @acidinurmind True, I just don't support it. Again though, I can't really do anything about it, so I'll just enjoy the music.

  • @acidinurmind "Got to Get You Into My Life" and "Good Day Sunshine" are good examples of that according to Paul himself. Actually John said that "Got to Get You Into My Life" was one of the best songs Paul had written; but, of course, always INSPIRED by those trips as you say, and not MEANWHILE those trips as many people think.

  • @stephkills

you dont support drugs cause you havent experienced them, say psychedelics. im sure you dont support sexual activity either ;)

  • @alliant I know someone who relied on psychedelic drugs to "live", and she turned into a fucking blathering moron.

  • @NyeTunes

if she truly turned into a 'fucking blathering moron', then she was that to begin with. otherwise she probably just never told any of the interesting shit in her head to you. you've NEVER experienced the beautiful experiences psychedelics can provide - all with the direction of your mind of course. hell, you've NEVER even experienced the atrocious bad trips. you don't know nothing. you're just put off by drug culture cause your girlfriend blew a drug dealer once or something.

  • @alliant Okay I'm really sorry, but I'm going to be blunt. I thought this was over a month ago. You support getting high, I like to keep my feet planted on the ground. And if you mean sexual activity as in between people who aren't even married or still minors then no I don't support it. My opinion. I really wish I could just let this be because honestly, I'm getting tired of continuing this argument so please stop because I'm getting sick of saying the same thing over and over.

  • @stephkills are you out of it?? if they hadnt taken acid and shrooms and stuff, we wouldnt have sooo much music, the best of theirs in my opinion, ea the majical mistery tour.

  • @rEptiLeKitChen Okayyyy, well that's your opinion. I've had so many people in my life screwed up because of crud like drinking and smoking and drugs. Did I ever say I hated the Beatles? NO! I love them, very very much. I just didn't agree with some of the things they did. Come on, the last comment I made on this was a month ago. Can't everyone just accept my opinion and then go get high or whatever it is pro drug people do? Please, I'm so sick of this. Not taking it back though, so there :P

  • @stephkills sir, you misunderstand. i am not pro drug. i just beleive that in some cases some "drugs" can bring out amazing things in people, any drug you take to escape, or to numb or dull, can never be good. but if you use sertain drugs to open and expand your mind, then yes i am pro mind-opening. if doen in the rightn mind set, not "lets get fucked up!" but in a spiritual sense LSD, shrooms, Peyote.

  • @rEptiLeKitChen Ah well that's your opinion. Sorry if I was harsh, but you wouldn't believe how many hate comments I got for saying I don't like drugs. I don't even know how many months it was since I wrote that first comment, but I still get people replying. You know, I've only gotten one person who agreed with me out of I don't know how many people? By the way, I'm not a sir, I'm a miss. My cousin made up my username, maybe you were mislead, happens often unfortunately :D

  • @stephkills i see miss

  • @stephkills

You are an idiot. Who gives a toss.

  • @Carthsgtr And a Merry Christmas to you too <3

  • you have been brainwashed. drugs are good. all but cocaine and heroin

  • @JudithTheJewish Thanks, it's not everyday I'm told I'm brainwashed for staying sober :) Just as a precaution, sorry if you're not like this, but could you not pursue a debate? People keep replying to me over this and to be honest I'm getting a little tired of it, no offense to you.

  • LSD is nothing but good healthy vitamins.

And the only reason the government destroyed the LSD industry is because it was making people too smart, too spiritual, too aware of truth, too involved with love and the holy spirit.

LSD could save the planet, but looks like first we're gonna have to destroy the governments of liar nations.

  • LSD is cool every now and then, but extensive use will make you go completely insane, lsd fucks with you head real bad

  • @skint0n0minted

    that's not true.

some of the smartest nicest people i've ever met ate LSD every single day for decades.

    nothing wrong with them.

actually there is something right with them.

too bad you can't even find lsd anymore.

  • I don't believe you. Yes it is LSD destroyed Syd Barrett he went insane from it and developed Schizophrenia. Hendrix as well was very ill mentally when he died. You can still get acid it's just not as common. Seeing dragons and thinking you might be dead is not a healthy thing to do everyday and eventually it will make you go mental.

  • Well, to much lsd, Probly well turn your retarded, not saying lsd is bad, but am pretty sure, u shouldn't do to much.

  • @beatlesfan641

I don't know if you know which albums were the pot and lsd albums but they are so much more brilliant and extrordinary then the first albums. If you havent realised this your an idiot. so called "beatlesfan". haha.

  • @beatlesfan641 Well you better be joking about that... so-called beatles fan... wat is that!!!! you little bastard

  • @beatlesfan641 I agree that forcing someone to take drugs is wrong but taking them for yourself is not.. You have that freedom to injest whatever the hell you want.

  • pause at 1:53....he looks HAWT!

  • LSD is massively non-addictive and non harmful. It can give you a bad trip though. Or a good one. Around 80% of people I know are glad they tried it. The other 20% aren't.

  • @CyberDeadly what i never hear people say is that you can have a really bad time on alcohol or weed or any drug

  • Everyone saying LSD is fun. Don't take it just because the Beatles did. They did not intend for that. They don't want to encourage people to do drugs. Don't do drugs! The high is only temporary then it wares off besides it makes you crazy! Trust me. I know from experience.

  • @Casey5693 ok so that made you crazy but here you are talking all sensible stuff...it didnt really make you crazy not even temporarily..i know from experience that its like a whole new world...I am not gonna encourage or discourage anyone to take drugs or to leave it..All i am going to say is that LSD is one of the best things out there and it made my life better than anything... That is all =D

  • @Casey5693 weed didnt make me crazy but thats probably because its not a drug its a plant

  • @Casey5693 It makes you crazy that is your own mind. The world was created using the mind. The mind is the most powerful thing of all. Because it made you demented is your own minds lack of evolution. All being high should be is a layer on your soul to help you see through evolution. You have no idea what you are talking about. Go and power meditate. There are different spiritual ""substances" that build up within the mind that contrast reality. The only way to by pass that is power meditation

  • @Casey5693 after months of use you still halucinate alitte right?

  • 4:19

  • what if that was the only audio from ringo for the anthology

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOW

  • whats up with the "WOW" thing?

  • Ringo did say that they had to re-record the music they made while they were high. So, I don't think he's talking about any music we ever heard.

PS - LSD is loads of fun. Just don't try to record an album on it.

  • WOW

  • HOLY WOW

  • Did they make strawberry fields forever when they were high? Its just sounds like it. But, i still like the song lol

    lsd sounds kind of fun.

  • It is fun.

  • oh man its fuckin, sorry for the language, AMAZING!!!

try it with someone with experience...that is ifyou can buy it from someone.

  • omg WOW once again... Ringo at the end saying the music they made was shit made my jaw drop... WOW

  • I don't think he was saying the music they made was sh1t, he was saying when their intake was too much the music came out like sh1t. Meaning if they were all f-ed up on drugs it sounded like crap.

  • super big WOW even again more

  • i want some lsd... :p

  • @TheMexicanBull Then go get some tiger =D do whatever your heart desires..Do not wait around for ppl to tell you all the senseless bs about how itz bad and stuff..Just do whatever you think is the best..Whether 'the BEST experience of a lifetime' is worth taking LSD or not..is upto you =D

  • WOW even again more

  • WOW even again

  • WOW again

  • WOW
