I am sure many would think this was a sexist commercial. Better if the men were sitting, drinking beer while the woman does the heavy lifting - what? isn't that what women's liberation was all about, right? The right to not have men help women?

This was one of my very favorite TV commercials as a child. I loved the cinematography and the whole friendly/funky vibe of it. It made little difference that I didn't like the taste of Olympia beer when I tried it years later. And yes, it DOES sound like a Jewel song!

I Remember The Pull Tabs From When My Parents Used to Have Me Go Steal Olympia Beer From Various Markets in The Neighborhood While They Distracted The Clerks With a Whole Array of Assorted Weapons. I Did Feel Bad From Time To Time, But If I Refused They Would Wrap Me in a Tarp With Ants They Had Gathered From The Garden, Beat Me With "Switches" That I Had to Cut Myself and Toss Me in The Crawl Space For Several Hours at a Time. My Therapist Says I Shouldn't Reflect Too Much on Such Memories.

as a kid rather than litter we'd drop the pull tab down inside our pop cans! Looking back it probably wasn't the most sanitary habit and luckily none of us swallowed the tab while taking a swig lol

yea but they shut down the Tumwater brewry (i live here in oly) that was the brewery that they got the famous Artisan water. sad day for beer :(
