  • Y9D is probably yellow dye # 9 a food coloring

  • This is an oldie that gets stuck in your head. I hated it back in the day, but it makes me laugh now. I am surprised that I still remember the words. Sigh... of all the things I need to remember and can't, why does it have to be this 50 year old commercial??

  • That bald old asshole doesn't know what he's singing!

  • they don't make ads like they use to

  • You got that right.

  • Anybody remember the old man who used to appear after this spot who had no teeth biting into a sausage biscuit??!! This played in KY/TN!

  • A commercial that haunted my youth. Explains a lot about me, some might say . . . .

  • LOL cute and disturbing at the same time

  • What is Y9D??? kinda scarey!!!,,, Anyways,,cute commercial-- Sausage/Biscuits are delicious!

  • Eh, who knows? It rhymed and the meter was right. ;) Whatever it was, it was mighty tasty, I know that for a fact. Haha.

    Thanks for your comment!

  • Biscuits? I'm assuming American biscuits are differenr from British ones?

  • Yes. What you call "biscuits" we call "cookies". Biscuits over here are a type of bread - typically a salty and/or buttery flavor. Look at the video that may show up as "related videos" on the sidebar - it is in color with the title "TN pride." The bread the sausage patties are between are one example what we call biscuits in that commercial and how they are used.

  • Thanks for the info :)

  • You are welcome.

I actually learned of the different use of the same word watching the British comedy "Keeping Up Appearances" which airs over here...Hyacinth always calling Elizabeth over and offering her "biscuits" which were different from what I knew biscuits to be.

  • Also, if you want to see how they are made, just type in "homemade biscuits" in a search.

  • We get cookies here too, but they're a specific kind of biscuit - circular and often with chocolate chips etc.
