She was born in Hawaii, but I believe her parents were Japanese. Her father was a musician, so she grew up with a strong musical background. She was discovered by a producer while she was performing and they took her to Japan.

@LookSquirrel You're confusing Ayaka with Mika. Mika was born in Hawai'i, to a Japanese mother and an Australian father, and her father is a semi-famous jazz pianist. Ayaka, on the other hand, is native Japanese and she only spent her teenage years in Hawai'i.

that would be awesome but i think the mm girls would mess up the tones big time. in Japanese there's basically to intonations high or low. in mandarin Chinese you have 4 and Cantonese has 7. say the same word with a different tone you have a new word lol. come to think of it there is no conjugation for verbs in Chinese so that would be a plus!

The origin it's probably chinese, for it's philosophical form. If not, can bee latin or greek, but not english or spanish or japanese, these languages are "very" recent.

@Celedam Well english is compination of Latin, French, Germanic languages and random other languages. Nowadays instead of loaning latin and some languages spoken in europe, words are taken from English due usa's high influence in technology and new words are mostly about technology, so instead of making new words, old and practical way of loaning is still in use.

isseki ni chou kanji: 一石二鳥 (1 stone 2 birds)

It's not accidental, it's a translation; so in spanish we say "matar dos pajaros de una pedrada".
