use your common sense, if you are going uphill on an icy road and stop completely, you will be stuck, stopping completely and going also causes more emissions or pollution, stop signs are a stupid design and should be replaced with roundabouts or mini-roundabouts which is sometime just a dab of paint and arrows inside an intersection which will turn it into a 4-way yield instead = less pollution and wear + tear on brakes

As I understand it, here in Ontario (where this video was shot) there is no definition of "complete stop" in the HTO. You may be ticketed for a rolling stop, but if you fight the ticket, you will likely win. Rolling stops are not technically illegal here.

I'm not saying I agree with it, just that the HTO is poorly written.

How I deal with stop signs is this: If I see the road is deserted and there is no one coming, I either come to a rolling stop, or just go through it completely. What's the point of stopping when there is no one there but yourself?

thats how i stop. out here in alberta we have more yeild signs than stop signs the purpose of a stop sign is to make sure no one is coming the other way. once you have determined that then you can proceed. however if you already know that no one is coming from the other way then why bother to stop.
