  • muy buen video !.

  • Fake!

  • That looked kind of rough...

  • Are you like the Co-Pilot or the guys who sits at back? or just someone else? Nice landing.

  • Why does the dash display look like an electrical failure or is that just the effect of veiwing through a cheap camera without the proper filters. I would put faith in that!

  • A Category IIIc ILS landing is a "zero-zero" landing, meaning that zero visibility is okay, but because of the taxi problem, currently this ultimate category of instrument approach is not used, even though an autoland under such conditions is technically possible.

    Sources:A340 co-pilot.

  • Aircraft with autoland can land in conditions that are too foggy for a manual landing. However, there are still limits, because even if you can land in zero visibility, there may not be enough visibility to taxi to the gate. In this extreme case of dense fog, you may still have to divert.

  • why did the plane call the pilot a retard lol?

  • @liamdudeeee

plane was not satisfied with the approach ;)

  • They didn't use speedbrakes at landing

  • @elvarbuk They did used. Airbus speedbrakes lever does not go down when armed unlike Boeing, which has the speedbrakes armed and when touchdown, the lever moves.

  • @elvarbuk

    Good attention

Yes, it is not use speedbrakes

    Why?

  • @captain773jarrah

Its not compulsary to arm auto spoilers all the time .Air brakes differ from spoilers in that air brakes are designed to increase drag while making little change to lift, whereas spoilers greatly reduce the lift-to-drag ratio and require a higher angle of attack to maintain lift, resulting in a higher stall speed. Most gliders are equipped with air brakes on the wings for approach control during landing.

  • Awesome!

  • this is funny the plane is insulting the pilot, it is telling him that he is a retard!!!!!

    lol, just joking

  • does the autothrottle control the throttles all the way down or does he do that and engage thrust reverse on the ground?

  • Depends what type landing pilots are doing. If its a CAT III ILS approach, then the autothrottle is controlling the plane until it lands, then the pilots switch it off. In CAT II and I approaches, there is a minimums area where autopilot and autothrottles are turned off for manual landing. In this case looks like pilots manually brought plane in.

  • retard retard retard...all airbus cockpit landings you can hear this irritating sound...why is that?

does the pilots cant make a perfect landing without this shit?

  • It says "retard" when the pilots have to idle the engines!

  • Retard in aviation means to close throttles. When the airbus hits to about 15 ft it has to do an action called a "flare". To do it throttles must be closed and the plane pulls up slightly before tocuhing down to land smoothly. So when the computer says "Retard" its telling the pilots to close throttles before flaring and touching down.

  • Shanghai Pudong Intl.......ILS landing for sure...piece of cake....

  • Isn't landing in a foggy airport dangerous? Nice landing.

  • What the heck was that loud noise at 1:08 ??

  • lol i know iif u read the other comments down the page it shows u i mad a mistake sry lol ;)

  • nooo idea LOL what is that noise at 1:08

at 1:40 it does that sound again not sure if that was the same thing that made the noise the lever he pulled???? anyone know what it was!!! :S

  • At 1.40 he is arming the speed brake. 1.08 is the cockpit door shutting, probably the flight crew telling the pilots the cabin is secure for landing.

  • kool

  • Why does it say Retard..

I don't understand but it's an awesome plane

Airbus & Boeing my favorite planes..

  • retard means that before the plane reaches 20-30 ft and the planes nose is not up, it alerts pilots to pull up before touch the ground.,

    ncie vid btw :)

  • oh, i always thought that it ment that throttles are not idle. at the point of 29-30ft.

  • nah mate its not, i know dis becuase im actually training to become a airline pilot next year, maybe private, or through rex airline cadteship in NSW Wagga wagga, wish me luck

    cheerz,

    khaled

  • No it means to bring the throttles to idle. i know because my father is a 777-200Lr pilot or ACA.

  • sorry guyz, yes myfallenldomusic u ar right my bad, i feel stupid know lol.

The word "retard" is a reminder to pilots to bring the thrust levers to idle during the landing maneuver, known as the "flare," just prior to touchdown. If the autothrottles are engaged, which they are most of the time on highly-automated aircraft such as the Airbus, the thrust will go to idle on its own just prior to touchdown on landing.

hope fully i got it right this time. :)

  • It means reduce thrust to idle.....

  • it means to "etard" the throttels or put them into idle so the plane can sink into the flare

  • Retard instructs the pilot to reduce thrust to " idle ". If failure to do this occurs R/S ( reverse thrust ) Will not work , and therefor a go around is needed.

  • It means retard the throttle to idle.. that's all it means.. the warning is given when the aircraft is or is about to flare.

  • Great video.

  • Great video!5*

  • NO BACKGROUND "MUSIC"!!!!!!!!

  • what airline is this?

  • Whats the name of this song?

  • RETARD RETARD RETARD ... ^^ nice video

  • Very nice video

  • Great Video,10 stars

  • @barmer479 10 stars, i give 20
