  • For the English speakers asking - it's a separate instrument called the bombarde being played along in a duet. The bombarde is akin to taking out the melody pipe of the bagpipes and playing it like a clarinet. Traditionally they would also do this sort of duet with the biniou (the bagpipe of the Celtic region of France - Brittany. They speak a language related to Welsh. Breton music is STUNNING we hope they keep these traditions alive.

  • Very VERY rair reed. Thats the pipe organ reed right? if so its probaly one of those rounded reeds. very rair but also make for a very interesting sound (in a good way).

  • This is noise

  • *-*

  • superbe

  • Would an alto or soprano soloist do well singing these lyrics during lent by singing along with the high notes?

    Christ have mercy.

    Lord have mercy.

Christ oh christ have mercy on us all.

    Forgive us for our sins.

Christ oh Christ died for us on the cross, save us, oh save us from hell, from hells eternal fire.

Lord Jesus, Lord Jesus, Christ forgive us, forgive us of our sins, forgive us all!

    Bravo !

  • Vraiment très beau!! Question: avez-vous fait un CD? Merci.

  • @speedstick77 As we say in The Netherlands: "Rot toch op!"

  • Leaves me asking for more ;-D

  • @gngeannakakes They don't play together anymore... It's a pity...

  • Very very nice and sad...

  • do you have any sheet for this?

  • @bendasbrot No, I'm very sorry... I've improvised.

  • Tears to my eyes! Shame you don't seem to play together anymore.

  • @BartManNL Yes, I'm agree. It's sad for me too, because he was a marvellous artist...

    Thank's for your com !

  • An incredible piece of post-modernism. I love it!

  • Than'ks so much !! I realy love that melody. It's so beautiful that it make me cry sometimes.

    See ya !

  • Very nice. i like it. but is there a lower pitched one?

  • Thanks ! ^^

  • Creepy...? OMG, i loved it from the first bar! We need more music like this!

  • Thanks so much ! we have stopped to play together. I'm sad about that, but it's the choice of my friend, and I respect it.

  • why did you stop playing together? It sounds wonderful!

  • @outterspaces Thank's so much !

  • This is so beautiful!

Has this been put on cd?

  • @mondayparacetamol --> Yes, but I do not know how buy it... and where ! sincerely, Manzano.

  • Epoustouflant le final!

    C'est beau à en pleurer!

  • Hello,

See you soon !

  • Hello,

    Merci !

  • Thanks for the information and for setting me straight.. I learn something new every day!

  • What a spectacular reed! What wind pressure does it operate at?

  • That is not an organ stop. It's an old instrument like a capped Shawm. In the expanded info for the video he tells the player's name is Gwe'nole' Bouessel du Bourg. It's a duet of organ and bombarde.

  • all these years and i never knew the bombarde was an actual instrument! i thot it was just an organ stop like a principal. very interesting.

  • Thanks a lot :)

  • Thanks !

And I don't know about the pressure.. sorry.

  • Étonnant.

  • heavenly

  • This has got to be amongst the most unusual

and soulmoving reed sounds I have ever heard.

This organ builder must have been so much apart from the rest of the norm.

He must have listened to his heart to present to us so many years ago what he will know will last forever.

Blessed be his heart, and thank you for the experience!

  • Wow... thanks a lot !!

    The organist...

  • On est loin de l'electro-pop ! :-)

  • WOW! What an incredible reed sound! Who is the maker of the organ? And the date? I've never heard a trumpet like that. Really interesting - thanks for posting this video!

  • Hello, i don't know who is the maker of the organ, but it's an incredible little instrument. It's not a trumpet but a "Bombarde". It's a little celtic instrument, very beautiful and powerful !

It' was my principal musical group between 2000 and 2005.

    Thanks to you !!

  • @laclef2007 sounds very celtic just like irish bag pipes, almost a dream like quality, and something like from riverdance or a concert show on public tv here in the states, very nice very grandios
