Is the Queen of England stamped on your money? The British Commonwealth is made up of 52 nations & over 2 billion citizens. As a Commonwealth member you have a right to vote in UK elections. Just need a residence in the UK you don't have to be a citizen because as a Canadian you are already British.

It just so happens that the act was never intended to remove our British rights or even sever our British ties, just create a new distinction of "Canadian". You can't be Canadian with out being British.

My nationality is Canadian, and by blood I am Czech.
Personally I dont care what happened in the past with all this, I go by blood, not government. I am Czech with a capitol C for Canada :P

The British past has a large role in defining the nation, we never rejected it. It's part of who we are as Canadians

It wasn't so much that Canadians were in the British units, but more that when the terms of service of these men was up they were given a plot of land to farm in Canada. This means that most of these men were the backbone of Canadian settlements. By the way....Canadians never burned down the white house. It wasn't even burned down, it was just burned on the interior mostly.
