Winston Churchill was a very brave man - he fought in India , Sudan and South Africa and lead his men on horseback against enemy fire.

Cheney is a coward and chickenhawk. He got deferment from serving in Vietman 5 times , the last one because his wife was pregnant !

No, Churchill is still Churchill. Geert Wilders is not sophisticated enough, even when Churchill criticized Islam, he did so based on his experiences, and not on some superficial reading of the Qur'an, and did not call for it to be banned.

Churchill was right about Islam being the most retrograde force in the world, and that science is all that kept the western world safe from its zealous expansionists, but now that science gap is closing.

I'll go out a limb and say that Mr. Wilders has more experience in the Middle East than you and most Westerners. He has been to Tunisia, Turkey and Iran and has lived in Israel. Wilders call for the ban of the Quran is in the context of a Netherlands that has banned Mein Kampf. He's making a point about the content of the book, and I think he's making it rather well. Anyway it's counterproductive to compare them.. considering the state of the world today be thankful we have Wilders.

He's not making the case that Mein Kampf should be allowed, but I think he has a point that if Mein Kampf is banned for inciting hatred and violence, it can be argued equally that the Qur'an incites hatred and violence.

I think Fitnah was boring as it showed cliched verses of the Qur'an, which Muslims can easily say were taken out of context, he should've bothered to show Islamic scholars throughout the ages interpreting those verses to justify violent religious supremacism.

I felt the same way about Fitna at first, but unfortunately most people don't have the patience or aptitude for a scholarly case against Islam. Wilders uses the simple formula of Quran verse + Imam preaching = death in the streets. He has been successful too.. remember Fitna was first and foremost a message to the Dutch people (to be aired on Dutch TV) and now Wilders' party polls #1.

Anyway, I agree to disagree on the strategy... we agree on the greater goal.
