  • He's a gorgeous bird. I didn't know that they ate from the ground. Such amazing close up footage that you always get. Did you see that greenfinch chucking out the seed he doesn't want from the feeder to get at the seeds he does want. They do it in my garden too, I've never seen messier eating birds!! I'm also amazed at the amount of bird noise that's going on in your garden. Mine is so quiet at that time of year. You're so lucky.

  • @JIceBirdsandMore Hii,Many thanks for your visit and comments..Yes they are so amazing birds at nature..and this Woody comes every day to my garden...

  • I loved seeing him on the ground pecking away like that Menu :-) You usually don't see them much on the ground, at least around here.. Not only are your feeders well likened but your yard is also ;-)

  • @MoviesMusicNature Yes Chris even I have only seen the Spotted Woodpecker feeding off the ground for the first time. I always see only the Green backed Woodpecker feeding from the ground. This was very unusual to me too and took me by surprise. You have spotted it very well :)) Thank you always for your kind presence..

  • @AngkorFlower Yes, Bopha they are beauties of nature and so soothing to see..

  • @Jawa2lak Many thanks for your kind comments always dear Jawa..Yes indeed it's a pleasure to have them...

  • I love woodpeckers. They are fun to watch at the feeders. We had red-bellied that would sword fight the sparrows at our feeder. We nicknamed him D'Artagnan because we couldn't decide on which muskateer to name him after. Do nickname any of your regulars?

  • @manywolves11 Thanks for your interesting comments..Your woodpecker is one of the three muskateers lol... Hope you will find the other two also.. No I still havent nicknamed them..but I have short names for groups of them..like Rob for Robins, Goldies for Gold finches, Greenies for Greenfinches & Woodies for Woodpeckers.. lol..
