This was played at my Mum,s funeral. The words are so meaningful. I truely believe when we leave this life, this is what is . going to be like. we will meet our loved ones, they will be waiting for us, No pain or sadness,
The Daniel Odonnell version of this song was played when my mother was being brought out of the church. It was perfect, she was buried about 500 yards from where she was born and raised.
@mylittlescruff Played this by Daniel O,Donnell at my Mum,s Funeral, 2 years ago, but going into the church, So beautiful. and so meaningful. she loved Daniel O,Donnell. and this just seemed perfect
Going home. Now that sounds like a great idea. I await with awesome wonder when it is my turn to go hom. He will be my father in Heaven, my saviour, my devoted life. May we all get to know Him like I do, and Love him the way I love Him. Blessing Rev Jack
Mary Duff is a class singer who always knew 'how' to sing a song! Great country singer and gorgeous girl too! :) I have this concert on DVD from the early 90's. The best of stuff!
Thank you I am looking for the written music for this song and this will help me find it . My Mother would like this played at her funeral and she asked me to try to find it. Thank you.
As an Irish lass, Mary Duff finds her métier in this song. Listening to her rendition, one hears a beautiful sad recitation of Erin's tortured history and soulful perspective on the ultimate fate of each of us.
Thank you ,this is a beautiful song.I first heard it over 39 years ago in a black and white film. The girl who sung it was playing the part of an asylum inmate.

I love this song. I learnt to play this on the bagpipes and when my grandfather passed away a bagpiper also played this for his burial.
