Chanchal, this is the genuine voice of Debabrata Biswas. Hemanta version of this song was released in 1954 (opposite side was Ditang Ditang Bole....)

Real fact, I also don know.. But from the quality of the voice I feel it was sung by Geogrgeda (1911-1980) in his youth .. we can assume it pre 50s ... even then he was over 40 +

there is a hindi song in the same tune made by Salilda much later probably in 70s in a film named mem didi. I will try to send you that song. it is by Lata something like Bhula do Zindagi Ke Gham...and yes I agree I like The chorus song most too.. specially with all the improvisation..

@sandatta1963 The Hindi version of 'pathe ebar namo sathi' is 'tumhen watan pukarta utho watan ke naujawan'. I have heard it only on radio by Bombay youth choir under (which was formed and conduced by Salil Chowdhury). To the best of my knowledge, the Hindi song was never released on record/cassette/CD.

@sandatta1963 The Hindi song you are referring to was performed by Bombay Youth choir (which was founded and conducted by Salil Chowdhury). The first line is "tumhen watan pukarta utho watan ke naujawan". It exists as a studio recording for AIR, and wasn't released commercially.
