I think it was unsuccessful in England because they are snobs! If "Cats", which isn't worth much in my view, was a hit there, this just had to make everyone cry and love it!
I juts don't understand what was so spectacular about it. Those were the 70s, so the crazy outfits, outrageous make-up, and weird music were nothing out of the ordinary. You'd probably see a scene (not re-enacted, but as part of life) from "Cats" in any random club you went in.

No, i don't think there is another video or official DVD.
In fact the show just ran for 2 months in spain if I'm not wrong.

i think casting wasn't very good either, they didn't work at it very good if such a great musical failed, may be bad promotion
