This gun is a bit on the heavy side. Great shooting for one handed .357 Magnum. Would love to see a Model 60,649, or 640 demonstration. Slightly lighter in weight, yet heavier than the airweights
does anyone else notice that the .40 s&w can have a knock down factor of 309 and 363 also 9mm luger can be 258 or 288 depending on what weight midway decides to put in the gun seems like you would want to compare apples to apples to me if you wanted to be fair.
@darrenj678 i understand that but say you're comparing 2 different guns that both shoot 45 acp and one is tested with the 230 grain and the other the 185 grain there's a 32 point difference between the two so you could potentially hit the paper plate one more time in 5 seconds with one gun a 20 point difference and still lose the comparison when each of the two guns can handle the same load. so your'e adding another unnecessary variable to the evaluation and not compensating for it.
@michaeldepp85 I think they monitor that stuff, if anything, they probably just have that for examples and only do one kind of each round, atleast Larry Potterfield seems like the kinda guy that would do that
Can vouch for the SP101. Incredible, indestructible little powerhouse! I carried the 3-inch version with Hogue grips for several years. I had slicked up the action a bit and it was SOOO sweet! A good friend loved the gun and wanted it for a house gun because his wife shot it very well it with 38+P 158gr LSWC-HP's. It took 2 years, but I finally sold it to him. I have regretted it ever since.
I wonder where the new 327 federal magnum would rank for knockdown. I saw a speer 115 grain gold dot loaded to 1300fps and a 100 grain gold dot to 1500fps out of a SP101 in 327 federal.Federal loads a 85 grain hydra shock to 1400 fps and a 100 grain soft point to 1500. In a federal premium commercial for the 327 mag they claim it gets 20% less recoil then a 357 with superior performance. I am no expert which is why I would love to hear a professional opinion on this.
i have some metal lock cases for my guns. does anyone think having some zip up pouches for the guns necessary or not? I appreciate the feedback.

@SharkWhisperer1988 Yeah, the Ranch Hand is classified as a hand gun. I second the motion.

It's a very nice CC, I have the 3" and my wife carries the 2-1/4".....she loves that little gun (124gr hollow points mag load)

SP101 (3" bbl.) with Remington Golden Saber ammo is a sweet combination.

@michaeldepp85 there are different weighted bullets and a heavier bullet is going to have a higher knock down power.. it's pretty fair if you ask me

I'd love to have one of these but I don't think I'd leave the hammer back while it sits on my night stand like you did on the TTFH
Dragon7697 1 year ago
@Dragon7697 He shoots it double action for the TTFH. He's just squeezing it at the point you're seeing.
