"Lets buy guns and kill those kids with dads and moms, with nice homes, 401k's and nice ass lawns, those privileged fucks gotta learn that we aint takin no shit, like Ellen Degeneres clitoris is playin with dick. Im jealous as shit, cause I aint got no home meal to come to so if you do im throwing fingers out screaming FUCK YOU!"
Again I want to mention that earning is producing. Do the 1% produce anything? Do they plant, harvest, swing hammers, assemble cars?
What they do is organize labor, undeniably an important job. We need leaders, but it should be understood that many of this class use their influence to keep laborers in a dependent state so they can be fully taken advantage of. Much more concerning is their selfish disloyalty to their own country, reflected by the fact so many jobs are being sent overseas.
the 1 percent earned it.. why hate? in this world, money is power.. and smart people get money and thus power.. getting there takes alot of hard work and these 1% earned it..
The disparity of wealth in this country isn't surprising. Read the founders of the Constitution and it's pretty obvious that they designed the rules to benefit the rich, at the expense of everyone else. There's a really interesting video about the Founders and their relation to the 1%. It's titled The Founders' Dark Side--youtube it! Very short but informative. I think we all need to snap out of this myth that the country used to be great.
apitalism works this way...every man for himself. Some people deserve this wealth because they earned it, some people just rode the coat tails of their parents. All this occupy wall street stuff is just stirring up useless hatred and anger. A war between the classes is just as useless as a war between the races.
We are individuals! Some of the 1% are great and some are in the middle and some are evil....just like the rest of us!
thanks mr. johnson for making this short film. i think you know the impact of your work but let me reassure you that having a voice from the wealthy class confirm the efforts of the 99% is invaluable.
Rich kid makes a film about wealth and poverty, in the brief few years of 'wealth angst' whilst he is still an angry young man, as his father was was and did.Look back at this statement when you are 45 and super rich and ponder! Those who 'have' give the crumbs from the table to those who don't........This is the natural order of 'power' which' has been' and 'alway will be',until the table is turned over......Do...don't just talk about or film it..get off your arse and make a difference.
I don't know who pisses me off the most, these one percent, or the ninety-eight percent that won't listen to the other one percent that say this bullshit, external authority isn't necessary for existence. It's always the same old shit: Go to Somalia, grow up, you'll get over it when you turn 25, etc. The list goes on and on. You're making your bed, and someday, you'll be forced to sleep in it!
The ideas coming from them have relied upon governance, (EG robin hood tax.) it would simply be organized differently.
the 1% are worse, they are genocidal, their wealth causes famine, slavery, disease, infant mortality, etc. They raid opulence from the depleted and indebted coffers of third world nations.
the 98 though, are mostly their bootlickers. They pay their taxes, they join the army. they are complacent. then they cry they didnt get enough cake.
sometimes, being wealthy is a result of real hard work and determination and persistence.. why do people hate them? yes sometimes money corrupts but not all of the 1% is a greedy fuck..
YOUR ONLY MAD BECAUSE THE 1% HAVE BEEN EXPOSED THROUGH THIS DOCUMENTARY THE REASON WHY THEY GOT THAT MONEY YEAH IT WAS HARD WORK AND DETERMINATION TO SCREW PEOPLE oVER AND CUT ALOT OF PEOPLE OFF IN ORDER TO MAKE THE RICHES THAT THEY DO IT WAS HARD WORK SWINDLING, LYING AND CHEATING IN ORDER TO GET WHERE THEY ARE AND MOST OF THOSE PEOPLE THEY DIDNT EARN THAT WEALTH THEY INHERITIED OFF OF THOSE WHO BROKE THE BACKS OF OTHER PEOPLE WHO SUFFERED
The problem is a tiny percentage of individuals invested into corporations are buying control of government policy for their private gain.
The individual investors in corporations all have their one man one vote like the rest of us BUT their money making machines have set their sights on commandeering the distribution of our tax dollars for their benifit at our expense.
What we have now is a new economic serfdom. The top % love national debt because they loan our own money back to us.
@NowPleaseReadThis Your message was flagged for spam by the 1% who don't like what you're saying. Thought you should know. Oh, and I clicked not spam :)
through the upside down world of haves and have nots. Don't stop with the inquiry for you will be one of the 1% who finds true happiness with your ability to step out of this
When the advisor to family says "it's good to see you're finally doing something with yourself" it indicates the son has never worked; he probably just partied all the time while his dad encouraged him to work for the family, he didn't feel like working so made this to piss them off. Just a guess.
I for one am shocked, SHOCKED, that brain surgeons and rocket scientists make more money than janitors and burger flippers. We need to put a stop to this unfair distribution of wealth IMMEDIATELY!!!
Speaking about the ever-upcoming, never-ending discourse of individualism vs socialism, providing incentive vs distributing equally, free markets vs planned economies: Proponents of both directions will claim that their ideas are often misunderstood and that there has never been a "true" form of their ideas implemented in reality.
@herzmeister Both directions seem to look fine in theory, but are utopian. Governments, how ever "big" or "small", seem to continue to fail to find the balance. They fail to balance rules vs freedom, order vs chaos, because they are corrupt as they are only human in the end, and humans are weak. Thus all forms of society are utopian at last and will finally fail in practice. Some sooner, some later. Another reason is simply because the only thing that is constant in this universe is change.
@herzmeister Howsoever, the solution for all of this is kind of hidden in plain sight in this documentation. It's the protagonist himself, not so much by his economic knowledge, but by what's in his heart. Earth and nature has "enough for everybody's need (and much more), but not enough for anybody's greed" (Gandhi).
@herzmeister We must overcome the fear of scarcity and greed, we all must grow from within and develop empathy and a sense for the greater good, then the currently implemented form of economy becomes a meaningless label. Economics is the science of managing scarcity. It's now time to transcend into the age of abundance.
@Clausewitzz oh maybe there is much less about peak oil than the cartels want to make us to believe. Research artificial scarcity.
Not that I'd love to see alternatives. Hemp (oil and fiber) for example is an excellent substitute to oil and plastics that is being suppressed. Furthermore, logistics in our society are insane because of global crony capitalism. More decentralization and local self-supporting communities would require much less transportation and oil.
People simply don't like the idea of peak oil, and want to believe we really have alternatives that will make sure this won't effect everything that much, but the fact is peak oil has allready effected us even though the peak hasnt happened yet.
And anybody who really spend some time into this can see it's close...
I would suggest to take a look at the documentary: Crude awakening: the oil crash.
That will show you how deep the problem is, and how complicated it is to solve.
Milton Friedman came across like an asshole and cold reptile, as someone with a dark agenda and secrets he has to hide. Fair enough, he might have been confronted with left-ish hippies throughout his life and may be quite fed up with them and the common misconceptions about the free market. He's right of course that it's quite naive to demand higher taxes from the rich, as they will find ways to escape taxes.
But still, in an old age shortly before his death he should have developed a more relaxed manner and benevolence towards a young idealistic man trying to find ways to make a change.
I read once about how to become the 1%: how spirits in the material world could transcend the boundary between the two, thereby enjoying the fruits of the 1%. Put the 1% before the 99%. Do not put yourself before the 1%, but the 1% before yourself. Only then can the fruits of the 1% be enjoyed by the 99%.
A revolution is not a dinner party, or writing an essay, or painting a picture, or doing embroidery; it cannot be so refined, so leisurely and gentle, so temperate, kind, courteous, restrained and magnanimous. A revolution is an insurrection, an act of violence by which one class overthrows another.[ MAO]
@MisterSunson words from the mouth of an uneducated person who grew up like an animal and viewed the world in the eyes of an animal. I'm sorry. I am a human being.
@MisterSunson Couldn't Agree More!!!!! TO THE RICH - "A Revolution is not a dinner party, or writing an essay, or painting a picture, or doing embroidery; it cannot be so refined, so leisurely and gentle, so temperate, kind, courteous, restrained and magnanimous. A revolution is an insurrection, an act of violence by which one class overthrows another." - YOUR FOE MAO
THOSE WHO ARE INTERESTED this is another video witht he same topic, highly recommend it watch?v=XdVODFombco AND watch?v=UGL-Ex1CD1c&feature=channel_video_title
I watched the movie on Netflix this weekend and found this video to do what it possibly was intended to do and that is provoke thought and reflection about wealth and the social issues surrounding it. Good job.
Hate rich people as much as you want but at the end of the day; they are the one's who create businesses, they are the ones who invest in foreign countries and help boost the wealth of them. They are the ones which you buy your clothes from, your food from, your cars from etc. And because they own more than you isn't enough justification to hate them.
@Arklysirzirgas Nobody is hating rich people here. The public has the right to know how wasteful in resources some folks are living. Nobody is saying anything in regards to those who live responsibly when rich. But what we are seeing here is squander of environmental resources, wood from trees which we need to have oxygen, gold from gold mining in the Amazon rain forest which pollute the rivers with mercury, slave labor in other countries, and the list goes on. Rich is good. Wastefulness is bad.
I don't think the point of Jamie making this movie is to try to make others feel empathy towards him. I think he is trying to display the obvious and talk about a subject everyone else in in position is afraid to discuss. He has a lot of really good points and he is a very smart person. I think he wants people to at least understand that there is not even close to a general equality in America, and maybe people who are in the top 1% should do more to help close the economic gap.
@kludg2008 no offence dude, but what?! ure the heir to the jnj company? and u us to pay for the dvd, could u not be a nice guy n upload the full video in 1 video for free??? i just watch 2 video docs discussing the latest issues recently arising with the 99 protest n all...
i appreciate that u are making this video, u took ur time, etc etc etc. but common man
The film has an odd perspective. Some rich guy tries to convince me that I should feel bad because he has much much more wealth than me.
But what do I care what he has? I care what I and my family have. On the whole my family lives a far better life than my parents or grandparents did. Well, some of my grandparents siblings got killed by communists, people obsessed with what others had and taking away from them instead of concentrating on improving their own lives.
@kunnapp it's funny and scary how most of americans have been induced to believe every other paradigm other than capitalism is communism, and how any idea related towars social distribuition tends to be dangerous and evil.
@DrClaw77 Did you have a point to make, or did you just want a quick little verbal ejaculation? I haven't proven any point one way or the other, so I'd suggest a refresher course in basic English before spouting off on the internet. Then again, the comment to which I responded was simply a weak assertion which proved nothing either, so I was responding in-kind.
If you'd like a history lesson which actually supports my assertion, I'd be happy to school you.
@gmmay70 I'd suggest a refresher course of removing your head from your rectum before logging into YouTube. herokopite's comment is closer to the truth than yours. Many Americans are predisposed to reject non-capitalist paradigms, erroneously dismissing it as "communism" or "evil" among other things. I don't need to hear about Cuba, China or whatever else you had up your butt to make a silly point. "Incongruous with how America has constructed itself" would have been a better response.
@DrClaw77 The only mistake I've made here is assuming English was your primary language. "Truth" is another word you seem to misunderstand. Now, if you were a native English speaker, I would simply say you're talking out of your ass when you comically claim his comment resembled anything near "truth", since there is nothing outside his fevered imagination backing up that bullshit claim in the first place. Since you obviously don't understand English very well, you deserve some slack.
lol im not a right winger, and i i think rich people should be more charitable,a nd that we could easily support all humans comfortably. but during the rising of our nation and the modern world, im sorry to break it to you. capitalism was a big help. now that we took that step and we have reaped so much, we have to find another way because its hurting us is true. But respect the benefits its brought. really.
@godsilveranddiamonds it's different when a tiny minority are eating your cakes without earning it. There are too sides to an economy, supply and demand, and when a finite amount of material wealth is being produced and most of it goes to a select few who don't produce it there can be shortages of basic goods and other unwanted consequences.
I cannot understand the argument against the rich that always claims that because someone has so much wealth that will I have less. Its like saying that because someone has eaten 100 cakes in New York I get less cake here in California nope....plenty of cake here too.
@goldsilverandiamonds This statement is specious and highly inaccurate!!! lol. And don't think i am some communist or uberliberal. I like austrian economics and i own silver. But in reality the "free markets" don't work and never will and the current capitalist system works through creating haves and have nots. It has blatant inequality in its make up.
@k Capitalism does not create have and have not's,what a stupid highly inaccurate generalized statement you have made. I guess you never understood that time plays a role in the accumulation of wealth and the communist crap you spew does not take that into account. The wealthy tend to be old thats because it takes many decades to become rich, and when compared to the overall population( all ages) the disparity would leave one to belive that capitalism is not fair. The young are always poor.
@goldsilverandiamonds Listen idiot. I said i wasn't a communist. All i said was the truth that capitalism is flawed. All you said was that it takes time to find great ways to exploit people for profit! Capitalism is flawed and the idea of "free markets" are flawed because of the greedy immoral behavior of the people that the system is placed upon. Under capitalism and free markets all people can't prosper because than there would be no one to exploit. please read a book!
@1 Dickhead all systems are flawed nothing is perfect but some systems are more perfect then others,CAPITALISM IS MORE PERFECT THEN YOUR MURDERING COMMUNISIM, OR PROPERTY STEALING/ FREEDOM STEALING SOCIALISM.Wealth is generally built with time most Americans that are wealthy spent a lifetime scrimping, investing, taking risks and living below their means to obtain security and freedom. ONLY A DICK HEAD COMMI WOULD SAY EXPLOIT PEOPLE FOR PROFIT.COCK FACE NO ONE FORCES YOU TO BUY SHIT,except the GOV
@goldsilverandiamonds Listen you RETARD! Capitalism is not more perfect than anything. You have just drank more of the groupthink Kool-aid. The people who are extremely wealthy got that way through imperialism, colonialism and enslavement. All of these like capitalism are forms of exploitation. Please read a book! You are obviously speaking with someone who is atleast 10 times smarter than you and more well read! You asshole!
@kin ASS FUCK NAME ONE COUNTRY AS LARGE AS THE U.S. and as DIVERSE THAT HAS CREATED SO MUCH GOOD,SO MUCH INOVATION,RASIED THE STANDARDS OF THE WORLD, RAISED THE STANDARDS FOR SOCIETY AND LAW, PROVIDED FOR THE POOR AND SICK, PROVIDED OTHERS IN THERE TIME OF NEED ,LIKE JAPAN, HAITI, OR PROTECTED THE LIVES OF MILLIONS BY SACRIFICING OUR OWN..YOU COMMUNIST SON OF A BITCH YOUR SYSTEM WIPED OUT 60 MILLION IN THE SOVIET UNION 70 MILLION IN COMMUNIST CHINA AND ENSLAVED MILLIONS MORE...YOU ARE A FOOL!
@goldsilverandiamonds And colonialism/capitalism/imperialism of the americas. The grand amounts of wealth were accumulated off of the backs of millions of SLAVES. Not to mention the need for land and resources by GENOCIDE of the indigenous population. These are in the millions. Non of these social/governing systems are perfect. All i am saying is realize this. Your recognition of history is so wrong and biased that it would be a waste of time to continue to give you history lessons.Dumb ass!
@k1 The slave population in the U.S. was roughly at its highest around 645,000 still far short from MILLIONS. The U.S. overall was against slavery and very few owned slaves of those that did they were the liberal democrats of the South where slavery was used on plantations. Many Northern states had laws early on against slavery, Vermont made it against the law in 1777 other states followed. The U.S. if it were impearlistic certainly now would own half the world, but we are not. You are a MORON!
@goldsilverandiamonds Even if your numbers were right which they aren't you failed to count the INDIANS genocide as well as the africans genocide from capture to ship transport to enslavement. I know most poor whites couldn't afford slaves but they benefited from the system. 90% of the wealth of the u.s was and is generated from slavery. PLEASE READ A BOOK! YOU ASSTARD!
@k The numbers are correct do some research. Native Indian population was estimated in the early settelment of America by the English to be not more then 1.5 million. This population was greatly reduced because of illnesses brought from Europe rather then outright slaughter. Keep in mind the native tribes were very brutal to other tribes and the killed each other off in tribal wars. I read daily unlike you, read An Empire of Wealth it will help you see how stupid and ignorant you are.
@kingmu1 By the way you never answered my question you communist pig why because you can't. COMMUNISIM IS A PROVEN MASSIVE MURDERING FAILURE that appeals to the lazy, ignorant, selfish, mentally ill and corrupt. You have no clue of what you speak of you ignorant pile of shit!!!!!!
@goldsilverandiamonds Listen you tard i am not defending communism cause i don't like that either! But you are too much of a moron to listen to me when i say this. You have been TRAINED to think that humans are naturally competitive, individualistic and greedy. This is just not true. please read a book.
@goldsilverandiamonds Yes that's right, it's Communism, not Capitalism that appeals to the selfish. /s
There has never been a truly communist state. USSR was a dictatorship that enforced slave labour. Quite the opposite to the true ideals of Communism.
The short-lived Kronstadt Rebellion was possibly the closest to a communist and anarchist society that we have seen, but that was swiftly assimilated by Lenin's dictatorship. Cont...
@ Capitalism works with man's nature, Communisim agains it (simple),this is why when communisim is tried it always fails.Your fantasy definitions are just that foolish fantasy. It does not exist or consider man's nature. The reality is (see history) COMMUNISIM WHEN TRIED IS ALWAYS A MASSIVE MURDERING FAILURE.Please deal in reality not fantasy.I could easily say Capitalism has never truly exisited and if it did it would be a perfect system however nothing is but it is far superior to Communisim.
@ Capitalism works with man's nature, Communisim agains it (simple),this is why when communisim is tried it always fails.Your fantasy definitions are just that foolish fantasy. @goldsilverandiamonds ... The Soviet Union propogandists called their society 'Communist' to benefit from the moral appeal that true Communism had with a large portion of the popuation. The west, and it's propogandists called it 'Communism' to defame the concept of communism, by associating it with Lenin's savage dictatorship.
In reality, it was as far from communism as it was possible to get. A small group of 'intelligentsia' were in control of the means of production, not the workers.
@democracysdirtywords A large portion of my family was killed by the communists in Russia trust me they were and will always be communists. If you did not have family that suffered under the oppression, fear and murder of the communists you will never understand the facts. What you spew is modern day rationalizations of why that communisim is not the communisim you want, again deal with reality, COMMUNISIM IS A MASSIVE MURDERING FAILURE, it appeals to the stupid, lazy, greedy, selfish and evil.
@goldsilverandiamonds I'm not rationalizing the Lenin regime. Far from it. As with other so-called 'Communist' dictatorships, it wasn't true communism in any shape or form. The term itself was abused and hijacked by dictators.
I'm not saying that their version of communism wasn't the communism that I want. It wasn't even the communism that Marx wanted. 'Leninism' was a massive, murdering failure. Unregulated capitalism appeals to the greedy, selfish and evil - that is inherent in it's nature.
@goldsilverandiamonds Also, just to clarify. I'm no Leninist or even necessarily a Communist. I'm sort of between an Anarchist and Social Democrat. I'm far more interested in a truly resource-based economy.
It is just that there are a lot of misconceptions about communism that arose due to Leninism and McCarthyism. The general concept behind communism is to create a more fair society, which DOESN'T benefit the greedy, selfish, or allow for exploitative corporations.
@de I am very clear on what communisim is and is not. You cannot create fairness and the fairest way so far is through Capitalism. Man's nature...mother nature is not based on fairness but survival. Is a Lion fair? Is a Shark fair? Is anything in this world fair? NO! Communisim is greedy and evil because it takes from others, mass murder is ok to achive its goal, It is selfish becasue it punishes those who choose to be individuals. I could go on.Corporations serve & solve problems not exploit.
@goldsilverandiamonds No. A shark or a lion isn't fair. But they also aren't capable of cognitive thought, and have no concept of wealth so a comparison would only serve as a waste of time.
So you don't think mass murder or slavery has been used to achieve the goal of capitalism? Many of MY ancestors died in workhouses. Corporations and large businesses DO exploit, by making a profit from the cheap labour of others. Workers' Co-Ops (a form of socialism) are possibly the fairest form of labour...
@d Nothing in this world is fair, fairness is an inmature desire. If you want fairness start in your own your own neigborhood. Give up all your property to those that have less then you or dont have less then you...put your money where your mouth is use your cognitive though. You wont, why survival and self interest not greed. Are you trying to rationalize the killing of 140 million by communists because the world used slaves?Fairest form of labor is profiting off your own thats small business.
@goldsilverandiamonds I already do. I work in the care industry, helping those less fortunate than me. All-round unadulterated self-interest doesn't help anybody, and those people who simply can't help themselves would get left behind to die - such as what would happen if we WERE sharks or lions.
Fairness is not an 'immature desire', it's what humans - the empathetic, social creature that we are - have been aiming towards and creeping closer to for millennia...
@goldsilverandiamonds And again, I'm not trying to rationalize the Leninist or Maoist regimes of mass murder, any more than you are trying to rationalize the murder and exploitation of hundreds of millions of slaves in the name of capitalism.
One thing I do agree on is that the fairest form of labour is profiting off your own. And Workers' Co-Ops are currently the fairest way I've witnessed of doing just that.
@ I am saying you are trying to rationalize the work of communists who belived as you do.The reality is fantasy communism has never exisited it evolved from the same unrealistic and inmature concept you think is viable. What you dont understand is that mans nature his self interest corrupt the original concept it does not take in to consideration what man is and what his real needs are.Thats why communist leaders all live like kings while the rest live in fear and poverty. The U.S. had few slaves.
@goldsilverandiamonds So you do agree that true communism hasn't really existed? As I said, it was corrupted by Lenin and his 'intelligentsia', who were already quite wealthy and powerful from the preceding capitalist era.
Again, I'm not rationalizing anything. I agree that certain parts of communism are naive, but I also think the exact same thing can be said of capitalism, which is why many parts of Europe use a mixture of the two - essentially nationalizing all of their essential services.
@d No I said fantasy definitions of communisim have not exisited, they do not exisit because when you throw in THE REALITY OF MAN'S NATURE IT CANNOT..PERIOD! COMMUNISM IS WHAT IT DOES AND COMMUNISIM IS A MASSIVE MURDERING FAILURE THAT APPEALS TO THE STUPID,GREEDY AND EVIL.Capitalism has proven itself to be the most powerful economic system to raise the standards of living for all. Europe lost its influence due to capitalistic economies who do not burden themselves with the failures of socialism.
@goldsilverandiamonds What 'influence' did Europe lose, exactly? They've developed CERN, some of the fastest public transport on earth, and most European countries rank extremely highly on the HDI scale and in social mobility/equality.
Capitalism hasn't proven itself, because it's built on the wealth created from past slavery.
Also could you please stop REPEATING YOURSELF IN CAPS, I heard you the first time.
@de If you have not noticed the EU is crumbling the euro is in serious trouble, the socialist systems you applaud are unsustainable and the anti capitalistic policie have crippled your ability to compete in the world marketplace. Europe is dying!!!! Your birth rates do not make up for those who are dying daily! Your culture is dying!!! This is a sign of deep depression and dispair among those who live in Europe. But you are progressive you should be happy this is what you have worked for.
@goldsilverandiamonds And what 'socialist' policies screwed up america's labour market, exactly? Cos you guy's don't look like you're having much fun from over here either. What with the gap between the rich and poor getting bigger every day.
And why have you been overtaken by China - still a partially 'socialist' country - in the terms of manufacturing. It couldn't have anything to do with capitalism, outsourcing or globalization could it?
@ Greedy, wasteful government and the unsustainable programs they create. Medicare, Social security, ect. but this is not what damaged our labor market our labor market damaged itself along with governments help. GREEDY UNIONS destroyed America's manufacturing competivness with outragous pay and incentives for workers who performed minimal line work. UNION & ENVIROMENTALISTS buying off politicians changed the landscape of American business and law.China has embraced Capitalism it is not foolish
@goldsilverandiamonds Greedy unions? Okay now you've just outed yourself for what you are. A profiteering sociopath. No wonder you like capitalism and competition so much. Unions have nowhere near as much power or sway over ANY government as corporate lobby groups. But then, you know this full well. That 'outrageous pay' that they asked for was just asking for a fairer share of the exorbitant profits, that THEY helped to create with their labour. Not much to ask for with inflation skyrocketing..
@gold And china may have embraced capitalism. But with it, it's embraced exploitation. The very reason that workers at FoxConn have been committing suicide at an alarming rate. Those lovely computers and iPods that they've been making, would take a worker years to be able to afford. While us in the western world, can buy those very goods for a week's wage or less, even though the work we do is no more or less important a service than the FoxConn workers.
@goldsilverandiamonds And as for punishing those who choose to be individuals - there is no choice in being an individual, it is just an aspect of being human. Capitalism already discourages individuality, by forcing people to work in a badly-paid job they hate just so they can feed themselves and their family, rather than following their desired career path because "there's just no profit in it". Capitalism revolves around "taking from others" as you put it, so that point also falls flat.
@d Being an individual allows one to express & live by their values & personal choices, communisim does not allow that. Yes being an individual is an aspect of being human thus nature, communisim works against nature. Capitalism does not encourage anything you can choose not to partcipate unlike communism, you do not have to work, sell or buy anything if you choose.Capitalism is not about taking but GIVING or SERVING OTHERS NEEDS FIRST in order to benefit oneself. PROFIT IS THE REWARD FOR SERVICE!
@goldsilverandiamonds Sorry, but there is no choice in Capitalism. Either you participate, or you die.
Profit would be the reward for a service if it was fairly shared out among those who have provided the service. But most successful capitalists have come to realise that outsourcing and exploitation of cheap or near-slave labour is the best way to make a profit...
@ No nice try here you can still homestead property, plant food and raise animals if you want, you have choices unlike communisim where you said it right participate or die! You can start a comune and live like you choose. Capitalism is very fair you get out what you put in. Again you have an unrealistic expectation on human nature and man you think life should be FAIR. If life was fair we all would be physically and mentally equal all have the same desires and capacity but were not, lifes not.
@goldsilverandiamonds But homesteading is only possible where the land is not owned or claimed by somebody else. Otherwise you must purchase the land from the owner. Then there's the case of buying seeds, water. I've lived on a commune, but here in the UK, you also have to apply (and pay) for planning regulation. Also, in the 1980's, our government declared war against the 'counter-culture' who decided not to participate in the capitalist system, and used police brutality against such groups.
@d The gov. owns it and allow for homesteading much of America was developed this way. It is given to those willing to move and develop it. Seeds are abundant so is poultry trade your labor for them. The U.K. is messed up no doubt. You are confusing your socialist system with the econmic system of capitalism. Why anyone would not want to partcipate in a capitalist system boggles my mind. Why would I not want the chance to compete, learn and grow my skills as a human while being rewarded for it.
@goldsilverandiamonds Sorry, but the UK is no 'socialist' system. Hasn't been since the 1980's when Thatcher decided to sell off all our public transport infrastructure. We still have the NHS, but after the recent collapse of the capitalist system - thanks to the banks and exploitative businesses - it looks like we'll have to privatize most of that as well...
@ Well the rest of the world thinks so. But then again progressives love to revise history or redefine terms just like you have been doing this whole time. How much does your government let you keep of your money? How much are you taxed at every corner. I heard you have to pay to watch government run TV but you are not socialist very funny. Your banking problems like ours are not due to Capitalism they are due to criminals in both private business and government. Stop generalizing. THINK!
@goldsilverandiamonds Oh yeah, we pay the equivalent of $6 a month for a television license. What an extortionate socialist regime!
The banking problems weren't due to just a few criminals, they were due to the deregulation of the banks and allowing the "free market to do what it does best", as Reagan and Thatcher said at the time. This, compounded with the human greed that you mentioned earlier, helped to create the situation that we have now.
@de I guess you are blind to the anti capitalist movement in your country and within your government....I guess this had nothing to do with it. The U.K is home of banking and currency trading it is what you are known for If you I would seem someone in your country is doing quite well right now and I sure they reside in political office. An as far as the crisis the Rothchilds of your country are quite well known for this kind of thing. Massive social government obligations are also to blame.
@ Hahaha and now you the Rothschild conspiracy? Oh, I wish you'd said that earlier, it would have made it clear just how insane you are, and this conversation could have ended much sooner.
Yes there are a few people doing pretty well in our country right now. Namely the owners of banks, corporations and arms dealers -our second biggest industry.
We, like the US, have slowly become a 'service economy', precisely because big businesses are outsourcing their labour to countries who exploit workers.
@d You might want to study some banking history before you poo poo the Rothchilds. I am far less insane then you. You live in a world of fantasy should be's I live in reality.
Those that are doing well are serving the needs of others by the choice of those whom choose to do business with them. See how that works? You are not exploting cheap labor nor is the U.S. ,business and money go th where they are welcome and respected the U.K. and sadly the U.S. have become hostile business enviroments.
@gold So you're telling me that UK and US businesses AREN'T exploiting cheap third-world labour and resources, and yet I'm the one who lives "in a world of fantasy"?
But then again, you seem to accuse everyone who disagrees with you of being some sort of 'Commie' fantasist. Even the Rothschild Group - one of the worlds wealthiest banking groups - are apparently in on some anti-capitalist conspiracy according to you. What a truly demented individual.
@d Are you exploting items on sale in your local stores? Do you not shop for value? You are the consumer who WANT'S LOWER PRICES.......ITS YOU THAT IS EXPLOITING LABOR THEN!!!! But who cares what people are paid what matters is what you can buy with it, I would be happy just to make 5 hr. if it bought more not less. The reality is GREEDY UNIONS jacked up labor prices and fucked over all of us with first higher prices then loss of jobs and manufacturing in our countries. You are truly ignorant.
@goldsilverandiamonds Yeah, cause making those Nike trainers in sweatshops really helped make them cheap didn't they?
Those 'greedy unions' asked for a fairer share of the profit that their labour created. But the company shareholders decide the only way to raise wages is to raise prices, because the GREEDY SHAREHOLDERS don't want to lose out on their original exorbitant share of the profit.
Anyway, keep those ad hominem attacks coming. They make you seem so very intelligent.
@goldsilverandiamonds Also, lower prices aren't the be all and end all. That's a very simplistic view of consumer attitudes. You're forgetting that consumers also want quality, as well as value for money. And as they say - "if you pay peanuts...".
P.S "WANT'S"? Who is this 'Want' guy that possesses "lower prices"? I'd like to find that guy.
@ Wow your a person who is an anti capitalist but yet you DO NOT WANT lower price strange values you work off of. Not all consumers can afford quality this is what you communists bitch about wage disparity and the poor. However the middle class looks for value including quailty yet price is shown to be a very big factor in purchasing....just not in your case. Ever hear of ALDI or IKEA? They have made billions serving the wants and needs of the consumer who choose to save money and exploit labor.
@g No, IKEA and ALDI sell products that appeal to people, and that are 'reasonably' priced. IKEA, for example, make their products cheaper by using less expensive materials and automated mass production. They also happen to exploit workers, and their union is currently campaigning for an improvement in working conditions. And I agree, that not all consumers can necessarily always afford quality, but then that would most likely be a problem concerning their own low and unfair wages...
@d No they sell to a market that values LOW PRICE and reasonable QUALITY. Again money and business go to where they are welcomed, respected and valued...the conusmer is welcomed, respected and valued by these companies because they offer what the consumer WANT'S.GREEDY UNIONS increase costs of goods by their unreasonable demands they do not respect or value the business that employs the employee and that is why businesses leave, close or look for places where they are welcome ie CHINA.
@gold And still with the 'greedy unions' line? Asking for a fair share of profits you create, or improvements in worker conditions are in no way unreasonable demands.
Businesses leave for China, because they know that workers there have little to no rights, and they can exploit them without any annoying government intervention.
But then our western governments know this, which is why some are considering introducing 'site here to sell here' legislation.
"Lets buy guns and kill those kids with dads and moms, with nice homes, 401k's and nice ass lawns, those privileged fucks gotta learn that we aint takin no shit, like Ellen Degeneres clitoris is playin with dick.

@Donatellangelo u got da 99% all wrong.

Speaking about the ever-upcoming, never-ending discourse of individualism vs socialism, providing incentive vs distributing equally, free markets vs planned economies: Proponents of both directions will claim that their ideas are often misunderstood and that there has never been a "true" form of their ideas implemented in reality.
herzmeister 3 months ago
@herzmeister Both directions seem to look fine in theory, but are utopian. Governments, how ever "big" or "small", seem to continue to fail to find the balance. They fail to balance rules vs freedom, order vs chaos, because they are corrupt as they are only human in the end, and humans are weak. Thus all forms of society are utopian at last and will finally fail in practice. Some sooner, some later. Another reason is simply because the only thing that is constant in this universe is change.
herzmeister 3 months ago
@herzmeister Howsoever, the solution for all of this is kind of hidden in plain sight in this documentation. It's the protagonist himself, not so much by his economic knowledge, but by what's in his heart. Earth and nature has "enough for everybody's need (and much more), but not enough for anybody's greed" (Gandhi).
herzmeister 3 months ago
@herzmeister We must overcome the fear of scarcity and greed, we all must grow from within and develop empathy and a sense for the greater good, then the currently implemented form of economy becomes a meaningless label. Economics is the science of managing scarcity. It's now time to transcend into the age of abundance.
herzmeister 3 months ago
@herzmeister
If you want to know the real cause behind the growing inequallity since the early 80's then do some research in peak oil.
Clausewitzz 3 months ago
@Clausewitzz oh maybe there is much less about peak oil than the cartels want to make us to believe. Research artificial scarcity.
Not that I'd love to see alternatives. Hemp (oil and fiber) for example is an excellent substitute to oil and plastics that is being suppressed. Furthermore, logistics in our society are insane because of global crony capitalism. More decentralization and local self-supporting communities would require much less transportation and oil.
herzmeister 3 months ago
@herzmeister
Clausewitzz 3 months ago
Milton Friedman came across like an asshole and cold reptile, as someone with a dark agenda and secrets he has to hide. Fair enough, he might have been confronted with left-ish hippies throughout his life and may be quite fed up with them and the common misconceptions about the free market. He's right of course that it's quite naive to demand higher taxes from the rich, as they will find ways to escape taxes.
herzmeister 3 months ago
But still, in an old age shortly before his death he should have developed a more relaxed manner and benevolence towards a young idealistic man trying to find ways to make a change.

Do not put yourself before the 1%, but the 1% before yourself. Only then can the fruits of the 1% be enjoyed by the 99%.

Arklysirzirgas 4 months ago
@Arklysirzirgas Nobody is hating rich people here. The public has the right to know how wasteful in resources some folks are living. Nobody is saying anything in regards to those who live responsibly when rich. But what we are seeing here is squander of environmental resources, wood from trees which we need to have oxygen, gold from gold mining in the Amazon rain forest which pollute the rivers with mercury, slave labor in other countries, and the list goes on. Rich is good. Wastefulness is bad.

I think he wants people to at least understand that there is not even close to a general equality in America, and maybe people who are in the top 1% should do more to help close the economic gap.

If you'd like a history lesson which actually supports my assertion, I'd be happy to school you.
gmmay70 4 months ago
@gmmay70 I'd suggest a refresher course of removing your head from your rectum before logging into YouTube. herokopite's comment is closer to the truth than yours. Many Americans are predisposed to reject non-capitalist paradigms, erroneously dismissing it as "communism" or "evil" among other things. I don't need to hear about Cuba, China or whatever else you had up your butt to make a silly point. "Incongruous with how America has constructed itself" would have been a better response.
DrClaw77 4 months ago
@DrClaw77 The only mistake I've made here is assuming English was your primary language. "Truth" is another word you seem to misunderstand. Now, if you were a native English speaker, I would simply say you're talking out of your ass when you comically claim his comment resembled anything near "truth", since there is nothing outside his fevered imagination backing up that bullshit claim in the first place. @godsilveranddiamonds it's different when a tiny minority are eating your cakes without earning it. There are too sides to an economy, supply and demand, and when a finite amount of material wealth is being produced and most of it goes to a select few who don't produce it there can be shortages of basic goods and other unwanted consequences.
saxonkirwan 5 months ago
I cannot understand the argument against the rich that always claims that because someone has so much wealth that will I have less. Its like saying that because someone has eaten 100 cakes in New York I get less cake here in California nope....plenty of cake here too.

@goldsilverandiamonds This statement is specious and highly inaccurate!!! lol. And don't think i am some communist or uberliberal. I like austrian economics and i own silver. kingmu1 5 months ago
The young are always poor.
goldsilverandiamonds 5 months ago
@goldsilverandiamonds Listen idiot. I said i wasn't a communist. All i said was the truth that capitalism is flawed.

This is just not true. please read a book.
kingmu1 4 months ago
@goldsilverandiamonds Yes that's right, it's Communism, not Capitalism that appeals to the selfish. /s
There has never been a truly communist state. USSR was a dictatorship that enforced slave labour. Quite the opposite to the true ideals of Communism.
The short-lived Kronstadt Rebellion was possibly the closest to a communist and anarchist society that we have seen, but that was swiftly assimilated by Lenin's dictatorship. Cont...

A small group of 'intelligentsia' were in control of the means of production, not the workers.
democracysdirtywords 4 months ago in playlist The One Percent
@democracysdirtywords A large portion of my family was killed by the communists in Russia trust me they were and will always be communists. If you did not have family that suffered under the oppression, fear and murder of the communists you will never understand the facts. What you spew is modern day rationalizations of why that communisim is not the communisim you want, again deal with reality, COMMUNISIM IS A MASSIVE MURDERING FAILURE, it appeals to the stupid, lazy, greedy, selfish and evil.
goldsilverandiamonds 4 months ago
@goldsilverandiamonds I'm not rationalizing the Lenin regime. Far from it. As with other so-called 'Communist' dictatorships, it wasn't true communism in any shape or form. The term itself was abused and hijacked by dictators.
I'm not saying that their version of communism wasn't the communism that I want. It wasn't even the communism that Marx wanted. 'Leninism' was a massive, murdering failure. Unregulated capitalism appeals to the greedy, selfish and evil - that is inherent in it's nature.
democracysdirtywords 4 months ago
@goldsilverandiamonds Also, just to clarify. I'm no Leninist or even necessarily a Communist. I'm sort of between an Anarchist and Social Democrat. I'm far more interested in a truly resource-based economy.
It is just that there are a lot of misconceptions about communism that arose due to Leninism and McCarthyism. The general concept behind communism is to create a more fair society, which DOESN'T benefit the greedy, selfish, or allow for exploitative corporations.
democracysdirtywords 4 months ago
@de I am very clear on what communisim is and is not. You cannot create fairness and the fairest way so far is through Capitalism. Man's nature...mother nature is not based on fairness but survival. Is a Lion fair? Is a Shark fair? Is anything in this world fair? NO! Communisim is greedy and evil because it takes from others, mass murder is ok to achive its goal, It is selfish becasue it punishes those who choose to be individuals. I could go on.Corporations serve & solve problems not exploit.
goldsilverandiamonds 4 months ago
@goldsilverandiamonds No. A shark or a lion isn't fair. But they also aren't capable of cognitive thought, and have no concept of wealth so a comparison would only serve as a waste of time.
So you don't think mass murder or slavery has been used to achieve the goal of capitalism? Many of MY ancestors died in workhouses. Corporations and large businesses DO exploit, by making a profit from the cheap labour of others. Workers' Co-Ops (a form of socialism) are possibly the fairest form of labour...
democracysdirtywords 4 months ago
@d Nothing in this world is fair, fairness is an inmature desire. If you want fairness start in your own your own neigborhood. Give up all your property to those that have less then you or dont have less then you...put your money where your mouth is use your cognitive though. You wont, why survival and self interest not greed. Are you trying to rationalize the killing of 140 million by communists because the world used slaves?Fairest form of labor is profiting off your own thats small business.
goldsilverandiamonds 4 months ago
@goldsilverandiamonds I already do. I work in the care industry, helping those less fortunate than me. All-round unadulterated self-interest doesn't help anybody, and those people who simply can't help themselves would get left behind to die - such as what would happen if we WERE sharks or lions.
Fairness is not an 'immature desire', it's what humans - the empathetic, social creature that we are - have been aiming towards and creeping closer to for millennia...
democracysdirtywords 4 months ago
@goldsilverandiamonds And again, I'm not trying to rationalize the Leninist or Maoist regimes of mass murder, any more than you are trying to rationalize the murder and exploitation of hundreds of millions of slaves in the name of capitalism.
One thing I do agree on is that the fairest form of labour is profiting off your own. And Workers' Co-Ops are currently the fairest way I've witnessed of doing just that.
democracysdirtywords 4 months ago
@ I am saying you are trying to rationalize the work of communists who belived as you do.The reality is fantasy communism has never exisited it evolved from the same unrealistic and inmature concept you think is viable. What you dont understand is that mans nature his self interest corrupt the original concept it does not take in to consideration what man is and what his real needs are.Thats why communist leaders all live like kings while the rest live in fear and poverty. The U.S. had few slaves.
goldsilverandiamonds 4 months ago
@goldsilverandiamonds So you do agree that true communism hasn't really existed? As I said, it was corrupted by Lenin and his 'intelligentsia', who were already quite wealthy and powerful from the preceding capitalist era.
Again, I'm not rationalizing anything. I agree that certain parts of communism are naive, but I also think the exact same thing can be said of capitalism, which is why many parts of Europe use a mixture of the two - essentially nationalizing all of their essential services.
democracysdirtywords 4 months ago
@d No I said fantasy definitions of communisim have not exisited, they do not exisit because when you throw in THE REALITY OF MAN'S NATURE IT CANNOT..PERIOD! COMMUNISM IS WHAT IT DOES AND COMMUNISIM IS A MASSIVE MURDERING FAILURE THAT APPEALS TO THE STUPID,GREEDY AND EVIL.Capitalism has proven itself to be the most powerful economic system to raise the standards of living for all. Europe lost its influence due to capitalistic economies who do not burden themselves with the failures of socialism.
goldsilverandiamonds 4 months ago

But you are progressive you should be happy this is what you have worked for.
goldsilverandiamonds 4 months ago
@goldsilverandiamonds And what 'socialist' policies screwed up america's labour market, exactly? Cos you guy's don't look like you're having much fun from over here either. What with the gap between the rich and poor getting bigger every day.
And why have you been overtaken by China - still a partially 'socialist' country - in the terms of manufacturing. It couldn't have anything to do with capitalism, outsourcing or globalization could it?
democracysdirtywords 4 months ago
@ Greedy, wasteful government and the unsustainable programs they create. Medicare, Social security, ect. but this is not what damaged our labor market our labor market damaged itself along with governments help. GREEDY UNIONS destroyed America's manufacturing competivness with outragous pay and incentives for workers who performed minimal line work. UNION & ENVIROMENTALISTS buying off politicians changed the landscape of American business and law.China has embraced Capitalism it is not foolish
goldsilverandiamonds 4 months ago
@goldsilverandiamonds Greedy unions? Okay now you've just outed yourself for what you are. A profiteering sociopath. No wonder you like capitalism and competition so much. Unions have nowhere near as much power or sway over ANY government as corporate lobby groups. But then, you know this full well. That 'outrageous pay' that they asked for was just asking for a fairer share of the exorbitant profits, that THEY helped to create with their labour. Not much to ask for with inflation skyrocketing..
democracysdirtywords 4 months ago
@gold And china may have embraced capitalism. But with it, it's embraced exploitation. The very reason that workers at FoxConn have been committing suicide at an alarming rate. Those lovely computers and iPods that they've been making, would take a worker years to be able to afford. While us in the western world, can buy those very goods for a week's wage or less, even though the work we do is no more or less important a service than the FoxConn workers.
democracysdirtywords 4 months ago
@goldsilverandiamonds And as for punishing those who choose to be individuals - there is no choice in being an individual, it is just an aspect of being human. Capitalism already discourages individuality, by forcing people to work in a badly-paid job they hate just so they can feed themselves and their family, rather than following their desired career path because "there's just no profit in it". Capitalism revolves around "taking from others" as you put it, so that point also falls flat.
democracysdirtywords 4 months ago
@d Being an individual allows one to express & live by their values & personal choices, communisim does not allow that. Yes being an individual is an aspect of being human thus nature, communisim works against nature. Capitalism does not encourage anything you can choose not to partcipate unlike communism, you do not have to work, sell or buy anything if you choose.Capitalism is not about taking but GIVING or SERVING OTHERS NEEDS FIRST in order to benefit oneself. PROFIT IS THE REWARD FOR SERVICE!
goldsilverandiamonds 4 months ago
@goldsilverandiamonds Sorry, but there is no choice in Capitalism. Either you participate, or you die.
Profit would be the reward for a service if it was fairly shared out among those who have provided the service. But most successful capitalists have come to realise that outsourcing and exploitation of cheap or near-slave labour is the best way to make a profit...
democracysdirtywords 4 months ago
@ No nice try here you can still homestead property, plant food and raise animals if you want, you have choices unlike communisim where you said it right participate or die! You can start a comune and live like you choose. Capitalism is very fair you get out what you put in. Again you have an unrealistic expectation on human nature and man you think life should be FAIR. If life was fair we all would be physically and mentally equal all have the same desires and capacity but were not, lifes not.
goldsilverandiamonds 4 months ago
@goldsilverandiamonds But homesteading is only possible where the land is not owned or claimed by somebody else. Otherwise you must purchase the land from the owner. Then there's the case of buying seeds, water. I've lived on a commune, but here in the UK, you also have to apply (and pay) for planning regulation. Also, in the 1980's, our government declared war against the 'counter-culture' who decided not to participate in the capitalist system, and used police brutality against such groups.
democracysdirtywords 4 months ago
@d The gov. owns it and allow for homesteading much of America was developed this way. It is given to those willing to move and develop it. Seeds are abundant so is poultry trade your labor for them. The U.K. is messed up no doubt. You are confusing your socialist system with the econmic system of capitalism. Why anyone would not want to partcipate in a capitalist system boggles my mind. Why would I not want the chance to compete, learn and grow my skills as a human while being rewarded for it.
goldsilverandiamonds 4 months ago
@goldsilverandiamonds Sorry, but the UK is no 'socialist' system. Hasn't been since the 1980's when Thatcher decided to sell off all our public transport infrastructure. We still have the NHS, but after the recent collapse of the capitalist system - thanks to the banks and exploitative businesses - it looks like we'll have to privatize most of that as well...
democracysdirtywords 4 months ago
@ Well the rest of the world thinks so. But then again progressives love to revise history or redefine terms just like you have been doing this whole time. How much does your government let you keep of your money? How much are you taxed at every corner. I heard you have to pay to watch government run TV but you are not socialist very funny. Your banking problems like ours are not due to Capitalism they are due to criminals in both private business and government. Stop generalizing. THINK!
goldsilverandiamonds 4 months ago
@goldsilverandiamonds Oh yeah, we pay the equivalent of $6 a month for a television license. What an extortionate socialist regime!
The banking problems weren't due to just a few criminals, they were due to the deregulation of the banks and allowing the "free market to do what it does best", as Reagan and Thatcher said at the time. This, compounded with the human greed that you mentioned earlier, helped to create the situation that we have now.
democracysdirtywords 4 months ago
@de I guess you are blind to the anti capitalist movement in your country and within your government....I guess this had nothing to do with it. The U.K is home of banking and currency trading it is what you are known for If you I would seem someone in your country is doing quite well right now and I sure they reside in political office. An as far as the crisis the Rothchilds of your country are quite well known for this kind of thing. Massive social government obligations are also to blame.
goldsilverandiamonds 4 months ago
@ Hahaha and now you the Rothschild conspiracy? Oh, I wish you'd said that earlier, it would have made it clear just how insane you are, and this conversation could have ended much sooner.
Yes there are a few people doing pretty well in our country right now. Namely the owners of banks, corporations and arms dealers -our second biggest industry.
We, like the US, have slowly become a 'service economy', precisely because big businesses are outsourcing their labour to countries who exploit workers.
democracysdirtywords 4 months ago
@d You might want to study some banking history before you poo poo the Rothchilds. I am far less insane then you. You live in a world of fantasy should be's I live in reality.
Those that are doing well are serving the needs of others by the choice of those whom choose to do business with them. See how that works? You are not exploting cheap labor nor is the U.S. ,business and money go th where they are welcome and respected the U.K. and sadly the U.S. have become hostile business enviroments.
goldsilverandiamonds 4 months ago
@gold So you're telling me that UK and US businesses AREN'T exploiting cheap third-world labour and resources, and yet I'm the one who lives "in a world of fantasy"?
But then again, you seem to accuse everyone who disagrees with you of being some sort of 'Commie' fantasist. Even the Rothschild Group - one of the worlds wealthiest banking groups - are apparently in on some anti-capitalist conspiracy according to you. What a truly demented individual.
democracysdirtywords 4 months ago
@d Are you exploting items on sale in your local stores? Do you not shop for value? You are the consumer who WANT'S LOWER PRICES.......ITS YOU THAT IS EXPLOITING LABOR THEN!!!! But who cares what people are paid what matters is what you can buy with it, I would be happy just to make 5 hr. if it bought more not less. The reality is GREEDY UNIONS jacked up labor prices and fucked over all of us with first higher prices then loss of jobs and manufacturing in our countries. You are truly ignorant.
goldsilverandiamonds 4 months ago
@goldsilverandiamonds Yeah, cause making those Nike trainers in sweatshops really helped make them cheap didn't they?
Those 'greedy unions' asked for a fairer share of the profit that their labour created. But the company shareholders decide the only way to raise wages is to raise prices, because the GREEDY SHAREHOLDERS don't want to lose out on their original exorbitant share of the profit.
Anyway, keep those ad hominem attacks coming. They make you seem so very intelligent.
democracysdirtywords 4 months ago
@goldsilverandiamonds Also, lower prices aren't the be all and end all. That's a very simplistic view of consumer attitudes. You're forgetting that consumers also want quality, as well as value for money. And as they say - "if you pay peanuts...".
P.S "WANT'S"? Who is this 'Want' guy that possesses "lower prices"? I'd like to find that guy.
democracysdirtywords 4 months ago
@ Wow your a person who is an anti capitalist but yet you DO NOT WANT lower price strange values you work off of. Not all consumers can afford quality this is what you communists bitch about wage disparity and the poor. However the middle class looks for value including quailty yet price is shown to be a very big factor in purchasing....just not in your case. Ever hear of ALDI or IKEA? They have made billions serving the wants and needs of the consumer who choose to save money and exploit labor.
goldsilverandiamonds 4 months ago
@g No, IKEA and ALDI sell products that appeal to people, and that are 'reasonably' priced. IKEA, for example, make their products cheaper by using less expensive materials and automated mass production. They also happen to exploit workers, and their union is currently campaigning for an improvement in working conditions. And I agree, that not all consumers can necessarily always afford quality, but then that would most likely be a problem concerning their own low and unfair wages...
democracysdirtywords 4 months ago
@d No they sell to a market that values LOW PRICE and reasonable QUALITY. Again money and business go to where they are welcomed, respected and valued...the conusmer is welcomed, respected and valued by these companies because they offer what the consumer WANT'S.GREEDY UNIONS increase costs of goods by their unreasonable demands they do not respect or value the business that employs the employee and that is why businesses leave, close or look for places where they are welcome ie CHINA.
goldsilverandiamonds 4 months ago
@gold And still with the 'greedy unions' line? Asking for a fair share of profits you create, or improvements in worker conditions are in no way unreasonable demands.
Businesses leave for China, because they know that workers there have little to no rights, and they can exploit them without any annoying government intervention.
But then our western governments know this, which is why some are considering introducing 'site here to sell here' legislation.
