  • Capitalism isn't always best for Democracy, but Democracy isn't always best for humanity.

Democracy is tyranny by the majority.

  • when will people get it the United States is a Republic not a Democracy and yes you morons there is a difference between the two

  • Capitalism and a Democratic Republic are a necessity. Neither can exist with out the other

  • ronpaul2012(dot)com

    Dontate NOW.

  • @ToxinalX Fuck Ron Paul

  • @thesparitan Oh, did I give you something that you can hate on without even having to actually activate that silly little thing you call "brain" ? You're welcome !

  • @ToxinalX Well I will admit " Ron Paul" and not activating one's brain do go hand in hand.

Seriously, did YOU think about what you were saying before you posted?

if the problem is the excesses of unrestrained capitalism, why would we vote for a guy who wants super capitalism on steroids?!

It's like pushing cigarettes in a cancer ward.

  • @booley "if the problem is the excesses of unrestrained capitalism, why would we vote for a guy who wants super capitalism on steroids?!"

The reason you believe all of that is because you've never STUDIED true *free market* capitalism in *detail* and THEN made up your own mind about it.

Do not let the media dictate your knowledge on Ron Paul; The only thing that he would do on his own would be to quit this colonial type offensive war and replace it with a deffence.

  • @booley You should consider the fact that I studied democratic socialism in detail, and fully supported it. Then I studied liberalism and classical liberalism for one year, I started studying capitalism and geopolitical history and have been doing so for about 2 1/2 years.

It is much more simmilar to a bloodtransfusion.

Imagine a badly hurt motorcyklist (anyone really) lying in a bed at the hospital.

He has lost o lot of blood, but the doctor KNOWS that leeches will suck out the bad blood ! ;)

  • Compulsive Hoarding (or pathological hoarding or disposophobia) is the Excessive 'Acquisition' of Possessions (and Failure to USE or Discard them), even if the items are Worthless, Hazardous, or Unsanitary. Compulsive hoarding IMPAIRS 'Mobility' and INTERFERES with Basic Activities, including Cooking, Cleaning, Hygiene, Sanitation, and Sleeping.

  • Look for "The Truth About Robert Reich "

  • It's not like consumers are even being heard - just investors and producers, everyone who already has enough money but needs more more MORE!

  • Reich is a coercive little dwarf freak. Just endless marxist nonsense from a complete doofus.

  • @qwertypoiu4321 Robert Reich is a true intellectual who has the great sense to know that Democrocy and Capitalism, by thier nature cannot work together. That is not difficult, it is common sense if you know what both must have to be what they are. As for him being a Socialist, most intellectuals are because unlike most capitalists like you, we have actually read Adams Smith's "Wealth of Nations"

  • @genious4real 52.24% of society enslaving the minority percentage of the population is criminal mob rule (democracy). People whom solicit coercive mob rule are criminals and should be charged as such. You can not have any form of intellect and believe in the fallacious LTV fantasies of thug marxists.

  • @qwertypoiu4321 The people who beat my family in the head in America for wanting to vote were not "thug marxists"!!! Everything marx said has proven to be correct and it is being played out today in America!!! The rich have most of the wealth and since they do not spend enough to justify the further production of goods and services mass layoffs follow. The middleclass do not make enough in total to carry the economy. They borrow to justify the frozen wages that do not keep of with the cost of

  • @REASONINFUSION The basis of Marx's fallacious philosophy is the unicorn Labor Production Theory of Value, a complete fallacy. All of the other dependent fallacious based off of the unicorn LTV are therefore refuted immediately. You know nothing.

  • @qwertypoiu4321 Capitalism feeds on the underclass! that is a fact. It does not benefit capitalists to pay anymore than will keep you working for them! that is a fact. The superstructure that keeps people thinking working hard will get them to the top of society exists! Every thing Marx has said about capitalism is true and that is why most of the brightest people in the world are socialist leaning.

  • @REASONINFUSION That is just more fallacious LTV nonsense. Have you ever heard of Marginal Revenue Product, doofus? Marx's whole 'philosophy' was based off of the unicorn LTV, which denies the reality of demand and scarcity giving value.

  • Comment removed

  • @qwertypoiu4321 You can call names from a safe distance if you choose, but the facts are the facts! Take the SUPERSTUCTURE, that shit you people like to say about "PULLING YOURSELF UP BY YOUR OWN BOOTSTRAPS" what a croc!!!! the least likely person to ever have to "PULL THEMSELVES UP BY THEIR OWN BOOTSTRAPS" is a fucking white male!!! The entire systems history (read the history of your supreme court) was to protect your advantage!!! tell that shit to someone else.

  • @REASONINFUSION The Marxist 'Superstructure' fantasy is just one of the cruder LTV myths, all of which are refuted since the LTV is a fantasy.

  • @qwertypoiu4321 Scientic racism was invented by European whites and perfected by americans! Since it was designed to convince blacks they deserved their "position" and to convince the world that blacks were "the other " and thus had to be dealt with in the manner they were, Marx's definition of the Superstructure is an appropriate one.

  • @REASONINFUSION For some incoherent reason you went from LTV ET 'superstructure' nonsense to unrelated ramblings on 'scientific racism'. If you supply human demand better you will receive a higher income, period. The LTV ET 'superstructure' fantasy is a self-refuting myth.

  • @qwertypoiu4321 That is complete bullshit!! Do you know anything about capitalism or does it reward your mediocrity so well you refuse to criticize it? if the owners of capitlal chose to pay according to the labor's worth domestically they would not move to other countries! It does not behoove any capitalist to pay any more than will keep you working for them. A livable wage is not the first concern! Read more and get your head out of your ass.

  • @REASONINFUSION Companies--like, say, SunPower--are forced to move to other countries because the US coercively forces businesses to pay more than the marginal revenue product of the workers, coercively making them pay out more than is being produced. Marginal Revenue Product is your ability to supply human demand, which is what sets a workers' profit. LTV ET is fallacious since it is based off of and dependent of the unicorn LTV; workers get paid their marginal revenue product, nothing else.

  • @qwertypoiu4321 Workers get paid what the employer believes the labor is worth. Cut the bullshit. The freezing of wages and the low raises are now common place because the worker has little choice to accept it. He is " compelled" to work for an unfair wage or starve. Do not tell me that companies pay more in taxes than they take in in revenue!!!! you know better than that. tell that crazy nonsense to someone who does not know the evils of capitalism and it's blood sucking method of operation.

  • @qwertypoiu4321 cost of living. When they can no longer borrow they cut back on spending purchasing less goods and services and sending the economy into a spiral. There is too much wealth a the top of the pyramid and that money is not put back into circulation. Capitalism has failed the people again!!!!!

  • @qwertypoiu4321 Uh, your opinion is shit and you are a fucking asshole

  • @TeenCretin The unicorn labor theory of value is a myth; that is not an opinion, that is a fact. That fact I even have to explain that to you really says it all.

  • corrupt ass governments everywhere

  • Robert Reich: "While male construction workers needs not apply"

Reich is socialist piece of shit.

  • capitalism is only good for greedy, selfish hard working people and the rich people and politicians.because they can become more rich by investing their money and make other people suffer and competition will eliminate many competitors and make them poor making few people rich and they will use most of the resources of the country.

  • Robert Reich is one of a few people who know what they are talking about when it comes to the American economy.

  • we do not have a real democracy. Money has no real value. Capitalism is evil. the curent economic system we currenty have exists to maintain the status quo, the rich monopolise the wealth. Death.. the reaper crawls towards society, the wolves gather at the doorsteps. Money shall be the end of human society, unless it changes.

  • Corporate lobbyists exist BECAUSE GOVERNMENT has decided that it is going to control business for the "good of society.

That sounds good but in reality it just equals a lot of random tax credits and binders full of rules that create an incentive for business to run to Washington to get their share...in actual capitalism this bullshit is much less prevalent

  • Don't corporations make life better for dirt poor third--world denizens that will do anything for a job?

  • Free Market Fascism is good for capitalism.

  • No, capitalism is not always good for democracy - andit shouldn't be. There are plenty of over-regulated and/or over-taxed democracies that don't get the benefits of capitalism. The same argument applies to the question "Is democracy always good for capitalism". Unless it's a mutually beneficial relationship, neither system will benefit.

  • F@(k you Robert you racist

  • Shouldn't the question be 'Is democracy good for capitalism?'

  • Robert Reich authored NAFTA and is a traitorous piece of shit elite that needs to be killed.

  • look dude hes a little MIDGET!!!!! ha ha haaaaaaaaa

  • I don't see how violations of anti-trust law & lobbyist or crony manipulation have anything to do exclusively with Capitalism. Reich's humanist tone may hypnotize the Berkley hipsters, but it's just his ideology. As if UNIONS don't have lobbyists. Ya think Greece is in turmoil cuz of US, or could it be cuz all the state workers are always on break? Sorry Robby's just a socialist fraud, tells u how to fix ur car with his under a tarp on bricks. No one deserves $ just for being born human-shaped.

  • YES! And Reich is hack and not an economist.

  • want full employment?

    Eliminate payroll taxes.

    Fund FICA/Medicare with a non-regressive National Sales Tax (3%)

  • Upward mobility has become increasingly hard in the current economic system...most of you blindly support pure capitalism because you feel that your opportunity to increase wealth will always be there. Yet many of you will stay right where you are....it is amazing that you are such disciples of a system that will keep you stagnant.

  • Ive read his famous bookn I think its an amazing material to understand the bases of 21st century American Capitalism. Thanks to GetAbstract

  • Capitalism is GREAT for democracy. But democracy will destroy capitalism, unfortunately

  • How could a country that's produced so much wealth, education and technological miricals and has so many immigrants running our way its not funny.....could it really be a bad thing?

  • Capitalism, is not and can not be compatible with democracy, private businesses are, by their very nature, undemocratic and authoritarian.

  • "Is Capitalism Always Good for Democracy?" LOL that's like asking "Is smoking always good for the lungs?"

  • Capitalism is always good .

  • the question is: Is Capitalism *Ever* Good for Democracy?

  • @jum401 Is democracy ever good for anything? Democracy is nothing but mob rule, where the majority can take away the rights of the minority. Also, this guy is not describing capitalism, but crony-capitalism.

  • @HerrSchenkel i don't get it m8... should it be the minority taking away the rights of the majority? is the master more dignified than the slave?

  • @jum401 No one should be taking away anyone's rights. Whether it's a majority or minority doing it change the fact that it's wrong. I don't believe in masters and slaves; only free people working for their own benefit.

  • @HerrSchenkel oh, i c... And that would be what? capitalism?

  • @jum401 Yes, capitalism. That or anarchy if people's rights could still be protected. Capitalism is what naturally occurs between humans if all the government does is provide a currency, enforce contracts, and prevent the initiation of force. But I'm open to more anarchist ideas such as voluntary "taxation" for defense and private currency.

  • @HerrSchenkel Oh... a peace loving, law enforcing (who's law?), currency issuing government! As is the case in the USA, might i assume?

  • @jum401 I don't see what exactly you're getting at, that because America claims to be capitalist, that all of the messed up things it does is capitalist? It doesn't matter who does it. Hong Kong and Singapore do capitalism way better than we do.

  • @HerrSchenkel you must be talking about your own, private version of capitalism m8... that's what i am getting at. What u describe has never happened. Never. Since the beginning of industrial revolution issuing money has been --mostly-- a private matter. It still is...

  • @jum401 Actually, it's quite the opposite. Money used to be bank notes for whatever gold they had deposited, that's private money. But nowadays, currency is issued by the government, and in the US, recent attempts to make a private form of bartering currency was stopped by the Federal Government.

  • @HerrSchenkel dream on m8...

  • @jum401 Dream on? About historical fact? Perhaps we're having a language disconnect.

  • @HerrSchenkel

    w w w(dot)complementarycurrency(dot)org

38 complementary currency systems operating in usa, 2 stopped

  • @jum401 Do.... Do you even read history? Really? I mean, you HAVE picked up a history book covering capitalism and/or human nature/psychology at some point... Right?

  • @jum

No it's not, wow you're ignorant. Maybe you're one of the people who won't mind giving his money to the Bank of England to redistribute because that's exactly what happens when they print their fiat currency in the enforced Central Banking system. You can't even spell properly. Gold was stolen from everyone who owned it (everyone who owned currency) by banks moving off the gold standard or off redeemable-note standards to allow banks to counterfeit and survive-impossible in a free market.

  • @Nintendomanwill I beg your pardon???

  • @Nintendomanwill

"No it's not"??? *what* "is not"? I can't spell properly? Maybe because i am Greek, English is not my first language -- try to see my point even if spelled wrong. Fiat currency, gold stolen and all... Yep. I know... Be more specific about your disagreement m8...

  • @jum401

"Since the beginning of industrial revolution issuing money has been --mostly-- a private matter. It still is..."

    No it's not.

  • @Nintendomanwill What central bank is controlled by what democratic institution?

  • @HerrSchenkel

BTW have you noticed that Robert Reich is insane? He's a big-government cronyist (those two things can't be disconnected) yet he's railing against legislative regulation that harms competition. So he knows how dangerous is his big-government Weltanschauung. Listen to his strawman caricature of Microsoft lobbying to increase the threshold of antitrust, what a sick man, it's government that induces companies to use force in that way! No compunction for this Statist filth!

  • @HerrSchenkel Voluntary "taxation?" A corporatocracy running a protection racket? Yeah, that sounds like fun.

  • @bloggertree that's a good idea, but good luck with that.

  • @bloggertree couldn't agree more

  • After much reading, and attempting responses to nonsensical rhetoric, I've come to a conclusion;

Americans don't understand anything about Capitalism, Democracy, Communism, Fascism, Nazis, or Socialism.

  • @rocketguy2004

Yeah cause you totally understand the economy.

  • @satv365

This country was more socialist before Obama showed up. I don't think socialism is good, I think Capitalism is killing democracy (and I thought that long before this video, much like the rest of America that hasn't been poisoned by the news). You think you can go read the Wikipedia definition of socialism and tell me what I think? The government already owns all your shit buddy. What next? Tell me I'm pro-death panels? Those already exist too. You're obviously on the right.

  • @satv365 I'm not preventing anyone from free speech, but a privately-owned website also has the right to impose standards. I suspect it's not free speech that's really at issue for you, because it's really about speech that you like.

By the way, Leftists aren't the only ones who "dislike" pro-Hitler Nazi hate speech - but your assumption says volumes about you.

  • @satv365

Reagan sucked. The red states all suck. You suck.

If anyone needs me, i'll be on the left.

  • Communism and Capitalism are just flip sides of the same jewish-owned coin which Hitler fully understood. Hitler liked "industrial capitalism" but opposed "interest capitalism" so that threatened the jew bankers who funded the British, USSR and USA empires. So all of the jews conspired to instigate WW2.

"Now Germany is against the power of evil incarnated in the Anglo-Saxon/Soviet coalition managed by the Jews." - Luis Blanco telegram to Francisco Franco right after USA teamed with the USSR

  • Does YouTube have no standards when it comes to racist pro-Nazi hate speech?

  • The false premise that this based on that capitalism = lobbyism. Congress's pliability to lobbiest is anti-market and anti-capitalist. Pro-business is often anti-market, hence anti-trust laws.

It's not capitalism that's the problem, it's the politicians and the federal government meddling.

  • @pistonengine08 You're only talking about free market capitalism. The problem with that theory is that real-world capitalists have no interest in it except as window-dressing ideology for the easily bamboozled. And how in the world would you get corporate-lobbied politicians to stop the gravy train? It's just one of those inherent contradictions that reality imposes on theory.

  • Capitalism = supply and demand, unrestrained. What's wrong with that? Do people enjoy being deprived? The blame should be on the market, not the ideology itself. Irresponsibility and ignorance can wreck even the most notable of political/economic systems.

  • @cherylwens

Money is corruption buddy. When the system teaches that greed is good, of course the guys with the most money are gonna go try to deregulate their industry, so they can have all the money. The ideals of the system cause that irresponsibility and ignorance, and reward it.

Also, Buddhism teaches that suffering is caused by desire :)

  • Yeah money is corruption. So stop asking rich people like me to corrupt the poor with donations. If you have a problem with the rich hurting your interests, then stop giving them money. Did you boycott google for their tax avoidance? If not, you're just one of the many sheeps that complained when they are fucked by the very people they allocate power to. Greed is good and you know it. That's why you own a computer when children are deprived of food in Africa.Haitians also knew that greed is good

  • @cherylwens

The supply and demand part isn't where Capitalism is corrupt. I'd tell you how stupid everything in every paragraph you typed is, but I'm already 100% that you'd call me socialist and go beat off at a tea party rally whilst drinking a Keystone Light. So, with all due respect, go fuck yourself.

  • Many of them had no qualms in blaming the "white man" for not giving enough aid and not fast enough in the aftermath of the earthquake. Greed is good. It captures the evolutionary spirit. It tells us that animal meat is not enough. You gotta cook and embellish it into an art form. What do you have against ambition and hard work? Harm is correlated with desire and greed, it's not caused by it. Do not confuse correlation with causality.

  • Warren Buffett, that greedy man who refuses to retire and stop earning money, has done more for society and charity than you can ever dream of. Of course, you will suffer when you invest your energy into fulfilling your desires. But with money and power, you become energy-efficient, so to speak. You no longer need to fetch water from the river, for example. Power is the means by which we reduce suffering. Only through desire can we attain power. Stop kidding yourself.

  • You may be able to fast as a buddhist monk, but you can't starve forever. Eventually, the desire to eat overpowers you and you start to eat. Suffering is intrinsic in life. You either choose to endure it temporarily by sacrificing yourself to gain power or you suffer permanently by not striving for power. At least the Dalai Lama is smart enough to desire for free air flights to different countries to get people to listen to him. He seems to enjoy the attention, if you ask me.

  • capitalism isnt bad, it's corporatism thats the problem, it spawned itself from major industry and big government. If we keep thhose in check we can succeed

  • why am i watching this shit in my free time?

  • He speeks the truth just the Republican beuracrats dont like the truth; it hurts.

  • Capitalism is simply free trade in an open market as long as government keeps out of it. The free market can govern and maintain itself. It only fails when government interferes. Three things made America great and in this order. GOD, Freedom and Capitalism.

  • sigh. go to university. what happens is that the open market gets controlled by oligarchies and monopolies, you know, that game you play with your boring, no-doubt white family every second month or so. that is when the governemnt is supposed to jump in and save all the workers sorry asses. to bad the GOVT crew in the us is run by bankers. not to mention the rest of the world.

but yeah.. as to your 3 things: lol.

"the free marke can govern and maintain itself". yes. at the expense of 1 and 2

  • fnny a jew would thumb your comment down whathoney73

  • the 3 tings america REALLY made great.

    war, war and guns

  • Ok ForaTv if you are so intelligent then why do you play this man?

First off WE LIVE IN A REPUBLIC !

    ALWAYS HAVE!

A Democratically elected Republic you moron!

Second what is wrong with "The People" having lobbyists in DC!

Without US those companies do not exisit! We are the people who make those companies what they are so WE who work for them want to be represend ....

    WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT?

Its called "Freedom of speech" you angry midget !

  • This guy is a fucking idiot

  • Good thing we live in a Republic huh?

  • people are so rancorous. this is the reason we move at a snails pace in life. there can be no civil deliberation if there is no civility

  • Lobbyists are in washington because the government has a coercive monopoly. This isn't the effect of capitalism, it's the effect of the state's right to tax, inflate, regulate, errect trade barriers etc etc et fucking cetera

The same changes this asshole advocates are the poison that's killing this country, he's just baffling

  • Exactly just like the health care industry !

You have Democratic Socialists like Reich out there bashing capitalism...

As they blame the healh insurance induatry for the MONOPOLY THAT GOVERNMENT CREATED ...

It was government that allowed the health care industry to gain a monopoly in the first place..

The comanies themselves can not pass legislation...

So are these people trying to tell us that business can grant itself exemptions from ani trust laws?

  • @Sam26100

Reich is nothing short of sick. You know, all of these professors and politicians work together, quid pro quo, it's a cartel of violence and abrogation of the free market and the state academic dislike of the private sector is just a lubricant for that effect because academics get funding from govt to promote interventionism by warped (and barely impressive) sophistry. I hate all the uni students who think they're smart because they lap up the bullshit fed by the academic-state complex

  • @Nintendomanwill AMEN!

  • @Sam26100 I didn't see the whole video, only this youtube clip. What changes is Robert Reich advocating? ( I agree with you about the State's effect )

  • @Decentralism He was touring the nation's universities before the healthcare legislation passed. I know a few people who saw him speak and were convinced by his rhetoric that healthcare shouldn't be in private hands at all.

  • @Sam26100 lol.

  • @Sam26100 The state exists to serve the coercive monopoly of profits. He hasn't suggested any changes, but the solution isn't increasing the power of the state: it's smashing capitalism and replacing it with a rational, democratic system. I'm having a bit of a problem there myself: democratic != rational, IMHO. But just as increasing state power in the current system doesn't yield good results, neither does deregulating industry. It's our job as human beings to try to reign in both.

  • @dogafro Capitalism by definition is a political and economic system characterized by private ownership over means of production I.E CAPITAL

A state that "serves the coercive monopoly of profits" (I'm assuming you mean of corporations and other "special interests" is actually violating the principle of private ownership by taxing and regulating some in order to help out their friends.

that's not Capitalism, that's "mixed economy"/fascism/corporatism/mercantilism maybe but NOT Capitalism

  • @Sam26100 Yeah but I don't think you have actually considered the implications of democracy or capitalism.. millions starve every day in countries not so different from our own because the fat cats sit in thier towers eating through the wealth which, yes they have earnt, but they should share. I'm sorry but 4,000 years for democracy is enough and it's time we changed to either extreme, preferably communism.

  • @Saluotok You need to watch a documentary I just watched a few days ago called Soviet Story, it's available online for free. I was born in a communist country, my family lived through that hell, so no thanks.

People don't starve BECAUSE of productive rich, I agree that there are rich who get that way by fraud and partnerships with the government, that's why the government should be separated from the ability to influence economics.

But the productive rich aren't the CAUSE of starvation

  • @Saluotok North Korea is a communist country. Have you seen a picture of it at night?

  • Capitalism and Democracy can coexist, but what we have is a Capitalistic Anarchy. The rich and greedy politicians will always tell you class warfare never works.Well, let's just try and see...

  • We have a capitalistic anarchy?

    wtf are you smoking?

Do you even know the definition of capitalism, let alone anarchy?

  • Isn't this the guy that said jobs shouldn't just go to qualified individuals and/or whites? Reich is 4 foot 10 inches tall... I think his brain growth was stunted as well.

  • Are you investing to make money or establish policy? This guy is a fucking liberal scumbag, who has no business talking economics. He is a piss poor advocate for what Capitalism is supposed to be, Obama's Bitch. Communists living in states should leave for China, see how happy you are living there, you pinheads.

  • Guess who China has been looking towards for guidance in Economics? the U.S.A! mind you they are having second thoughts now....

  • @moob744 lol, they were having second thought at the time they started stockpiling our (Australian) commodities well before the recession. people knew it was coming, the masses didn't. the masses can't complain about what they don't understand, right?

  • capitalist blood sucking vampire system,i hope it'll end soon enough to watch how it failed, fucking criminals, all capitalists should be shot in the head

  • Why aren't you living in China so you can better embrace communist ideals?

  • A tad extreme Comrade? isn't discussion first the way? not "shoot first-talk-later!?"

  • capitalism is a cancer. do not argue

  • true capitalism is the most democratic system that ever lived, these lobbiest are destroying capitalism!!!!!

  • Lobbyists are in washington because that is were the monopoly and power are. It is so odd Reich is saying leaches competing over power backed by government force is similar to capitalism. The answer is to eliminate the coersive monopoly! Not try to violate the laws of economics!

  • He is absolutely right! Capitalism and democracy aims at different directions, and there is little room for discussion on it.

  • Comment removed

  • You should watch the video again and try to understand. And please know your definitions. Fascism goes against individualism and unrestreined capitalism. Coorporations here are not governmed by the government, something that goes against facism.

Again, capitalism and democracy aim at different directions. Do some researchs, read some books on both topics and then try to dispute my claims.

  • you sir are an idiot. do you have any notion of what fascism is? or capitalism, for that matter?

  • The only way to rectify Reich's remarks is to amend them to say that he believes in less competition among private citizens. The only alternative to less competition in a capitalistic society is socialism, which leads to a reduced quality of life for all. There is no way to win if you can't compete. Remember that forced equality, or equal outcomes, can only be wrought by government. The "citizen side of my brain" will not be voting for President Obama.

  • Remember, to Robert Reich you are too stupid to know how to know what's best for you in a free society. He never made the baseball team in high school so he wants less competition. What Reich says is artificial, nebulous construct which unfortunately is impossible to refute. The "consumer side of our brains" contrasted with the "citizen side of our brains" is a ridiculous concept to behold. A business hires lobbyists in order to ensure that its stakeholders' interests are represented.

  • This guy is a fucking joke. Can some one tell this idiot that this is a democratic-republic founded on the principles of liberalism, economically and politically. Real capitalism does not have lobbyists, but mercantilism does. The failure of our economic system is due to everything but capitalism.

  • Businesses are voluntary. Governments are coercive. Next.

  • Let's get unions and enthusiasm for unions STARTED again!

We just got to do it.

I will write the speeches to begin this, all I need is an orator.

It is the middle class and the worker against everybody else (Corporate America, land owners, the "R's" who ignorantly try to impose their values on us, etc.)

ALL WE WANT ARE FAIR WAGES TO MAKE A LIVING. We thank the wealthy and to some degree business for providing us with jobs, BUT we deserve better. ...Fight for that!

  • Raise the wages the prices go up! The prices go up the higher wage no longer matters! Stack on top of the the democ_rats high taxes and over regulation on the wealthy and corporate America and the only ones who pay the price are the lower and middle class! Pure Marxism!

You should know better! Shame on you!

  • Level the playing field; ...level the playing field.

    Spend, spend, spend.

Screw Corporate America and the "R's" for imposing their values on us. Hell if anyone needed that type of help, he/she is welcome over, we will read the Gospels together .

    Greed vs. rational self-interest.

My hands aren't dirty, I can smile.

  • My hands aren't dirty either...

And who is imposing their values on you?

  • Fuck Robert Reich. He's a disgrace.

  • ROBERT REICH IS A GREAT CITIZEN. He's awesome.

(Harvard educated like some of my professors, and speaks and leads with brilliance.)

  • He looks like the midget from the show wild wild west.

  • Contact Robert Reich !

    w w w(dot)robertreich(dot)org/reic h/contact(dot)asp

  • anthropology...

    and yes.

  • Well he does lol.

  • He looks like the midget from the show wild wild west.

  • Wait till all housing & construction projects FAIL & Fall DOWN due to INFERIOR construction & Quick Build Practices.

I Refuse to BUY nor even RENT housing that was built or that originated AFTER 1980 due to its inherent instability based upon builders who hired illegals knowingly to greedily put the extra Money in THEIR Pockets & whose workers have had No Stake or Investment in THIS country & without care of commitment Built carelessness Into every Project.

    Can't wait.

    Hahahahaha

    Idiots!!

  • i like capitalism.

it follows the basic rules of the universe that have been in play for millions of years.

    there is competition.

those who are intelligent and able to adapt prosper.

those who are unable to adapt don't do so well.

it has worked for every single species that has ever walked this earth... so why shouldn't it work for us?

also... as i'm sure someone has already pointed out... america is not a democracy. america is a republic...

  • Sorry, but this is a place for serious ideas, not social Darwinism.

  • you're talking about social darwinism like DANxCHORIN pointed out. it's not based on science. it's just propaganda for capitalists.

and how does capitalism 'work' for 'us'? how is capitalism 'working' while hundreds of millions of people in this world are starving yet the top 1% in this world continue to get richer and richer?

  • Do you know where you would fucking be if it wasn't for capitalism? If it wasn't for menger, mises, hayek, you and me would be fucking serfs somewhere, enslaved by someone with a hereditary title.

  • so that makes capitalism good? that's not a very good argument. slavery was good for the economy of the south in early america. does that make kidnapping blacks from their home country and enslaving them good?

  • @Questfortruth86 "If you don't give the rich the more money, they won't have the incentive to invest, and we'll all start working at a forced labor camp in Bangladesh! Big corporations keep us safe! Be very afraid!"

    Take your Reaganomics elsewhere.

  • @3xDecker

    I like Hitler.

He had amazing amounts of trust from his people.

He fixed the German economy after WWI.

He capped of the rising population.

He posed for pictures with cute fuzzy animals.

If I only focus on the good things, sure it'll look appeasing. And yes America is a republic... don't remind me.

  • Bad for Democracy, sure is.

    Good for a Republic.

America is a Republic, I wish that these SOB's would adhere to the constitution.

  • His speech is pure propaganda, the kind of talk I expect from a Soviet apparatchik in '70's. The bad news is that his side has won, their in power. The best thing a real capitalist can do while these "citizens" take over is to get his/her money out of dollars and into an economy that isn't going to collapse.

  • R.O.B.E.R.T.

R.E.I.C.H. = "Ruining Our Beloved Economy Really Takes Reich's Impugning Capitalism Here"

  • @Acronym77

Acronym = A capitalist regime only needs yes-men.

I'm more clever than you :)

  • Well he's right that capitalism threatens "democracy", but considering capitalism is about freedom of choice and democracy is about mob rule, I prefer capitalism.

You can say "no" to a corporation a lot more easily than you can a bureaucrat with a court order and armed backup.

  • What really gets me is alot of people have racist agendas and try to "sugar-coat" them with their verbal delivery. If you really watch for this it's funny how obvious it is.

  • Armand Hammer stated it correctly, communism destroys incentive and people are incentive driven.

  • Communism plain and simple. Communism does not work!

Look at the USSR in the late 70s and China in the early 90s. Look at Cuba NOW! That is where communism takes you. No one gets richer. Elite get more power. Promises are broken, and the poor stay poor.

The only reason China is doing god now is capitalism/free market.

  • He forgets there was a reason we were founded to be a Great Republic not a democracy.

The people should be incharge and free to do as they please the governemnt is only around to enfore that individual freedom not gain control of the people.

  • Democracy sucks. It is mob rule. And the free market is the where the best rise to the top, best products, best services, best goods. And the INDIVIDUAL decide what is best for them.

So no a free market or capitalism, is very bad for a Democracy. What you what if you want the two together is fascism.

Now, a Constitutional Democrat Republic of course, is the exact opposite of a Democracy. An individual has inalienable rights in a Constitutional Democratic Republic.

  • Judaism is the highest stage of capitalism.

  • Ohh...You're soo cute.

  • If that is true, why are most of the top communists in this world Jews... racism

  • Jewish bankers in London created both capitalism and communism.

  • So assuming I accept what you say as fact, which I don't, does that mean that all "Jews" are bad?

    racism....

Does that mean all the people like you are Jerks?

  • I am a transexual intellectual.

  • with one testicle

  • @bfrance2002

It wasn't racism, that's a provable fact; The Jews invented interest.

  • True, just as always in capitalism...

A pyramid is built with the wealthy Jew at the top subjugating the rest.

  • racism...
