@NesBlu not all indians are dark. Some are actually naturally really pale. Like my mum is. But I know what you mean, Asia in general all wanna be really pale. Being pale shows you don't work outside like the farmers do, meaning that your more rich etc etc.

But for some reason. Pale people go to tanning salons and burn their skin just to get a dark tan. It all depends where you are brought up and what they think looks better

@TheDellanator Well the necessity to be white stems from the caste system. When the aryans settled in india, a race of light skinned people from central asia, they developed a social system in which the darker Indians were considered inferior to due their poor socio-economic status. This way being lighter, represents a higher standard of living and a higher position in the caste system. People who go tanning go for different reasons than people who whiten.

@NesBlu Yes but..Getting lighter with natural products won't harm your skin. Getting darker by going in the tanning bed or going out int he sun and frying your skin is much worse. You'd have to have a pretty damn good reason to go tanning. But all in all, I think anyone should just be grateful of the skin colour they have and not try and change it, if you're an indian whos born with dark skin you shouldn't change it, but if it's a tan, there's nothing wrong with getting rid of it

im surprised that you dont know a huuuuge part of the world wants fairer/lighter skin. Look at countries in Asia, and Africa, and even in N.A which also has dark skkin minorites. Many people around the globe (mostly women) use bleaching creams to make there skin LIGHter.

@lollypop553 It really depends on the culture and personal preference. Many asian countries, for example, see lighter toned skin as beautiful whereas in other countries tanned skin is preferred. Also, some people look better with one over the other or just like it more.

OK I LIED!!!! in winter you get a bit pale-ish because your body temperature drops but the minute you enter your house your blood warms up more and you get back your colour like almost imidiately!

Actually, Tanishaluvzbollywood, I'm black and in the winter I get paler. In the summer I get darker. I'm still brown in the winter, but I look noticeably lighter. It's not so much "climate" (temperature) as is it seasonal (location of the sun), but when the seasons change, so does my skin color.

I know how you feel, my skin tans so easily. I went to a dermatologist and she gave me a cream that helps stop tanning. I heard that if you tann too much or you are very easily tanned, it is easier to get skin cancer. Naturally tanning btw
