  • one of the best designed race cars ever!

  • Great technology and design, agreed, but there's nothing glorious into the days of III reich, when people were cooped, enslaved, subjected to medical experiments and finally killed

  • replica?

  • @ziomalnik yes it sure is....

  • freaking badass video! Thank you for uploading... what a piece of engineering history!!!

  • Replica ?

  • German technology and designg of the Glorious days of the III Reich,

  • My compliments to your V12 Auto Union, mr. sunrisemac.

I have the postwar baby version Auto Union with a quater of cylinders but as much fun. Anyway thanks for sharing, good luck with your grand-prix car.

    joopio

  • are you sure? i thought that they were only V16's but hey what do i know im going to google it lol

  • I'm the one sitting in the car and trying it out so I guess I should know

  • @sunrisemac You lucky bastard! xD

  • @sunrisemac I think that qualifies you

  • @sunrisemac your a fag too

  • @lamage89 yes it is right, V12 on the D's V16 on C's

  • there not v12's there v16's

  • this is a V12

  • There was at least one V12...saw it at Monterey Historics. Also, wasn't the Streamliner a 12 cyl?

  • The streamliner, as driven by Rosemeyer, that is now on show in the Audi Centre Ingolstaadt is built around the V16 C-Type. There are 4 complete V12s in existence one of which is in the video

  • The Typ D was never V16 powered..only the Typ A, B and C were V16... in 1938 they changed the rule to 3.0l race cars which was the end for the 6.0l V16..it was replaced by this double Roots supercharged V12 with 478hp

  • ohh woops lol im dumb oh well sorry people for my ignorance

  • You may have seen the mountainclimb car which has D-type suspension and similar chassis to a D type. This car however is fitted with a V-16 engine, it also sometimes ran with twin rear wheels fitted (see my website).

  • Pretty amazing engineering for 1939.
