  • great :)

  • PT.4 though I've listened to them on repeat many times before; even my sense of smell feels refreshed. I'm no scientist but I think people who do these things daily for long periods of time can develop a totally different brain and way of perceiving life and people. It's almost psychedelic

  • PT.3 Now I notice more that I'm able to keep up with time better & as I write these paragraphs now I truthfully feel like I can draw words from my head & assemble them in a better manner than just last week since doing this exercise. I have to say these things I know what I'm telling you sounds totally stupid & dumb but there is no doubt in my mind they have helped me from being depressed, angry, & worrying about life. Just today I noticed that my music sounds more vivid and refreshing even

  • PT.2 & took it out when I needed to. All weekend I had it in my left nostril and I never would take it out unless I needed to even while I exercised which I must note "really heightened" my experience. What I got from doing this was that I notice I was able to more efficiently pay attention to my surroundings & notice any changes going on in my room or outside. When watching things or people I had a sense of better understanding of their body movements which made me more interested in football.

  • PT.1 when I came out the womb I couldn't breath properly so the doctor put a tube in my left nostril and unfortunately that it made it slightly bigger than the right nostril. kids used to always look at me funny but long story short I grew up not doing so well in math and overall analytical thinking because my brain was and still kinda is imbalanced. Recently I started doing right nostril breathing so for about 3 days I had my left nostril stuffed with paper for as long as I could tolerate it

  • This is so ridiculous it's funny

  • WHY DO SOME PEOPLE HAVE TO BE SO NEGATIVE.. JUST SAY SOMETHING NICE AND LEAVE THE REST OUT!!

  • @DIONNE1229

    BECAUSE CRITICISM IS IMPORTANT.

  • I'm here because of Robert Anton Wilson.

It's funny if you think about it long enough.

  • @bobbygnosis ditto..ho ho ho

  • with Vayu, the Jeeva Sakhti, we must blow the eye of fire, the Sushumna which is the Bhrumadyam and burn there all our passions and desires. This blowing of Sushumna with Vayu is Pranayama. Without knowing this and misunderstanding the meaning of the word Pranayama, people practise it so many ways. Some close nostrils and breath in air forcibly upward through the other one, restrain it, stir the brain, cause madness, consumption and other nervous complications and die out......"

  • @Santi2c

    It dont...

  • I like to do this breathing exercise. I find it very relaxing. DrKayRN

  • darn i cant do that first hand posture to save mi life hahaha, but fantastic videos anyway

  • Question...so when u breathe in do u push your sotmach in and when u breathe out do you expand your stomach like when u are doing kapalabhati?

  • She's Mr. Mackey, mmkay?

  • wow....

I am speechless...This lady was an angel. She looks sooo beautiful and divine.....

    Thnak you thnak you

  • Yoga teachers should not be this handsome to allow the students concentrate on what they are saying ...:-)

  • Excellent teacher, very sattvic...love the way she teaches :)

  • @sudaama108 hey stp insulting her...shes nt a saddik..u shud be ashamed of urself.

  • Excellent teacher, very sattvic...love the way she teaches :)

  • pretty woman!!

  • @Thet3 walking down the street...

  • I agree. Workout instructors are often too chatty, and it distracts me. Just show us.

  • i have a messed messed up nose and i can only breath out of one nostril what should i do

  • @haddon7373 keep at it. It's going to take time to progress physically and a lot of patience, but if you give it time you will certainly improve your breathing and nose structure.

  • thank you... this was very clear and very helpful. I had already tried another video and was left still confused until I found yours. Any tips for those who find themselves tensing a little bit to keep the arm and hand up to the face for longer practice?

  • you can breathe with both nostrils by relaxing your mind. in other words opening up both hemispheres of the brain. The switching throughour the day is caused by letting one hemisphere of the brain dominate the other. A man must truley be whole in his emotions and thoughts in order to achieve this. Thank you for this video because it demonstrates techniques of becoming self aware.

  • i followed your exercise and my left nostril has cleared up ! Thanks

  • dommage qu il n y est pas de soustitre en francais.....

  • thank u sweetie.

  • found it very relaxing

  • She is wonderful!. Every clear.

  • Hi, One of my nostrils is blocked at all time and the blockage alternates throughout the day. Is that natural? I tried blowing my nose but the one nostril has a dry blockage. Please advise.

  • I'm a noobie here at this stuff, so what exactly is the ultimate goal of this? (Sorry if she said it in the video I didn't catch it) Is it to achieve an equilibrium between creativity and logic, or is it to channel certain thoughts at certain times?

  • i wonder which shampoo she use... she needs some yoga practice on her hairs lol

  • I really felt my state change. Amazing.

    And she is beautiful!

  • My body started to tremble while doing this, is that a good or bad sign?

  • you are either breathing too quickly or not enough. Try taking slow, deep breaths and keeping the air flow strong and steady.

  • The trembling can also be the body cleansing itself and preparing for greater energy flows. When you begin opening your nadi channels the body can tremble at times when you are experiencing more prana than usual. I wouldnt say it is bad or good. Just keep breathing. And also try universal truths suggestions.

  • Be careful with these "cleansing" explanations. Nadi sodhana is very gentle.

  • Very good explanation. I've been doing 10 minutes twice a day as per my guru's instructions before my mantra meditation. My right nostril is almost always slightly blocked until I do the Dhanura asana (the bow) which pops the right nostril open from the inside almost immediately. Asana, pranayama and meditation. Can't beat it!

  • Nadi sodhana is really great, very relaxing pranayama! Thank you for this on-line lessons, great to see someone teaching pranayama here on youtube :)

  • The mudra hurts my hand in both positions. Can you use your pointer finger instead?

  • Like pretty much everything in a yoga practice there is some discomfort for a while until you get used to something new. You can do this differently and perhaps for a start it would be fine in my view as I consider it more important to simply get started rather than try to get things perfectly. Ultimately you will be wanting to do this correctly as it all has to do with sensitivity.

  • love this info you are the best works for me. Thank you

  • Namaste for un yogourt? (spanish joke 8D), anyway ... nice vid

  • great video and great insight.... ;)

  • Thanks for an introduction to this mst useful practice:) This has helped my nose alot (and it is pretty messed up!)

  • My left nostril is very dominant. I think this exercise may help get my nostrils in balance.

  • This is very informative. though i had undertaken courses in yoga, this is good! thanks a lot!.

  • nice mole

  • Quick questions with this exercise: I have been following the pranayama outlined in the book Be Here Now by Ram Dass and it says to inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 2, and then exhale for 8. So 1) I have trouble exhaling for the 8 seconds on my right nostril, what does this mean and 2) I read in another book that you should always use a ratio of 1:4:2 which means it would be 4:16:8 for my practice. Is holding the breath for that long dangerous or is it okay as long as I am comfortable with it?

  • Nice to hear you mention BHN - also where I learned Nadi Sodhan in 1972 - The point is to fully inflate the lungs with the inhalation, however long it takes to be sustainable and comfortable. Same with each phase.

The counting is incidental. Find a number that works for you. Or use a mantra. I use "om mani padme hum" - extending the syllables as long as I need to to deeply complete each phase of the cycle, within the comfort zone.

    My channel gives more details....

    namaste ;-)

  • thank you very much

pranayama is interesting but hard to do right i guess...

  • I have synusitis, I think this may well change my life!!! Thank you, I'll be back to comment

  • thanks for posit!! :)

  • This seems like it will help Pranayama :D

    Thanks

  • I have gastric asthma. Is there any exercise routine to keep the heart and the lungs healthy ?

  • Im not a doctor but giving you my honest opnion about Pranayama is yes it will help you,but ask around more but im all most more than postive.

  • how long do u do this for ideally?

  • 10 - 16 hours

  • excellent, this exercise is for cleanse of a nadis and increase the prana in the body. preparation exercise but essential.. best done with prana mudra and viloma pranayam.. at least at first stage..

    greetings from slovenia..

  • thank you soo much this really help me

  • you can do this without using your fingers as well. The goal is actually to breath strongly with both sides so you can replicate the balance of your body with soul. I notice that I switch also throughout the day. As a matter of fact, one of my nostrils would be totally blocked and then switch over. I found that it was my spirit reacting to my surroundings that was causing the switch. Mind body and soul. This is a good technique to begin exploring yourself and I thank you for this Yogayak.

  • Thank you !, Monica

  • Nice video, but she is a little chatty.

  • But were you being a little breathy? ;)

  • @yogayak well said sweety, pls see my other comments and fulfill my request.i love u so much...you are my goddess

  • @MessytheMagicCat Shut the fuck up. She is my angel.

  • Capersushi is partially right here, there are more aspects to be taught. However I doubt this is meant to be taken as an instructional video. Any manual of Hatha Yoga will tell you not to do pranayama without adequate supervision or you can destroy your mind and health.

Anybody who doesn't believe this I invite them to read Light on Yoga by Iyengar or Hatha Yoga Manual by Yogeshwar.

Yoga and especially paranayama is not to be taken lightly and you always need supervision

  • Where is your video. At least we can see something other than read words. Post a video showing us the right way. Your ugly arse don't even need to be in the video.

Just Show US. Or Keep Quiet.

  • I so needeed this!

  • very well done. how about some more classes?

  • Thank you for sharing.

  • One of the most powerful, natural spiritual techniques; she forgets to mention though that the breath should be held in between the inhales and exhales. Try following a 2 to 3 ratio, so inhale and exhale for 8 (2x4); hold in between them for 12 (3x4). This will regulate your entire being; remember to keep the mudra (posture) of your back straight and keep a gentle smile with your toungue a bit in the back of your mouth. This will practice will have anyone reeling in a matter of minutes. :)

  • Ehhh, no. Holding the breath is an advanced practice, & its a completely different Pranayam- Kumbhak. This is Nadi Shodan.

  • This could be good for a powerlifting comp.

    And if using smelling salts/ammonia.

I think this breathing helps before a big lift.

    Cheers.

  • In one ofGandhi's autobiography - I guess he did mentioned that he did this sort of breathing .

  • I think it is OK if we use the thumb and index fingers of one hand. It is easier for me.

    Thank you for the clip.

  • Hoping this helps my breathing with my sinuses and asthma, many thanks

  • very very clear thanks a lot. i would like see more videos from you about pranayama in advance levels. I had seen on tv one day the buddhist were drying a wet blanket on their body by using pranayama
