is it also intercooled? i was thinking of buying on of the turbo kit's from zzp that also had an intercooler with it, for my 99 gp gt, zzp claims it will bump my car from 200hp to 400hp, plus i want to get 2 aftermarket mufflers and a cai
@alexeddy79 it was intercooled at that time yes. Intercooling the car made it more consistant at the track for sure, ZZP were good to me!! Couldn't quite get the right tune through cartuning with my setup so i went there and they got me into high 11's and a popped transmission lol. Then they helped with that problem too! I was only running 12 psi with my setup as it was my daily driver.
maybe they are BS'ing me then. they told me with a COMPG 04 set up and their PT 61 i could hit upwards of 400fwhp but would probably be around 350 with about 9 or 10 psi. i have heard their customer service stinks so i appreciate the heads up!! dude, how suprised are people on the road when you race, or should i say, blow them away? lol
Do you have any back-pressure issues with the Flowmaster? I recently installed a Flowmaster muffler with my 3" turbo-back exhaust, and I have yet to really test the setup. I've heard different things about the Flowmasters--anything from "chambered mufflers are bad for turbos" to "Flowmasters have been tested to have next to NO backpressure at all." Please enlighten me! :)
I have a set up flowmaster super 40's on the car. I have the stock Y with the resonator delete and a magnaflow highflow Cat. As far as back pressure i cannot say i have had an issue at all. But in retrospec when i really wanna play i use my newly installed exhaust cutout with created an extra 41whp on the dyno at WOT. But i enjoy the sound of my flowmasters, just loud enough to be a sleeper and havent given me any issues.
@tylersl14 no added boost at all. Just the difference between being open and closed. Eliminated all the back pressure and made alot more torque. I had it dynoed tuned and it took quite a while to compensate with the cut out open. Different screen name sry, but that was my car. Had to move on from it.
The tranny help up for a bit lol. It is all how u drive i guess. I made it about 2 yrs on my stock 4765E. I blew it in the summer at the track, i snapped the input shaft in 2. But since the video i have done some work to it and turned up the boost! I love the turbo over a supercharger though anyday:D.

how is the tranny holding up? i want to do this to my gtp, just worried the tranny will go quick!
