Just hang out in the GAY DUDE area..... some of my best friends live @ hastings and main so LEAVE them alone I have a friend that made $400,000 2yrs ago in marketing , now lives there DON'T JUDGE THEM until it happens 2 YOU
Man, some of you guys are so rude. This guy is just trying to give a balanced view of what it's like to visit Vancouver, and give newcomers some tips so that they will get the most out of their experience, and some of you are being total jerks about it. There is absolutely no need to call him mean names like 'jackass' and 'idiot'. If you watch some of his other videos you'll see that he and his wife are really nice people. Tearing him down only makes yourself look like the 'jackass'.
You're an idiot. You may have 'traveled' here but you have no idea what the city is like. Anyone watching this video and taking him seriously is an idiot too.
I agree when I lived there, it was great and there was not a lot of crime. Surrey is maybe a problem but not vancouver and the highway was not one time closed when I was there.
Stanleypark is also fine when I was there at night.
Sorry you are not aware of your environment, you are overreacting
wow, there is too much negativity here. The sea to sky highway has had a ton of work done and there are very few accidents. As far as big lumps of snow; in 30 winters there have only been 2 winters where we had real snow. This is a super beautiful city, peaceful and clean. Drugs,crimes,snow,accidents...stop exaggerating please!!!
1) the sea to sky highway has had a lot of work done on it so it's not dangerous anymore.
2) it doesn't snow in "a large lump sum" lol. it snows rarely and usually less than 4inches. snow is heavy, yes but bring down powerlines, branches?? wtf?
3) homelessness n crime? every major city has it. big deal. it will be taken care of before the olympics.
4) ur NOT gonna get shot up in a restaur/club lol. "very common" wow. way to exaggerate!
WTF? Bro... you must be the biggest dork. I'd advise everyone to kick it down hastings its a number one must do. Half the people come to Van for the laxed out drug law. Muppet.
What kind of monkey are you men? R u from USA? or alberta or another city. Cuz you are talking crap in this video you really wanna see a shit hole go to venezuela or another contry in south america.
obviously you've got your head up your ass !! watch the news!.....gang killings are becoming an everyday routine in Gangcouver.....and unlike you, I was born and raised here.
I find this not extremely factual it is just opinion. Moreover, the views expressed are less then correct. Vancouver has a lot of crime? Wow, not really...
This guy is retarded. Main and Hastings is SWARMING with cops, it safe. But there is nothing to see down there anyways just a bunch of junkies, the bank machines down there all close at 10 pm or something.
Boycott the 2010 Canadian Olympics. Each year the Canadian fishing industry kills over a 1/4 million baby Harp Seals for their fur alone. 325,000 in 2007 and 275,000 in 2008. Just "youtube" "Harp Seal Slaughter" right here on Youtube and see exactly what's going on.
"It is not uncommon for restaurants to be shot up, night clubs to be shot up..."
Are you kidding me? It is very uncommon, Vancouver should consider itself lucky. I lived in Vancouver all last year and I could count the number of shootings with my fingers.
Vancouver's last drug laws are not responsible for the shootings as this video claim. If Vancouver cracked down hard on its drug crime then violent crime would literally skyrocket. Look at large American cities.
This guy is talking out of his ass from about 4:10 - 5:45. Seriously, is this satire? East Hastings is a bad neighborhood but I can think of places in SF and Oakland that are MUCH worse, that I would be foolish to walk around in.Not the case here. ha - "stanley park is dangerous" I think the trees will attack you? The only crimes I can think of that are serious threats are car break-ins and getting your bike stolen or stripped if you lock it up on the street. Person on person crimes are rare.
Also, during the olympics avoid driving. There is talk of closing the highway between vancouver and whistler and leaving it only open to the olympic shuttles. Plus I guarantee IMPark who runs all of the parking lots here will jack up their prices as they are known to do.
Wow,starts out like an interesting commentary, then we get to hear how much of an idiot this guy is.......wow just jump buddy!

Thx for the presentation! Always good to have an objective point of view...
Vancouver looks like a great city to live in, but it's also a good thing to know the realities of the city.
I'm thinking about moving to Vancouver, but I'd rather visit it before, to be sure of my choice.
Many people told me there is a lot of violence, gang problems and shootings (unsual for a canadian city).

Nowhere or at no other time in our Nation's history, did they sing it in Italian, Japanese, Polish,
Irish (Celtic), German, Portuguese, Greek or any other language because of immigration.
It was written in English, adapted into French, and should be sung word for word the way it was written.
The news broadcasts even gave the Hindi version translation - which was not
even close to our National Anthem. I am not the least bit sorry if this offends
ANYONE, this is MY COUNTRY

My Grand Dad served in the military, other family
members also served, as well as my wife & I served a combined total of 56
years between us. We made many sacrifices for our country and do not feel we
should feel obligated to allow invited people we've welcomed with open arms to
influence & change our society to better resemble the one they chose to
leave to come here!!! - IF YOU AGREE ABOUT THIS GREAT COUNTRY, SPEAK UP BEFORE
ITS TOO LATE

The recent snowfall: isn't that what you'd hope for? I'd be cool with that.

Our National Anthem - at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics..
Please read and forward to as many Canadians you can think ofThank you
WE ARE PROUD CANADIANS
Bruce Allen is on the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Committee and new Canadians
(specifically Hindi's/Indian's) want him fired for his recent comments outlined
below:
I am sorry, but after hearing they want to sing the National Anthem in Hindi - enough is enough.

am not against immigration. In fact I believe we need more, my ancestors
were immigrants -- just come through like everyone else. Get a sponsor; a place
to lay your head; have a job; pay your taxes, live by the Rules AND LEARN THE
LANGUAGE as all other immigrants have in the past -- and LONG LIVE CANADA!'
It's time we all get behind Bruce Allen, and scrap this Political Correctness
crap. His comments were anything but racist, however, .
