I love Rockabilly and Rock'n'Roll. I've seen the Road Kings, The Hubcaps, The Dead Cricketts, not to mention Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Bo Diddley, The Comets,The Coasters, and the Drifters.
This is rock solid in every way. It's pretty hard not to love this. I got two weeks back pay, and there's gas in the car. I'm thinking the car's an old Cadillac or at least a convertible. I love the pool tables. I can almost smell the place.
My brother (Steve Doerr of the Leroi Brothers) is playing the white guitar in the back. That is the original Leroi Brothers Lineup (Steve Doerr, Don Leady and Mike Buck), and I am pretty sure that was the first and last time they ever covered Marie Marie and they still rocked the shit out of it. Ray and Ronnie were damn lucky the Leroi Brothers were backing them up.
Corney ? yeeeees !. Stock in a hair spray company ? Oh , for sure ! But if -- If now, they would cut the B/S and just sing the song, I think I like it better them the lead singer of the Blasters. Add to that the history behind Ray Campi, you could have a very geat group here and not even know it.
Boy I don't know ??? This sounds pretty solid to me. I like the Blasters but for some reason the way these guys do the song sticks with me all day long !
Besides, who gives a shit what a president listens to? I know Bush had 'Brown Eyed Girl' on his iPod.. Actually, I kinda liked that song less after learning that..
When listening to this I it makes me feel like the world wouldn't be a bad place at all. This cover is the best of all the covers I could find in youtube.
Great, but I can't believe that some gentlemen are casually playing on the pool table at the same time (totally unfazed/interested in the music). Outrageous!
Hippies and rockabilly in Austin Texas. It is amazing but Steve Doerr doesn't look much different now. Sure, the young gun look is gone but he makes a handsome old gun too, and I don't have a gay corpustle in my body although I don't care if everyone else does. Hahaha. I think Butch Hancock had something to do with the production of this show shot in a warehouse at 5th street and I-35 in the 80's. I think it was called Dixie's Beer and Bus Stop. But I admit I am sometimes wrong.
I was there quite often for The Barn Dance. Ronnie was great. I think he still does that in Southern CA somewhere. I am in Tennessee now. I was Herman Schmerdley there.

Yeah because they probably would have butchered this song without the stellar help of the bros backing them up. Whew, good thing they were there...

Bush is a big Brian Setzer fan - I'm not sure what cred that adds to Brian, but he IS (was) the President. Mikey x
