  • This is more of a win than a fail.

  • That thing was way ahead of it's time.

  • It's a screwmobile

  • was a snowcat equped with this kind of big screws what past on north on border of russia. Was a film with it. I dont thinkg is a bad invention this screws.

  • That's the first time I saw one actually pulling a load. Snow rollers are how they dealt with deep snow, pulled with a team or two of horses at first. In the 1880's the Lake State lumbermen developed groomed ice roads, with a groove cutter and sprinkler wagon, over which horses and later log haulers ran just like a railroad, only it melted away in spring. I believe a steam powered screw was tried in the Lake States in late 1800's. "Snowplowing Up Fish Creek" shows how we plowed snow in NY.

  • It was never "failed" it's still in use, you just dont see it every day, because of it's limited functionality. See "ZIL screw drive" for example.

  • @TheAsatot its just a title. thanks though ill look up this ZIL screw drive.

  • maybe ahead of their times , It pulled quite a load of logs ! so how is it a fail?
