  • I live in Fuquay Varina, NC, and as a Child I would salute to this tune because I always though the kids programs on this channel were great and that the station should have a thank you towards its efforts. And hows this rendition of Carolina on my Mind not catchy. Go North Carlina!

  • I had channel 58, i still remember watching UNC-TV when I was little and I remembered the channel id and its song, brings back memories..

  • In My condo in North Myrtle Beach i got ETV on 16 but for some reason i got Wilmington WUNJ-TV/DT on 17 but in Myrtle Beach I only get ETV for South Carolina

  • I had Channel 2

  • Channel 58 for us.

  • 0:20 what is that song?

  • It's a rendition of James Taylor's "Carolina in My Mind."

  • Yes, I can hear it. I had to listen closely.

  • Channel 17 is the translator my family gets.

I grew up watching UNC-TV, and still watch it every chance I get.

  • I've often wondered if James Taylor ever heard that almost martial arrangement of "Carolina In My Mind". :)

  • UNC-TV! :)

  • I saw that on my dad's crappy-sucky black & white TV set in Missouri! It was on channel 2! Over local channel 2! I e-mailed the station, & he said that... (I'm waiting to see the channel 2 ID. Ooh! There it was!)...WUND's signal was bounced at Missouri by an E-skip.

  • Please don't reply. Please. I beg of you. PLEASE DON'T!

  • Why? Oops, did I do that...don't kill me! PLEASE DON'T! ;-)

  • I get the charlotte/concord one, I rarely watch pbs but this is a cool ident.

  • I used to live in NC and I got the Chapel Hill/Lumberton/Roanoke Rapids (4,31,36) and sometimes Greenville (25) ones...as a kid I got the Triad one (26), before moving further east in the state

But I'm in FL now and get WPBT & WLRN (2,17) both are Miami PBS

  • Done with Adobe After Effects, I'd bet.

  • Roanoke, Chapel Hill, Somwthingsburg, OOOOAAAHHHGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh man. I grew up on UNC-TV.

  • Thanks for uploading this! I don't see many North Carolina station IDs on the Internet.

  • I see the UNC-TV stations segment every night while recording old PBS idents to upload.
