nice work. All the bungholes who chime in on this thing are just keyboard warriors. I wouldn't comment on the reliability/quality because I have never handled/fired one of these.
@Mr2ndAmendment No kidding man I got a buddy who did a scout scope setup for me on one, just cause. It's a great rifle being that it's 300 bucks. I grew up shooting high-end rifles like the 700 and tikka t3. In my opinion, a rifle is only as good as the owner cares for it. And like you said, some rifles are for some people. Like trucks, people can be biased and have their own opinions
@kraka4985 I have a 770 in 7mm mag. The gun is very light for a "heavy rifle". That being said if you use heavy bullets it will kick. I hand load 139 gr. Hornady SST's @ 3100 fps and they don't kick hard at all, but If you use 180 or 200 gr. bullets they will give it some kick. I have a replacement limb saver recoil pad that helps a little. The stock pad is a little hard. I must say this gun is nice to hunt with over my springfeild because it's so light and it's cheap to boot. TSFG
I sell guns for a living and do some gunsmithing on the side. I will openly admit I'm not a huge fan of the 770 but overall I'm a fan of the right gun for the right man at the right price. This would never be in my hands but that does not mean that this rifle is not successful and cherished in other hands. This is not the gun your children's children will be shooting, but it will get lead on target, which is the primary goal. Not for me.
I have a 770 in 7mm mag that will make mickey mouses heads @100yrds all day long. I load Hornady 139 gr. SST's@3100 pfs with 61.9 gr's of IMR 4350. Works so good I'm looking for a bigger scope. Yes the bolt comes sloppier than my 30-06 Springfield and enfields but a good polish job on the bold was an easy fix. I may change to a 300 win mag superlite 26 in. bull berral so I can reload with the same bullets as my 30-06's. The 770 is good for the money. You want a $1000 gun go through down a $1000!
I have to disagree with anyone who likes the Remington 770.It's poorly made and from what I understand it has a lot of problems with sticky bolts, and accuracy.Add the fact that the vast majority also have a lot of play in the bolt when it's fully opened and you can see that the 770 is not the best choice for a person who wants a gun that is both accurate and reliable.A much better choice for those on a budget would be the Marlin XL-7.It comes with a scope and it's much better made than the 770.
@rkygriz Actually go out and shoot a 770. Every thing you said was "what i understand" So you have no real experience with this rifle. for the price and for what you get it is a good package. This gun is very accurate and i will be posting videos on its accuracy with the cheapest .270 ammo i can find which is Remington. the 770 is not the best rifle by far and there might be better bolt guns for the price but i havent shot them to actually give an accurate opinion. Do you own a Marlin XL-7?
Actually,I have had a lot of in-store experience with this piece and believe me,I wouldn't trust that thing as far as I could throw it.The scope is cheap, the bolt has too much play in it-I could go on.I've had guys buy a 770 and come back to me and tell that I was right-on about the gun and say they wish they had bought something better.
To the XL-7:Yes,I have shot one that belonged to a hunting buddy.I found it to be well made, and very accurate. For the money,it's a better bet than the 770
@rkygriz The gun has been great for me and the fact that it was my grandfathers and was left to me along with a lever action 22 i enjoy it that much more. the gun has worked great for me and i will post more videos about this gun in the near future.
@rkygriz actually the accuracy has been proven better than the 700 in some cases up to 5/8 inch spread at 100 yards so hows that for accuracy you probably havent ever shot one nor did the people who also critisize this rifle. I have one of these and a win 70 and for the price this gun will compete with other hunting rifles no problem
@1stOPFOR ok... im 15, 140 lbs, and nearly 6 feet tall..... what type of caliber do you recommend.... ive shot a .243 caliber and it was fine, not too bad... do you think I should stick with a .243??
@beautifuloblivion100 really just depends on wat you are hunting, i use a .243 to hunt white tails and coyotes out to 300+ yards. any game much bigger you will want a bigger caliber.
@beautifuloblivion100 get a .308 same knock down power as a 30-06 without the kick. also cheaper to load than 30-06 .243 is a fast bullet, but if you dont hit a deer just right, you could be looking for it all day.
@motocross363 if your talking about Ontario California the yes they're legal. And there priced around 350 to 380 if it is over 400 your getting ripped off
Good video, I am looking at getting a 7mm rem mag for hunting. And these are going for $299 in my area, so this is what I am looking at currently. Thanks for the upload.
There is no bad gun just bad shooters... Shooters should take care of there gun If a part breaks replace it, clean it after each use, oil it every other use...
got mine in 300 win mag. took down a 8 point buck at 75 yards. just as good as a Remington 700 at half the price. my bolt stuck when it was dry try some balistol. if people have a problem with the scope change it i bought a nikon scope at walmart on sale for 90 bucks. only down side is ive spent more on ammo then the rifle i didnt know good 300 win mag rounds were 2.50 a pop when i bought the rifle. but i only had to track that buck about 3 feet from where i shot it.
I just bought a Remington 770 set on a 270 round. I've shot the .243 version, and it also does come in .223 I think. I just took down a 100lb doe in 1 shot with the .243. So I think the 270 should be just as effective. What's a good range for the 270 round? The .243 is goo at about 200 yards.
@1stOPFOR i would rather get a mosin nagant 89 dollars and just buy the scope for it and the mount all 400 and you got a service grade rifle TEN times more durable ammo is TEN times more cheaper and it's just a cannon and an amazing rifle
@MrHeavyeddy $300 bucks and mine shoots 5/8" at 150 yards with 308 win... i have a few bolt actions that cost WAY more and this "cheap" rifle shoots as well as a $2000 ASI custom 700... for almost 3 grand less... -- keep it clean and throw it away when you wear it out with 5000 rounds... the scope is basically a $30 dollar scope... works fine, sucks in low light...
@1stopfour i want this gun because it looks nice, its cheap, and its powerful would this gun be TOO powerful for me... im 12 years old but i'm 5'8'' and 115 lbs.... btw i also use a .243 w/ 3-9 scope now.... is this 770 better than the .243 or would i be better of to stick with the .243
@xBEASTxMODEx14 ok .243 is a caliber. the 770 come in different calibers. Mine is a .270. you can get this rifle in the .243 caliber. the 770 is the model number.
at @WildAndLiving i have this same rifle in a 30-06 and i have put about 3000 rounds threw this rifle and the only thing i have had to do is clean it and oil the bolt they are a little sticky as he said in the vid but thats all i can say neg about this rifle. it is one of my fav and i would say i probly shoot it more than any of my other guns
I bought this gun chambered in 308 just to take to the range and have fun. It's fairly accurate, and with proper care should last many years. Would I go hunting with it instead of my 770, only if the SHTF.
i like it if i get as an bson my report card i get he 243 yoth all black bolt action im so excited to use it on black warrior manegmnt area i alabama shoot me so deer
@MrDemon9392 770 is just easier to use out of the box with an already sighted in scope, so it's ready to hunt right out of the box, but the 700 definately is better
@1stOPFOR yeah but you have to treat it like a baby and no one would want to have to go through that it's just an all out bad rifle it's good for those who can't afford a nicer rifle but still
@MrDip02 How will it not last 1 year it will last years and years as well it just wont be as nice... lots of guns last longs time it depends on use and the shooter..
@WildAndLiving lol i had reports of them only lasting a couple of months there just absolutely terrible rifles for there price there good but if i wanted something cheap i would go for the mosin nagant it's ten times more reliable very powerful cheap rounds and it's just a great gun over all that's another reason why i think the remington 770 sucks because it's over priced for it's quality
@1stOPFOR I don't have a video beacuse I wasn't dumb enough to buy one. I picked one up at my local gun store the bolt was wobbling, the action feels like it has sand in it, and the bolt will lock after firing on occasion. Go to the youtube channel BoltActionRifle and look at the video of what happend to that 770. Also go to any gunstore, Bass Pro, Gander Mountain and ask anyone that works at these places to give you an honest opinion of the rifle. If you save another 100 bucks you can buy a 700
@MrDip02 You do realize when you buy firearms you expect them to work right? I am the PROUD owner of a 700 not the scraps that walmart gets. Go buy a decent gun and get back to me.
@bigzach302 HAHA i have the mosin nagant that is MORE than decent it's more reliable and it's extremely accurate and the 7.62x54r round is a beastly and the fact that you can buy 880 rounds for 120$ i hardly doubt the 270 has a deal even close to that
when i bought mine, it was within two inches at 100 yards. I have tinkered with the scope a little, using different ammo, and it is really accurate, even at 200 yards. i actually knocked mine in the floor one time, and when I shot it the gun amazingly was still on target. mine is the 7mm Magnum.
were did you buy this rifle from because im thinking about getting the 270 model for my birthday and was thinking about buying it on the internet from buds gun shop and i didnt know if it would be a good deal to buy it online so if you could help me out i would really appreciate it
I have the exact same gun you have only mine is the camo version. One thing I recommend is if you want a bipod on it, have a separate hook put on it because that sling mount on the front is too flimsy for a bipod and the first or second time you shoot it, it will break that mount right off (found that out the hard way). Other than that excellent gun
Would anyone recommend this for a semi experienced hunter? I've been hunting deer in P.A. for about three years and I've claimed 2 deer with my uncle's .243. I kinda wanna get my own rifle so that I don't always have to use his. The most I want to spend is 350$, so do you guys recommend this or another rifle?
@mathisawsome001 i would and would not it is a great rifle but it is diffcult to sight in and is defently not a winchester modle 70. the bolt is vary hard to move and not smooth it so if you miss you cant make another shot that fast but it is strong and low recoil i would recomend the 30-06.
I have a 270. As far as the site being bore sited and getting you on the paper...well, not mine...it was shooting over 8inches low at 100 yards.....I have since fine tuned it and its putting them in the bulls eye now in a less than 1 inch group. Nice rifle. Kicks pretty good though !!!
@IbanezSlipknot245 if you're still trying to find a caliber for deer hunting, I would highly recommend the .270 or the .30-06, they both are very great rounds, they very flat flying, can reach out at great range and put a wallop on deer.
@IbanezSlipknot245 try the 243, i haven't went hunting with it yet, but it has zero, and i mean ZERO kick, but it makes up for it it target damage. try any gun you want, but i'm tellin' ya, the 243 is the best gun i own.
@IbanezSlipknot245 for me i will go for a 30-06 . It's the most versitile cartridge out there it depend on what kind of hunt you do,you plan to hunt other big game?short range shooting or long range?you hunt in a field, wood?
308 is good too(little weaker then the 30-06).. . 308 have enough power to kill a deer/moose/elk and the ammo are cheap compared to a 300mag and the 300mag its too much for a deer if you hit a good Bones you got alot wasted meat
@IbanezSlipknot245 According to ballistics, and a review I found from a guy that has been in the gun business for a long time, stated that the 7mm Mag is the best gun for all hunting requirements, and with superb range, and a flatter shooting trajectory at long ranges as well. its the perfect size chamber for the needs of whatever you use it for. actually, not to start a war, the guy tested it against a 308 and 300, plus a 30-06, and the 7mm won. google this...effective range of a 7mm magnum.
@IbanezSlipknot245 .308 (7.62x51) or 30-06. mine's in 30-06. 30-06 has a wider range of bullet weights than .308 but 308 is cheaper and can be bought in bulk easier.
is 22" a long enough barrel for a 300 magnum? the lower end savage 111 is 24" and the higher end rem 700 and brownings are 26" I think. will a short barrel take advantage of the magnum's power or will you just throw a huge flame out the front? and what about accuracy out of 22" vs 26?
@dylan9436 It should be on the paper since the rifle is bore sighted from the factory but i dont think it would be dead on. you never know though till you shoot it.
This could be a good project gun, good starting base. I would really think about getting this in 300 win mag. If you have shot it, how is the MOA and what are the chances the barrel is floating (I would think not)?
@MrSteve65 AS far as i know the barrel isnt free floating, ive never taken the stock off and nowhere i can find says it is. I havent shot in a long time and do not remember the MOA.
@1stOPFOR Thanks for the reply. This doesn't make it for sure, but see if you can slide a dollar bill between the stock and barrel, going from the front of the stock to the back toward the bolt. If it does slide in, it should go all the way to where the barrel mounts to the stock, if it does, then it is pretty much floating.
i used to plink coconuts with a co2 Valiente .22 airgun, where i ended up angering my dad 'cause i ended up using up all 3 tanks and all 4 boxes of pellets. thats when i was just 10 till i got to be old enough to work, where i got tactical and started playing milsim with gas guns...
oh those coconut trees from at least 400 feet away...

@WildAndLiving that's worth i rather have a gun that will last me for years and years than one that wont for less than 1
MrDip02 4 months ago
@MrDip02 The 770 will last for years too
1stOPFOR 4 months ago
@1stOPFOR yeah but you have to treat it like a baby and no one would want to have to go through that it's just an all out bad rifle it's good for those who can't afford a nicer rifle but still
MrDip02 4 months ago
@MrDip02 How will it not last 1 year it will last years and years as well it just wont be as nice... lots of guns last longs time it depends on use and the shooter..
WildAndLiving 4 months ago
@WildAndLiving lol i had reports of them only lasting a couple of months there just absolutely terrible rifles for there price there good but if i wanted something cheap i would go for the mosin nagant it's ten times more reliable very powerful cheap rounds and it's just a great gun over all that's another reason why i think the remington 770 sucks because it's over priced for it's quality
MrDip02 4 months ago
@WildAndLiving but it's a pretty good rifle for it's price it's just something i would not buy or recommend

bigzach302 5 months ago
@bigzach302 You say its a POS with nothing to back up your claim. why is it a POS. Please post a video backing up your claim.
1stOPFOR 5 months ago
@1stOPFOR I don't have a video beacuse I wasn't dumb enough to buy one. I picked one up at my local gun store the bolt was wobbling, the action feels like it has sand in it, and the bolt will lock after firing on occasion. Go to the youtube channel BoltActionRifle and look at the video of what happend to that 770. Also go to any gunstore, Bass Pro, Gander Mountain and ask anyone that works at these places to give you an honest opinion of the rifle. If you save another 100 bucks you can buy a 700
bigzach302 5 months ago
@bigzach302 ive put many rounds through the rifle and it gets the job done very well.
1stOPFOR 5 months ago
@bigzach302 you do realize you can change the bolt it's not stuck in there forever for god fucking sake if it does not work for you CHANGE it
MrDip02 5 months ago
@MrDip02 You do realize when you buy firearms you expect them to work right? I am the PROUD owner of a 700 not the scraps that walmart gets. Go buy a decent gun and get back to me.

MrDip02 5 months ago
@bigzach302 HAHA i have the mosin nagant that is MORE than decent it's more reliable and it's extremely accurate and the 7.62x54r round is a beastly and the fact that you can buy 880 rounds for 120$ i hardly doubt the 270 has a deal even close to that

I would start with where ever it is cheapest. and if you don't care about price try to support your local gun store or shooting range.

@TheEmineminator 243 is actually a good deer gun but the bullet goes to fast, so a clip on a twig will nock the shot off.
mattownsu95 6 months ago
i have the 300 win mag, i never shot it yet though but Remington has never let me down so...we'll see
matt31602 7 months ago
when i bought mine, it was within two inches at 100 yards. I have tinkered with the scope a little, using different ammo, and it is really accurate, even at 200 yards. i actually knocked mine in the floor one time, and when I shot it the gun amazingly was still on target. mine is the 7mm Magnum.

i think at my wal mart they are like $265. good price?
superjosh2001 7 months ago
@superjosh2001 thats really not bad at all, I would buy it at that price.
bmacAK47 7 months ago
great caliber, the gun itself is "okay" but the scope is extremely shitty, leupod is the only way to go. all in all not to bad for the price.
irockmw21 7 months ago
were did you buy this rifle from because im thinking about getting the 270 model for my birthday and was thinking about buying it on the internet from buds gun shop and i didnt know if it would be a good deal to buy it online so if you could help me out i would really appreciate it
justicejouett 7 months ago
I have the exact same gun you have only mine is the camo version. One thing I recommend is if you want a bipod on it, have a separate hook put on it because that sling mount on the front is too flimsy for a bipod and the first or second time you shoot it, it will break that mount right off (found that out the hard way). Other than that excellent gun

Would anyone recommend this for a semi experienced hunter? I've been hunting deer in P.A. for about three years and I've claimed 2 deer with my uncle's .243. I kinda wanna get my own rifle so that I don't always have to use his. The most I want to spend is 350$, so do you guys recommend this or another rifle?
tyrantc002 9 months ago
@tyrantc002 bud's have this for 300 right now. i don't hunt but i would like to add a bolt action rifle to my collection.
blaziankhmer 8 months ago
I'm leaning towards the tikka t3 is ia a very smooth action and seems to be buit very well... its built by beretta I'm pretty sure
mathisawsome001 9 months ago
Would you recommend this for a hunter that hasn't used a rifle for deer hunting but a shotgun?
mathisawsome001 9 months ago
@mathisawsome001 i would and would not it is a great rifle but it is diffcult to sight in and is defently not a winchester modle 70. the bolt is vary hard to move and not smooth it so if you miss you cant make another shot that fast but it is strong and low recoil i would recomend the 30-06.
Camaromaster242 9 months ago
I have a 270. As far as the site being bore sited and getting you on the paper...well, not mine...it was shooting over 8inches low at 100 yards.....I have since fine tuned it and its putting them in the bulls eye now in a less than 1 inch group. Nice rifle. Kicks pretty good though !!!

k123332 10 months ago
@IbanezSlipknot245 if you're still trying to find a caliber for deer hunting, I would highly recommend the .270 or the .30-06, they both are very great rounds, they very flat flying, can reach out at great range and put a wallop on deer.
xXCoUnTeRxStRiKeXx 10 months ago
@xXCoUnTeRxStRiKeXx Alright thanks bro I was thinkin about the 30-06
IbanezSlipknot245 10 months ago
@IbanezSlipknot245 try the 243, i haven't went hunting with it yet, but it has zero, and i mean ZERO kick, but it makes up for it it target damage. try any gun you want, but i'm tellin' ya, the 243 is the best gun i own.
epicguy103 10 months ago
@IbanezSlipknot245 for me i will go for a 30-06 . It's the most versitile cartridge out there it depend on what kind of hunt you do,you plan to hunt other big game?short range shooting or long range?you hunt in a field, wood?
308 is good too(little weaker then the 30-06).. . 308 have enough power to kill a deer/moose/elk and the ammo are cheap compared to a 300mag and the 300mag its too much for a deer if you hit a good Bones you got alot wasted meat
MultiRaidman 9 months ago
@MultiRaidman I would use it for mainly just deer and long distance and open field is what im gonna be doin.
IbanezSlipknot245 9 months ago
@IbanezSlipknot245 get a 30-06 it can get any north american game..
Whit3tailHunt3r 8 months ago
@Whit3tailHunt3r sweet...thanks man
IbanezSlipknot245 8 months ago
@IbanezSlipknot245 According to ballistics, and a review I found from a guy that has been in the gun business for a long time, stated that the 7mm Mag is the best gun for all hunting requirements, and with superb range, and a flatter shooting trajectory at long ranges as well. its the perfect size chamber for the needs of whatever you use it for. actually, not to start a war, the guy tested it against a 308 and 300, plus a 30-06, and the 7mm won. google this...effective range of a 7mm magnum.
135yota 7 months ago
@IbanezSlipknot245 .308 (7.62x51) or 30-06. mine's in 30-06. 30-06 has a wider range of bullet weights than .308 but 308 is cheaper and can be bought in bulk easier.
Fordfanforlife777 7 months ago
@IbanezSlipknot245 use .243 caliber
BoggleDongMongerFlog 6 months ago

johnnyrhodes1 1 year ago
nevermind. I just read that the 300 magnum version of your rifle actually has a 24" barrel like the savage.
yz9890 1 year ago
is 22" a long enough barrel for a 300 magnum? the lower end savage 111 is 24" and the higher end rem 700 and brownings are 26" I think. will a short barrel take advantage of the magnum's power or will you just throw a huge flame out the front? and what about accuracy out of 22" vs 26?
yz9890 1 year ago
they sell it for 300 even with free shipping at buds gun shop. u just gotta pay for an ffl transaction. mine came to 332 even.not too bad

@1stOPFOR i just got my 770 chambered for .270, do you think it would be accurate?
dylan9436 1 year ago
@dylan9436 It should be on the paper since the rifle is bore sighted from the factory but i dont think it would be dead on. you never know though till you shoot it.
1stOPFOR 1 year ago
@TheLemonkush Its really nice. i think you will be happy.
1stOPFOR 1 year ago
This could be a good project gun, good starting base. I would really think about getting this in 300 win mag. If you have shot it, how is the MOA and what are the chances the barrel is floating (I would think not)?
MrSteve65 1 year ago
@MrSteve65 AS far as i know the barrel isnt free floating, ive never taken the stock off and nowhere i can find says it is. I havent shot in a long time and do not remember the MOA.
1stOPFOR 1 year ago
@1stOPFOR Thanks for the reply. This doesn't make it for sure, but see if you can slide a dollar bill between the stock and barrel, going from the front of the stock to the back toward the bolt. If it does slide in, it should go all the way to where the barrel mounts to the stock, if it does, then it is pretty much floating.
MrSteve65 1 year ago
@1stOPFOR only ARs have floating barrels right?
i used to plink coconuts with a co2 Valiente .22 airgun, where i ended up angering my dad 'cause i ended up using up all 3 tanks and all 4 boxes of pellets. thats when i was just 10 till i got to be old enough to work, where i got tactical and started playing milsim with gas guns...
oh those coconut trees from at least 400 feet away...
