@RadicalFiction Get you some booklearnin'; the original Republican Party was very liberal, anti-big business and welcoming of progressive measures, and the original Democratic party was very conservative. They're complete opposites today.

In the late 1940s, the Democrats alienated Southerners with pro-civil rights views, and they flocked in droves to the Republican party, which as a result became more conservative, to what you see today
