I feel that I should add for the benefit of Titleofrecord. Most of the techniques shown here are actually breaks, much like the aikido techniques such as kote-gaeshi and shi-ho-nage, although there is a throwing element the main aim is to break the wrist or arm. The person going over is doing so, in most cases, as a counter to the break, they're literally saving themselves. I'm not being patronising, just thought you might be interested as it's something most prctitioners fail to mention
There are some elements of aikido in this. In fact similar to aikijutsu. I'm gonna agree with Gambit on this. Techniques are techniques, they are applied in a safe environment in a safe manner. They're not, in their practical form, performed in this manner. These techniques show principles more than anything, it doesn't look pretty on the street. As for the striking side of things, they're a whole different set of principles that allow openings for techniques such as these. I likey verymuch
@aikifan77 it is based on Hapkido which as anyone with any Martial Arts Knowledge will know has the same/similar Lineage to Aikido via Daito Ryu Jujitsu
You may think it is not a practical style to learn and know, but I would advise, before coming to your conclusion, that you meet up with someone who is versed in Hanmudo and see if it indeed practical enough on the street.
Hanmudo is such a well-rounded style that it covers all your needed defensive and offensive needs.
Great performance. Good for physical culture. Or the circus. Very good. Nevertheless it is useless in real hand-to-hand combat where they want to kill you, take you off the map, trying to pull this off won't work. Really, i don't want to bash anything or anyone, it just does not work in real life fights. Don't practice it for self defense, only when you enjoy it as a physical art form.
I use to take this style when i was 12 i loved it but i moved to another city and there wasn't a dojo that taught it so i went into Shotokan Karate that accurately help me with some of my fighting stances.
Very fake looking when the "victim" is jumping every time they are flipped, to help the effect. Is this WWF?
Urbanz1975 7 months ago
@Urbanz1975 ....Resistance is futile.......not going with it and "jumping" will result in a trip to the emergency room for x-rays and a cast

This style reminds me of aikido. It seems to have throws that require little energy on the thrower's part.
