A full sized version of this one works near where I live. Designated GM36, she still has most of her Commonwealth Railways livery, except for where it's carboned up, and the graffitti has been painted over
@JBofBrisbane Far as I can tell, from the outside it seems that the main differences are with the cooling fans in the roof, the layout of the windows up the sides, but not much else externally
@JBofBrisbane This one was definitely the sleek lines of a GM, despite the graffitti, carbon staining (hasn't had a decent bath in decades) and satellite tracking apparatus on its roof
@jmsschooner - wow, I knew Hornby did a Victorian S-class in OO, but I didn't know they painted it up as a GM as well. Love to see a photo or vid. See my comment to Mechknight re difference between a GM and a CL.
2005GLI, the company responsible for the construction of the real locos, Clyde Engineering, was a licensee of EMD. Clyde adapted EMD's technologies and designs to suit the needs of Australian customers, hence the similarity to our North American EMD and GMD locos.
i have an Athearn genesis F-unit thats dc sound equipped...it comes with a little remote that looks like a car alarm w/6 buttons, w/horn, bell, dynamic brakes, coupling, it's pretty cool...
Nice

@Mechknight73 - the S (GM12) series is different from the CL class, but has the same EMD nose.

@Mechknight73 - The CL class was longer, and had that "semi-octagonal" roof profile, whereas the GM's roof was curved over.

Brilliant!
I wish simple non dcc sound was possible, so when my normal trains moved an engine sound existed, when the voltage stops, sound stops etc.
