First of all, the guy was not unarmed. If you look closely, the guy was armed with big stones the whole time. He threw a stone at the officer who shot him. The cop was defending himself. That man caused his own death. I don't agree with the way the police officers handled the situation though. They should be fired, because they could have disarmed him, but they failed to do so. However, they should not be charged. Again, that man caused his own death.

First of all, the guy was not unarmed. If you look closely, the guy was armed with big stones the whole time. He threw a stone at the officer who shot him. The cop was defending himself. That man caused his own death. I don't agree with the way the police officers handled the situation though. They should be fired, because they could have disarmed him, but they failed to do so. However, they should not be charged. Again, that man caused his own death.

Let me see if this could be handled another way. As is obvious, the alleged murderer can be seen lying on the ground writhing in pain from the brutal assault of the police baton. He is also able to defend himself "somewhat". But not to the extent that he poses a grave threat to the officers thereby translating the situation into its apparent end - the summoning of police misconduct – resulting in murder.

Has these policemen ever been in any previous "questionable Behavior". the books should be open i think and let the chips fall where they may. Some charges should be laid against the shooter i think. It is at the least rather excessive.

As long as Jamaicans are convinced that they won't receive justice in their land they will continue to take the law into their own hands. I am not advocating an illegal act which is what this case is. I am however suggesting that we need to close the gap between what is just and what is legal to reduce such incidence. This man deserved to die for what he did. The world is certainly a safer place with him removed from it. My sympathies go to the family of the woman killed.

When a criminal is killed by police all manner of people come out with placards, block roads and beat up their gums via the media but when gunmen plunder, rape and brutally murder people in the most gruesome manner YOU DON'T HEAR DIDDLY-SQUAT FROM THESE SAME PEOPLE! This is really painful to watch... and the truth is, that this happens all the time. Most often it is reported that the police were attacked and they shot back....half the time nothing nuh go so... I mean i know criminals are out there and when needs be and if they do come under attack, the police should defend themselves but what happened in this video was just murder.

I agree I may not know half the story, but the police cant be acting like an angry mob, they are there to keep the peace and carry out the rules of the law, not to abuse the laws. The man was clearly not in a position to harm anyone at this point. and also he was unarmed, he was not caught in the act and with a weapon. There is no excuse for the police force.

The police should have acted within the law, now imagine if someone had not caught this on tape we all now what the police would have said " they acted in self defence, man a shoot off a dem, or a damn shootout and dem find man with gun." Let us apply some common sense to this event.
The law and justice are not the same things. This man viciously killed a woman, and based on our laws, he would be tried, convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment. But is that really Justice? .. How many of us would rather see Bin Laden Killed rather than be arrested? .. and how is this any different??
what happened here was not legal, but who among us would say that it was not just??
