Considering that Flair showed up the night after the angle was over; Goldberg and Steiner arrived a couple of years afterwards. 2000-1 had been financially brilliant, they did themselves no favours whatsoever by not even considering buying them out.

If The angle wasn't to fall flat on its arse like it did, he would have put his hands in his pocket - even if it did upset the salary structure.

As for the others - I suppose sitting out a contract on guaranteed money rather than making a ton in the top fantasy angles symbolises either strong distrust of Vince or simply the work ethic (or lack thereof) of the talent. The footnote - The WWF blew this angle. It was always going to be McMahon vs McMahons anyway.

I knew this angle was gonna be bad the exact second Shane appeared and said he bought WCW, and basically ignored it when they brought out Stephanie to run ECW. Every time the McMahon family was involved, an angle got ruined. I just wanted to tell Vince, "please, leave your damn wife and kids at home and keep them off TV!!"

There wont be anything like this anymore, TNA wont come close to the success WCW had. Its going to be very hard to take down WWE, especially since they are launching their very own Channel next year. Shows that if they bought the talent from TimeWarner, possibly had Bischoff fire the parting shot at the end of the dual-telecast (i.e. "Vince, we're coming, and we'll tear you apart from within") and have Heyman lead ECW they could have pitted all three together.

Fans would have gone nuts and could have left effects for years to come.
