The old venom and the "new" Venom are in fact the SAME music, but now, we're just in 2009, we have a lot of technologic stuffs to have powerful guitars etc...in 1980, everything was less simple. Actually Venom is a little of both Black and Death subgenres. They've always been mostly a black metal band, but some of the older material had some death metal qualities, but it was usually in the lyrics of particular songs. It doesn't really matter, because without Venom, both subgenres probably wouldn't exist. At least in my opinion.

That is true, they did inspire both scenes to an extent. But the lyrics about Satan, the vocals ... that's definitely more Black Metal. On this track in particular though, I do agree that the guitar is quite death metally, seems somewhat more full and deep than the often shrill and scratchier black metal guitar parts.
