final fantasy 12, final fantasy spirits withen, final fantasy 10-2 and the Kingdom hearts series actually kinda broke the revolution for sqaure enix 13 was good but any real FF fan would know Kingdom hearts made a joke of the final fantasy charecters now Nier the new square enix game looks promising imo they are becoming better again.. releasing real story and deeper charecters.

And yes, in my opinion, their games have lacked depth and a total lack of originality. Although I did enjoy XII and Crisis Core... but their other titles need a lot of work, lack of originality and character depth that was found in classic Squaresoft games.

I'm not sure why it's hard to understand that Squaresoft and SquareEnix are different. The people who made Squaresoft what it was had left and were replaced by people from Enix... it's sure to be different ya know.

I have to agree with Sedalb here, there is somewhat of a difference between Squaresoft and SquareEnix. One major difference I see is Sakaguchi and Nobuo have left... they made FF what is was.

And in my opinion, I enjoyed the early games of Squaresoft rather then the games SquareEnix have been producing.

theyre not selling Tomb Raider, Square Enix bought Eidos so they own it... apparently Eidos plc the holdings company for Eidos was merged with Square Enix Ltd. or something and was renamed Square Enix Europe... them dropping the Eidos name will most likely take place in 2010.

actually, just to put this out there, square enix owns all the rights to the old squaresoft games, so actually the name of the video is totally correct. (if you don't believe, pick up a brand new copy of any final fantasy game and you'll see the logo has been changed from squaresoft to square enix).

Technically if you want to enjoy them, play them in the order they came out. Play the original PSone version first, learn the story, watch Advent children which takes place 2 years later, then DoC takes place a year after that. Crisis Core (even though set before the original) will be best played after all of the above, as you'll find the mysteries of FFVII unwinding in that. Unfortunately though if you play FFVII first you'll know how CC ends.

The outfit she's wearing that's white with blue stripes is Crisis Core - the Zack game.(PSP) the other ones with really good graphics (that aren't the kh ones or the regular VII ones), are from the remake of VII. (PS3) The remake and Crisis core aren't out yet. I also think you're confusing some stuff with Last Order: Final Fanyasy VII. The anime TV show.

Technically Square and Enix were both different companies that specialized in Role Playing games...In the early 00's Enix was past its prime and that Spirits Within movie really did Square in so the two had no choice but to merger to keep their companies alive.

Even though Square and Enix aren't up to par as they used to be, they still come out with great games, so the merger went well.
