I tried to get the birds to feed out of my hand this past summer. I got a big glob of suet out and sat in my chair. I just went back inside 3 weeks ago to shower, BTW, Suet drips if you hold it long enough.

Very cool. Today I videoed some downy woodpeckers but they never touched the suet cake, instead, they pecked at the sunflowers I had planted for the gold finches. The sunflowers are full of bugs so I am not sure if the woodpeckers were after the bugs or the seeds.
