    HELP Fingering for 4:52 ? Right arpeggios m. 82 (down) 543214321 ? 321432121?

  • @enriquem90 321432121 is better so your hands wiil not collide that easy.cheers

  • Excelente versión

  • an austrian pianoteacher told me one time ravel and debussy is always soft to play. Bullshit!!!! It is as dramatic as any other composers music.... So why not an excessive sound where useful.... I love this interpretation. Is the best I heard (I also studied this piece with the best french teacher of the 80ties eliane richepin).

  • @uhartchristian

    Gilels is an allround musicien

    Jan.

  • Gilels sounds too strident here. I think it has to do with the microphone placement. There are several moments of beauty which indicates the problem lies more with the recording engineering than the playing.

  • It is truly an astounding range of sonorities on display here! Growing up on Gieseking in the French Impressionists, it took me some time to accept Gilels as an interpreter of this music, but now his versions of this piece and the Pavane are my absolute favorites

  • Listen to Pascal Roge. Nobody play it like him...

  • @rva25

    He is wonderfol too

    Jan

  • this is soo good, I love this pease

  • Argerich is more my taste, but his is just supberb, wonderful! 5 stars to this blessed human(?) being!

  • i prefer it to Richters. perlemuter would too

  • looks like we have the same taste when it comes to Ravel. I prefer this one by Gilels to any Richter or Argerich here on youtube.

  • @thepacers

    Mr. Gilels don't need "lessons"

    example :

The moment i heard Etudes symphoniques de Schumann played by Cortot i thought "i can't imagine anyone could understand this music like him"

    That lasted for 40 years ( ! )

And suddenly heard Mr. Gilels with it !

And i was stunned. The first one who did...!

It is of course my personal opinion.

    With regards,

    Jan.

  • I agree with rusz. It has something very special to it.Like it better than Richter's

  • like this performance. maybe not the best of this piece, but this still makes sense than some other pianists' performance.

  • Good God 4444,We're not inspecting freshly mopped latrine floors in the barracks here.

I love Gilels, but this performance doesn't have much to it.Just Richter at a slower speed without his great tone.

  • wow its so clean and perfect!!!!!!
