wrong!....s1000rr would dominate it. i understant that one video like this is not convincing enough, but i have seen several others with the same result. and also, for the fact that i've been on a 2008 busa and noticed the speedometer only goes up to 180mph...WTF?? my zzr600 is almost as fast as that lol... and i've seen a stock s1000rr do 194 using a GPS to record the speed more accurately!

In 1/8 mile and 1/4 mile runs, as well as top speed on an airstrip. I have a feeling the busa would still have to have a higher top speed on a long, long run, but on every track or air strip tests have been done on so far, there hasn't been enough room for the busa to get a higher top speed.
(part 4) I'm not just guessing like most of the narrow minded ones talking here that are on their first bike and have never compared in real life. If you doubt me, come bring your bike and lets do a run...enough said???

benchmark for going fast in a straight line maybe...but there's more to riding a bike than that. they're called turns and corners....something the hayabusa sucks and always sucked dick at. busas are overrated....as you can see in this video and many others, pretty much all the 1000cc bikes are overall better than a busa. i would even take a 600cc bike over a busa.

The RR won both races, and the busa had 20 hp worth of aftermarket parts. Think if they tossed a full akra with a filter and commander on the BMW? It would have won by a few lengths. I love both bikes, rode a 200+ hp busa, but the S1000rr has taken over, the busa just has a little more top end. Big 4 need to think of something quick, and my new R1 needs more hp!!!
I am glad to see BMW step up finally. Also glad they held the price down which kinda makes me wonder why their other bikes have always been so expensive. They are about 40 years late for the party though and I expect the Japs to rally very soon and lay down the smack. Also the bad timing of releasing a new bike during a depression.

comparing the bikes like that and than arguing about it is pointless.... if you wanna see which is faster, you should do drag racing whit some equipment, do a few runs and than see the best resaults. The reaction time on the start is crucial, especially comparing bikes whith more or less the same engine power...i`m saying this just for darg racing....on the track, it`s not all about engine power but also about bike control, how it turns, brakes, weight and most importantly, the rider...
busa is such an over rated bike...not a bad bike just over rated...never see them on the track cuz they dont turn...bmw doesnt need to prove anything...dyno tells the true story anyways...
OK mate You obviously are talking bullshit here. First of all both bikes are built for different purposes. The BMW is a super sports bike kinda aimed in racing. Hayabusa however is a sport-tourist bike. It has plenty of room for 2 people, it's big and surprisingly comfortable for such a bike. Hayabusa was never meant to be a racing bike, Suzuki has a bike for that it's GSX-R 1000. Competition for Hayabusa is Kawasaki ZZR 1400 and that kind of bikes. Big sport but also capable of tourism.
And no, Hayabusa is not overrated, it came out in 1999 and remain with almost no changes till 2008 when the new version came out. Even the new version has only gently modified engine from the older one. That good that engine is. Everyone who was driving Hayabusa is surprised by how friendly and confident the bike is. It is one of the greatest bikes ever built even tho I'd choose that BMW (coz I prefer strictly sport bikes).

comparing the bikes like that and than arguing about it is pointless.... if you wanna see which is faster, you should do drag racing whit some equipment, do a few runs and than see the best resaults. The reaction time on the start is crucial, especially comparing bikes whith more or less the same engine power...i`m saying this just for darg racing....on the track, it`s not all about engine power but also about bike control, how it turns, brakes, weight and most importantly, the rider...

busa is such an over rated bike...not a bad bike just over rated...never see them on the track cuz they dont turn...bmw doesnt need to prove anything...dyno tells the true story anyways...

OK mate You obviously are talking bullshit here. First of all both bikes are built for different purposes. The BMW is a super sports bike kinda aimed in racing. Hayabusa however is a sport-tourist bike. It has plenty of room for 2 people, it's big and surprisingly comfortable for such a bike. Hayabusa was never meant to be a racing bike, Suzuki has a bike for that it's GSX-R 1000. Competition for Hayabusa is Kawasaki ZZR 1400 and that kind of bikes. Big sport but also capable of tourism.

And no, Hayabusa is not overrated, it came out in 1999 and remain with almost no changes till 2008 when the new version came out. Even the new version has only gently modified engine from the older one. That good that engine is. Everyone who was driving Hayabusa is surprised by how friendly and confident the bike is. It is one of the greatest bikes ever built even tho I'd choose that BMW (coz I prefer strictly sport bikes).

The busa is a hyper sport touring bike....not a pure sport bike.
Considering 95% of the Busa has been around since 1999...
Its pretty sad that the S1000 only beets its by a little.....and its a pure sportbike?
How about all these stories of S1000's engine seizures going on..huumm???
Never heard that one from any bike manufacturer..before the S1000.

The definition of a true race would be a competition between two or more vehicles of the same class.Racing a Hayabusa against an S1000RR is like pairing a Sumo wrestler vs. a cage fighter...though it may be entertaining its hardly going to be a fair match.

the busa is the better bike by far.. that bmw is not a proven bike its only just come out, and any new owner will find themselves back at the garage within a month of purchase.. and don`t fool yourself there is alot more power to be had out of the busa engine, the bmw`s engine is stretched to the max..... stay japanese you can`t go wrong..

what i am saying is put the rider of the bmw on the busa, then race.. its obvious the rider on the busa was inexperienced. i bit like yourself, having watched your video`s. you ride like a 90 yr old with cataracts.

paltalkdevil...The busa's days of being fastest are long gone. Look at the specs. The Busa weighs over 150 lbs more and makes less power. hmmm. Pretty simple really. The BMW rider could have been asleep and still won.
