@FlyingHawkFilms I am, myself, from Norway and have Danish relatives, and the Danish in fact, were in a very warlike stance at that time, their neutrality was based entirely upon determining the strongest team to join. Their conquest of Norway and attempted expansion into Sweden proves this. Before Britain beat them at Copenhagen, they showed open diplomatic hostility towards Britain, which catalyzed the battle, however after that they never engaged in open conflict.

@nicnoc1976 I'm betting also you're female as to why you are so offended by this well i'm sorry but from what I found at my school which is a very good school MOST of the girls don't know history and really dislike it. One of the reasons for this is because most of the stuff we learn is about the slave trade...and a very small amount about England itself me and others at my school however actually look up stuff on history romans, greeks, persians, mongols, british empire and battles

@danuk500 Oh one more thing even my girlfriend that got all As - A*s (better than me) also knows that most teenage girls lack history and she accepts that she knows very little as well about history in general! If you really think you're right then go into a secondary school and ask all students in a classroom (or a couple) varied questions about history then compare boys to girls. I do accept that on average girls do better than boys overall but history is not their strong point.

A lot of people don't realise how bad Nelsons injuries were even though the sketch shows them. through his shoulder punctured his lung then in his stomach, his last words weren't "Kiss Me" as in give me a kiss it actually meant that he was meant to die in battle. If you go to Southend you pay around £20 to visit the historic dockyard where the HMS Victory is docked & you can actually have a tour of it, there's a plaque for the spot where he was shot then a memorial where he died 3 hours later

Nelson's actual last words were "Drink, drink, fan, fan, rub, rub." He was delirious but alive for quite a while after Hardy kissed him, and people were giving him sips of water, fanning him, and massaging his shoulder.

Let us remind ourselves that kisses do not necessarily mean love in the sexual sense. Historically, and in many parts of the world today, a kiss on the cheek signified/signifies affection, not necessarily amorous passions.

Nelson was revered by his men. A kiss would have been a normal way to bid a hero farewell.
