i paid off my home to washington mutual and they never cancelled the lein on my property.i had to get an attorney to sue them.bank employees told me they had been lying to me.then scumbag washington mutual went belly up and my lawsuit got thrown out of court.if your house has been paid for check the auditors office and make sure the lein has been cancelled.if it hasnt then call r mortage company and when they lie and say the lein has been cancelled ask them for the time and date stamp proving it
Buying a home now is more like it was in the 1950's and 60's when you had to actually have some money to borrow money, usually 20% down on a home. When I buy a home in foreclosure the bank will only lend me 80% of the appraised value. I have to come up with the other 20%. Though I gripe about this, it is much better this way. It motivates the buyer to save money for a home. Something that was negated in the '90's in order to "realize the American Dream". Bad idea.

Many of these foreclosures are not on people who aren't paying. This couple never even had a G*D* mortgage. Others happen because a couple had a mortgage from Bank 1. They sell the mortgage to Bank 2. Customers keep making payments, but 'paperwork gets lost' which leads Bank 2 to try to foreclose when the customer has been paying Bank 1 the whole time. That kind of inability to keep track of S* is inexcusable.

Then they handed you your own money back, which you created with your signature. Then they charged you 3 times that much plus collateralized (risked) your home for nothing but book keeping entries. Then they committed more bank fraud when they securitized your loan. All banking is fraud!

Isent a payment in May on my car, in Sept they tried to take the car, I showed the person I had document of payment, he called them, and they insisted they did not have a record, but we will let you keep your car is you send payment now.
