Iran does not need to use its military to pursue its weaker targets such as Greece, which it now economically controls. As the EU has all but abandoned the near bankrupt Greeks, Iran has moved in to the point that it is now the sole oil supplier and primary investor in Greece, with Iranian businessmen buying up scores of foreclosed properties. Greece has also been forced into a one sided military pact with Iran. Iran will easily devour the Greek appetizer, then work its way to stronger states.

Iran has three things, man: determination, discipline and firepower! I am Greek, and Greece just signed a pact with Iran to counter Turkey. Most Greeks support it, but a few are really scared. Greece has a $600 million trade deficit with Iran (the only EU country in debt to Iran), and my cousin in the Greek army says that Greece at its best would lose a war to Iran in less than a month. So some say that Iran now has Greece at its mercy to stay in the pact. I say no, Iran and Greece are friends.

Good point, Daniel. True, the Iranian military clearly is not without its shortcomings, but my cousin is a close friend of another guy in the Greek army who has watched the Iranian maneuvers and has seen some of their weapons. One very powerful country comparatively speaking, which my cousin's friend says would severely damage Israel (though Israel with its nukes would prevail in the end, though at a cost), stalemate with or edge out Turkey, and as I said earlier, brush aside Greece with ease.

i think you get it wrong ...... iran's Army and Sepah (second army of iran) has very good professional and well trained army.... But people who will join the army in emergency time don't have any professional trainings

I agree, but remember that in World War II, most American men were not that well trained either. (Remember the 90 day wonders who became officers after only three months training?) A lot depends on heart and soul, and that is what Iran has. Of course, as I said earlier, it could not defeat the US under any circumstances, Israel would win only by virtue of its nukes and maybe its air force, Turkey would likely draw or lose, and so forth.

yeah, iran can defend its self, in iran-iraq war when iran was under sanction and had no army because of its revolution... iraq who was supported by (Russia ,USA,Arab countries and Europe) (both superpowers) in vaded iran.. iraq was the 3rd army in the world while iran had just 900 tanks and 100 air fighter.. in that war iran defeated iraq and even went to its territories.. Nowadays iran army is so big (exactly becasue of that war because no body helped iran) and can make what ever it needs

Clearly, Iraq would not have gained the early advantage without American aid. Greeks point to the reluctance of their fellow EU members to assist in the economic bailout as proof that the EU would not do a damn thing about Turkish aggression against Greece, as nothing was done about Cyprus or the dogfights over the Aegean Sea. Meanwhile, Iran has made no demands on Greece to even begin to pay off its trade deficit, and has now offered a protecting hand against Turkey. I say Iran all the way.

What this really amounts to is Greece and Iran seeking mutual security against Turkey. Israel, with its off and on pact with the Turks (now back on), is another problem for Iran, though Greece does not factor in there. The Turks occupy northern Cyprus and have harassed Greek warplanes over the Aegean, while also seeking to destabilize the Kurdish and Azeri areas of Iran. As a Greek, I welcome the Iranian pact despite crazy fears about Iran controlling Greece. And, yes, Iran crushed Iraq!
