Wow I just watched this and it hit the nail right on the head!! There were a few things in this video that I hadn't heard of....great video Sasha!! Do you happen to remember if you were put on progesterone or progestin and how much and how often did you take it? I've just read a lot of conflicting information.
@Kaylandsky I was put on progesterone 100mg twice a day until I was 13 weeks :) by then the placenta takes over. As for the conflicting information you're going to find that. Not many doctors believe it works or even helps. Did you see the video response Dr. Erika posted? Look below and you should see it
Part 2: It is basically a contraceptive. So I was worried that because the implanon already effects my hormones (I assume) will the progesterone interfere with this and higher my chance of getting pregnant making the implanon not as effective?!??!
This is a serious question. Help is greatly appreciated!!!!!
rainbowmagicness, I wish I could say but I don't have any medical background or knowledge on implanon. This is something you should discuss with your doctor. Its not recommended you use creams without first discussing it with your ob/gyn. Im sorry I couldnt be more help. I only know what my doctor has told me and what I have found online
Part 1: Will progesterone cream interfere with the implanon?
I have had the implanon for about a year and a half and have recently started using progesterone cream for my personal reasons. Peogesterone cream balances hormones especially if you have high estrogen levels. The implanon is a 3 year rod in your arm with releases chemicals which I assume alter my hormones to lower my chances of falling pregnant dramatically.
Been through two miscarriages... had to do the D & C too :( Ended up on progesterone shots. OUCH they hurt cuz the progesterone is so thick! I have two kids, so it did work! What do u think the difference is between the shots and the suppositories? I watched your old vids on what you've been through. There is something so special about Moms that have been through this. I personally think we love at a higher level, cuz of our experience. It makes us better parents. IMO!
Thanks for sharing, I should get one of these tests done soon, my fiance and I wanna have a baby soon and my periods aren't regular any way, it might be good for me.
yes it is quant...short for Quantitative.. mean essentially "quantity" (how much) they are looking for a specific level value for this test (ur hcg level)... and there is a qualitatve blood test meaning essentially quality (if there is a signifigant presense)....and u would get the quant to see ur exact level of hcg to see if ur level is in the average reange... becuz if it isn't it will detect a problem... and ur doc would give u a qualitative test to test if ur level is positive for pregnancy
wow!! my OBGYN said usually after recurrent miscarriage the blood disorders and thyroid are the first thigns they test! good luck sasha let us know what u find out!
thanks :) Yeah thats why I switched doctors this one is great! she is very proactive and does whatever tests I want done. Im also talking with the hematologist and he ran A LOT of tests. I will tell everyone about that later. Lets just hope everything comes back normal......
Good luck to you and Lisajamie04. I hope you both get the baby you so desp want! I'm hoping I'm pregnant this month. I'm going to be a surrogate for a lovely couple. T had a total hyst at 14 due to cancer so this is her only way of getting a baby. Please post how it goes, and Lisajamie04 too! Best of luck and wishes to you both.
Just wanted to let you know that I got my results from the blood clotting bloodwork. I do have a slight blood clotting disorder that caused me to miscarry. So I finally have an answer and will continue taking the baby aspirin. I hope it works! :) Good luck to you!
I just read this today (Wed) I hope your appointment went well. Good Luck waiting for the results (they took our lab 3 weeks). Let us know about the results as soon as you find something out :)
You might want to add that some doctors will have you come in on CD 21 for a blood draw for the prog test. But that is for women who have a typical cycle where they ovulate on day 14. So the test is taken 7 days later. If you ovulate later, you won't get an accurate prog result if they test on CD 21. They should wait 7 days after they ovulate. I've had my prog tested each pg I've m/c'd (3) and they were great #s. Did you have your prog tested in early pg? if so what was it? What about your HCG?
Yes I had my tested in early pregnancy. It started out at 13 but dropped down to 2 within two weeks. My other levels went up like they should have. For me my progesterone is high enough to get pregnant but when its time to have the baby attach it drops. We wont know for sure until we try again. Im also going to ask about baby aspirin.
Your welcome. :) Since they already know yours is high enough to ovulate well and get pg, you probably wouldn't have to have it checked a week after you O. I hope that when you all decide to try again that the drs are able to keep you pg. I've lost my 3 pgs before 6 weeks each time. Waiting on the test results to see if I have a slight clotting disorder. Baby aspirin would help this and I started taking it anyway just in case. I guess if the test comes back - I'll stop. Good Luck to you all!
