Good for you, I'm glad you're enlisting. Being in the military teaches you things that are very positive, such as discipline and commitment to a cause. There's also the lifelong friendships that you will develop, and the love for your fellow soldier.
I wouldn't trade my service for anything in the world, and it was well worth the 4 years of my life.

Many times UN coalation forces (more than likely accompanied by an equal or greater force of US troops.) have gone into world hotspots to try to change things. I don't get certain benefits that others who served during "war time" get, and that's fine. Many times UN coalation forces (more than likely accompanied by an equal or greater force of US troops.) have gone into world hotspots to try to change things. A lot of people have the wrong view of Muslims and the military in my opinion. I mean, this war isn't supposed to be against Muslims but even some of the soldiers seem to think it is. I don't get certain benefits that others who served during "war time" get, and that's fine. I give those people all the credit in the world even if I don't agree with my country's government or their involvement in things that don't concern them.
I do NOT agree with our troops being in Afghanistan, for example, and I think we only get involved in the M.E. because of OIL.

It would work better if we invested in boi fuels instead of getting it from the MidEast. Spain did this and now has blue petroleum. It is the biggest break through in bio fuels in history. It's funny all of these anti war protestors, hide behind a veil of morals and judgment, when they themselves would never put their life on the line to benefit somebody who is in a bad situation, or someone who is in need of defending.
Same thing happened in Vietnam, was the governments idea to send the soldiers there, yet everyone hated the soldiers for doing their duty, and putting their life on the line.

Never forget how those Somalis dragged dead and dying Americans through the dirty streets of Mogadishu. That could have been your father, brother, uncle, cousin, etc, being dragged through the streets as he's dying in torturous pain on television around the world. Never forget that.
