True. The kid died off the exact same jump over the weekend. The police are all over the place there now. That jump is dangerous and it is high. No one is indestructable.
I had some great times there at that quarry and last went about 6 months ago. So pretty but if you dont know what you are doing or take too big of a risk you can die.
Thanks for staying sane without preaching. Of course people should understand the risks of rooftop - it can be horribly dangerous - but thousands and thousands of people have jumped for each single person that has died on it.
Staying safe is the name of the game. Don't be an idiot, and understand the risk before you jump. Personally, I've always stuck to the smaller jumps.
ahh yes..The old rock quarys in southeastern bloomington. Fun but please do remember that G.E. was found guilty of dumping toxic waste in here, the PCB count is through the roof, and the US gov has deemed them super fund sights.
I've personally jumped a legit 100ft, called Durdle Door, in Dorset, UK. Saying that, they are the highest you should really go. Also the world record is 175ft- it's only like concrete if you land on the piss.
That's awesome! I was down there with a couple of friends this weekend but we didn't jump rooftop. We stuck around the lake quarries for the most part and climbed onto one of the high ledges over there.
If this youtube video NgfhvquFboc (found by searching for "Elora Quarry" is the one you're talking about than Rooftop still looks either equal or a bit higher than that. You probably just thought it was a lot bigger because when you're up there about to jump it looks a hell of a lot higher. The 65 foot stat is from a few measurements done with a flexible tape measure and the fall varies a few feet due to rain.
HELL YEAH!!! Thats "roof Top" at Sanders Quarries in Bloomington Indiana. The movie Breaking away was filmed there as well.. btw nice Jump.. i did it once that was enough for me..
