Not to persecute VW fans, but what the hell is the R32 good for? Small, slow, heavy, and expensive. I guess they do sound pretty nice, and they go if it snows, but that certainly would not do it for me.
Sadly I have to agree. May as well save the money and get a GTI if you need a VW hot hatch. but either way you'll get crapped on by the way, way faster, and way cheaper Cobalt SS.
Too bad the cobalt looks like a rental car though.
The cobalt ss is so freaking good only 3.13 round the v international race way is incredable the cobalt ss is a serious bargin infact i love it i really do the caliber srt-4 is absoutley crap compared the cobalt ss gm is capeable of making the best car's in the world chrysler is just crap they dont know what there doing the dodge caliber srt-4 is a horrible car they dont know what there doing oh yes and when ford bought volvo they just screwed it up 1st hand example in this vid.
Can't wait till the next Lighting Lap test. By then they shoulkd have the Camaro in the test. Depedning on which trim level they pick, it could be interesting. I have no doubts that a LS or LT Camaro could dominate the LL1 class. If they manage to get the SS under $30k, then there will be no competition at all. If they can't, the SS should still do well in the LL2 class.
I know they can't because it's no longer in production.. but I'd much rather see an 04 or 05 Neon SRT-4. The Caliber is a disgrace to the SRT-4 name. The old SRT-4 was so much better in almost every way.
lol, they put the srt4 in this competition over the Mazdaspeed3? The Mazdaspeed3 has been spanking that new srt4 and would have made it an even race with that cobalt.
I'm still stuck at the R8 posting a lap time slower than a CTS-V... that's really impressive. Also, The IS-F posting a time that was significantly slower than the M3. I would figure they would be in the same ball park as each other. Is it just that the US spec cars are not the same as Euro spec or Jap spec models?
1. You sure do like to prop up the GTR literally ALL OVER the interent. Do you even own one?
2. Sport Cups are not really an R-compound as they are true street legal road tires.
3. I know you've read that the GTR's Dunlops are also VERY soft and have been measured as soft as some race slicks.
4. GTR's 4th place finish does nothing to diminish the fact that all GM vehicles in the test dominated their class and spanked many cars well above their class.
Corvette C6 Z51= 3:01.2 Viper SRT-10= 3:01.6 997 GT3= 3:01.8 Cadillac CTS-V= 3:04.0 Audi R8= 3:04.6 M3= 3:05.6 997 Turbo= 3:05 Cobalt SS/TC= 3:13.0 EVO X MR= 3:13.3 EVO IX 3:13.5 Lexus IS F 3:14.0 Honda S2000 Type S What a showing for GM.
WTF is up with the 27,000 price of the SRT4???? It looks hidious, it performance sucks!! Not to mention the previous SRT4 performed better was about $8,000 cheaper. Granted it has a whopping 285HP but its useless on a Front drive car without an LSD. I think Dodge botched this one.
i know dude. I own an 04 and i would never get the new one. I wish they had just continued to make the neon srt4 and improved it instead of using the caliber
It was in Lightning lap 2007 and is unchanged. That's why a lot of other cars like the Z06 and Porsches aren't there this year either. Only new or significantly changed models.

Looks like a rental car and the interior looks really cheap. Overall, I'd still take the 350z over it.

Not so much, pick up last years copy with the LL and prove yourself wrong.
The Cobalt beat the MS3 by three seconds, that is a large margin...

Volvos are over priced because they are made better than the other cars. More quality.
