I know, I'm a huge fan of them, but they definitely don't get the same type of recognition now that other bands like Limp Bizkit and Korn have gotten for developing the genre.

I think hes referring to people that arent 311 fans. 311 is still somewhat of an underground band. They are not usually played or recognized by radio stations bc they never have music that sounds like the mainstream shit.
