The song survived 30 years, as did most of the Rainbow legacy. RB is both a crappy, limited player AND a great guitarist. There aren't too many who can do so much with so little.

I was on Jess Lewis's page and noticed RB had added himself as a friend. I used to idolise RB, thought he was the greatest guitar player ever. Had not listened to him for a decade or two so checked out some Deep Purple and Rainbow video clips... Man, what a sobering experience. The guy hardly does anything. It's simple, messy, cranky, yet, apparently, quite effective.

I saw Spotlight Kid live about 30 years ago and was very impressed by the intro. Now I see it for what it is: magic!

It is a Reunion Blues strap but i don't think it is available in any store anywhere now....maybe isodiel has made it on his own
