i think its so stupid they check dialation and effacement before 40 weeks... you rarely hear of it here in australia, all it does it irritates the cervix for no reason... most women will be atleast 1 - 2 cm at 38 + weeks ... so whats the point... unless your having contractions and or your water breaks the baby isnt ready... so leave it alone...

Well they do it because some women go into labor well before their 40th week. I had my 37 week appointment and my doctor asked me if I wanted him to check to see if I was dialated or anything. I told him no. Well, the following morning I went into labor and had my daughter at 10 pm that night. I wish he would've checked me so I could prepare. I was scheduled for induction a week later so I ended up not bringing anything to the hospital..

It just depends...some women carry the same with each child no matter what number pregnancy it is. I am prego with my second and have carried the same way I did with #1, I didn't show any sooner or get any bigger than I did the first time around-for me it's been the exact same as far as size and all. I'm now at 30 weeks. =) Congrats. on your pregnancy too! =)

12 hours after my water broke I was still only 1 cm dilated, and I was using a birthing ball and lots of walking to help progress. lol so 2cm is better than none :) will help if baby is big and healthy!

He'll come when he's ready. My first baby was about 2 weeks late and he weighed 8lbs 15oz.  And I was a very small girl. All baby I guess. LOL. Your belly isn't very big so I'd be surprised if he was bigger then 8lbs. If he comes before you make another video........good luck and I hope all goes well with your labor and delivery :)
