Logo #16 was first used when Turner Home Entertainment (Image Entertainment if on Laserdisc) released a few VHS Tapes of "Adventures from the Book of Virtues" under their PBS for Kids sublabel in 1996 after the Turner Home Entertainment logo fades to black, followed by the "Closed Captioned for the Hearing Impaired" bumper before the PBS logo shows up.
I could watch that all day and not grow tired of it. 1998 up till 2000 was the highlight of my childhood, and PBS as well as PBS Kids made it that way.
DYK? People who have held the round disc in the 1998 ident include Jocelyne Loewen, Jake Martin, Kyle Hebert, Lynne Thigpen, Michelle Ruff, Chris Rock(remember him?), Steve Burns(remember him?), Gong Li(remember her?), and Bacall.
Good point. I thought the person who caught this had a bad camera, but it looks fake because PBS wouldnt have a logo that did nothing. Not even a split...
@nintendaholic90 You think something from the 1990's is OLD?! You don't know the half of it! I'm old enough to remember all the way back to 1:08 to 1:17 seeing it on our black-and-white set and thinking the 'roof' was actually a NET trapping the N-E-T logo! LOL 1:30-1:35 is the one I liked the best because it takes me back to Classic "Sesame Street" and "Electric Company"! Thanks for posting this!
actually on pbs kids he show two because you notice the first one didn't have the e/i ballon thats the 1993 on the one with the ballon is the 1996 one

I like the old CGI PBS logo at 1:53. It was produced for them by PDI and was the first fully computer animated logo produced for them.

A local remodeling company, NETCO, based its logo on the late-1960s NET logo.

That's Humphrey Bogart's widow Lauren Bacall doing the voice-over for the 1998 variations. Though she's old now, she was a *lot* younger than Bogie!
