  • If you don't know how to put gas in a motorcycle you shouldn't be riding one.

  • thanks for the helpful vids. they've been good for a review since i'm (hopefully) getting my first bike next week. took a motorcycle safety course last summer, so this was good to review.

  • you have 93 octane...in CA we only have 91 ;(

  • lol @ the ending

  • no there isnt an argument on gas. Motorcycles need high octane gas. A motorcycle engine has tighter specs then car engines. Anybody who dosnt know this does not need to be riding a bike.

  • Are you Italian? I never seen anyone video hand gestures so much before when they're talking. 1:00 only a dumbass would screw up taking the nozzle out before opening the cap, but a real dumbass would upload the video thinking good enough. God you're baked on some serious bud or something.

  • Is that yamaha

  • steering wheel?

  • I see you get your gas at Wall-mart. All the fuel I have used from them is junk, Both in my car & bike, I get less mileage, and the power is down on both. I wouldn't use it anymore, even if it's cheaper by 10 cent's a gal, Just not worth it too me. What have been your experiences with them & other places ? >>Please do tell. Thank's, yl

  • @ylism Honestly i've never noticed a big difference in MPG. This gas station is just conveniently located near my house.

  • @steelhorseclub My bike & car both get lower power ,and worse gas mileage using Wall-mart fuel. Only use Shell fuel now, Or BP if need be.

  • 4.17 for a pack of cigarettes !!? jessuuss.. 15 bucks out here in NY

  • 12,000th viewer..even though ive watched this a bunch already haha. good video

  • @sk8infreek Thanks! glad you like it.

  • got the same gloves, they saved my hands in the wreck I had last monday!

  • lol just noticed....steelhorseclub.....that shits plastic lol.

not hating just thought it was funny how things have changed w/ motorcycles...not that i know shit about anything cuz im a noob w/ motorcycles still...but still..made me chortle

  • us "super" unleaded only 93? in norway, 95 is the lowes you can get, and we also have 98 and 99 :)

  • @OnlyXfox We're not big on the environment here. Our standards are lower.

  • @steelhorseclub Good for you. I wish we still could get that. We use to get over 100, But that was when gas was 29 to 32 cent's a gallon.

  • @OnlyXfox And our gas prices are a lot lower. If you can manage to find it, 99 octane can cost you around 10 usd.

  • @california145 true -.- it is at almost 2,8 usd per litre

  • @steelhorseclub : Correction... Bikes do not have "steering wheels"...

  • Are these videos serious or do just have a good sense of humour?

  • @hotroddrew To save myself any embarrassment I think I will go with choice 2.

  • Comment removed

  • i ride a 06 r1 and i personally dont sit on the bike while filling up gas. but to each their own.

  • Woah. I did a fucking teleport through time there. From the ninja 250r to fz6r? That doesn't make any sense.. i need to go back and see the others..

  • I misread the title as... how to get your ass on the motorcycle.

  • I love your bro.. Im a new viewer & I have taken the time to watch them all, Old&New. I hope to see more vlogs!

  • loool !!!!!!!! " let me walk up the stairs in the burning building " ur funny mate!!!! XDDDDDDD

  • i love the last part, thats so funny.

  • If you're filling up to the max, does the gas automatically stop when it's full like it does with a car?

  • @RustyEraser no, you have to watch it or it will spill over.

  • @steelhorseclub check, hahahahhahah! yah and have fun washing the bike afterwards.

  • @RustyEraser Actually it does, mines turns off automatically when it reaches a certain level.

  • Unlock the steering wheel lol

  • id say rock 89 ... very true to sit on/keep thebike upright andto those who are sayin this is the dumbest video ever.. trust me this is nothing compared to 'cat woman' type videos you know people who love their animals too muchetc those areeven more riDONKulous *my 2cents

  • sale your bike!!!!!!! if you cant put gas.....

  • you talk like that when getting ready for sex? lol stick it in, but not all the way, then just let it go? wtf!

  • @fergieworld1222 BANG.BANG.BANG. SKEET.SKEET.SKEET. lol good call

  • how long does the tank last on the fz6r? P.s. i will be getting a bike hopfully this summer or next (hope not). Im looking at VLOGGING. Im in Ontario Canada.

  • @xxxjessexxx27xxx I usually get into the mid 50s mpg

  • @steelhorseclub hey quick question, i had high end oil in my bike, well.... i am a new rider and tried checking oil when bike was tilted, reading no oil.. then i mixed the recommended oil with the high end oil, ti my knowledge it's not over fillled, is it bad that it is mixed? and it was only like a little oil, but i was worrying about it. second if it is a little on the "full" side it is super important that i get it drained?

  • @blackslay552 Honestly, the best advice I can give you is to follow the owners manual. It is very specific about what oil to use and how often to change it. If you deviate from what is recommended, you risk damaging the engine.

  • is this a piss take?

  • @noslacksucks

Now, now, junior. No need to be nasty & use inappropriate language for someone your age, as indicated by the level of maturity of your response to my comment that was not even directed at you. Neither your flattery towards me nor your homophobia will accomplish much in the real world. It's nice to live in an electronic, anonymous world where cowards like you can sling insults with no consequence. Have a nice day! :p

  • How to pump gas: put down the camera and pump gas.

  • I live in NJ and never had to pump my own gas, this video is helpful. You people are retards, you clicked on the video knowing what it was about..

  • This should be really titled 'how ti get gas [IN] a motorcycle'. You're a native speaker, i don't know why you would think of it. A glance at the title and it reads like you're giving hints about how one can attain better mpg performance........seriously.

  • This video is an epic fail. You don't even know what to do with your keys! WTH! You are a joke. V-loggers? Dumb.

  • I want to punch you so bad for being so retarded that you and other people like you don't know how to get gas. Don't forget to keep breathing douchebag.

  • HEY!! Thats at a walmart gas station....

  • @SwiftCB7 BOYCOT WALMART! if you dont know how shitty of a company theyare look it up (you gotta be pretty terrible to get kicked out of europe...and im pretty sure it wasnt just an 'anti-american' type reasoning...like i said look it up)

  • After all this time & you still have it wrong. Who taught you this "proper technique"?

One, never sit on the bike while filling fuel tank. If engine is hot & you spill gas it can catch fire & you are toast! Two, always fill with bike on side stand so you DO NOT top up the tank too far. Gasoline needs room to breath. Only fill to bottom edge of filler cap otherwise you will be blowing fumes & fuel out of the overflow on a hot day. Always have paper towels under fuel spout to catch drips.

  • @graemelockieable Are you kidding? I don't even get off my bike to get gas, EVER! Only a fucking pussy would worry about the fuel igniting while filling up. Fuck you faggot.

  • unlock the steering wheel lol

  • WOW!! I thought this video was going to be a joke or something. Why would somebody really make a video of this?

  • @noslacksucks you would be surprised. The process is more complicated than it might seem.

  • @steelhorseclub If you think that filling up your tank is complicated, then stop wasting my oxygen! In other words stop breathing (in case you didn't catch what I meant)

  • well i thought it was good for people wanting to learn about stuff before they buy a bike some people dont know. also you are right you should use 93 octane these bikes have very high compression sometimes into the 13:1 range and its just a cost effective insurance for your bike.

  • wow hahaha the sing in ur school its hilarius

  • and another thing, your worried about getting fuel on your paint yet you let that big fk off wad of keys drag accros it... think what them keys do to your tripple clamp also.. NOOB

  • im sorry your vids may be detailed and what not but srs who the fk needs instructions on how to fill up with fuel...

  • @09R1PILOT People have questions about the types of fuel to use, whether to stand the bike upright, how much gas to fill, etc..

  • @steelhorseclub they would be better of getting there advice of someone who has half a clue tho.. i think you will find sitting on your bike while filling up is not an advised thing to do ;-)

  • @steelhorseclub don't pay attention to him haha, these vids help noob bikers like me lol. thanks steel

  • @09R1PILOT 5,951 viewers do... besides the more details covered means less fuck-ups by new riders which in turn mean more safety on the road for u too. you cant hate people who's aim is to inform.

  • @09R1PILOT Begginers. DUH!!

  • @09R1PILOT do you have a bike???? didn't think so. i just got mine a mounth ago, and i looked up vids form starting to useing kick stand, over exzagerating a lil bit but still, every hting helps, and intill you get a bike you won't understand.

  • @blackslay552 ok retard dont really wanna get into a argument with you over a vid about filling up a bike with fuel but heres a little lesson. 1 Dont sit on the bike when filling up (look it up if you dont beleve me)

2 if you have a nice bike that you wanna take care of have your ignition key on its own, not on a dirty big keyring that will destroy your paint, your tripple clamp and what ever else it will come into contact with along the way.

  • how much fuel do you fill in ? before reserve, i fill 13 L only ..

  • lmao Vee loggers

  • nice gettin gas didnt seem like u put much in and lol about fire sign

  • Wait wait wait... so the last time you had to fill up was a year ago?

WOW! I knew gas for a mobike was amazing but HOLY CRAP!!

  • @NinjaOnANinja HA, not quite. But I am still impressed at the fuel range of a motorcycle.

  • @steelhorseclub I joined the fan club btw.

  • Oh For fucks sakes spit it out !

  • what camera do you have and how do you get it to stay in your helmet.

  • SHC do you have a video on braking? Example when you are riding on a hill side and the road is steep, you are going down and you a behind a car moving quite slow. Do you apply front or rear brakes. Btw could you make a video on proper way on overtaking on a single lane and double lane road. In my country alot of bikers overtakes and cuts in many times I almost bump into them.

  • @AramisDeVannes Always use both brakes. ALWAYS. Really good idea for videos, i'll see what I can do. Btw good call, its a yamaha fz6r.

  • Did you change bike or something? Thought suppose to be red colour

  • @AramisDeVannes Ha, yep I got a new one.

  • @steelhorseclub Nice bike much better than the old one but looks bigger. Handling would be much different than the old bike so ride carefully. I'm not good at bike models but my guess is a yamaha? judging from the logo on the gas tank. How about suzuki 650 rode by the ghost rider that one also looks cool.

  • i didnt see you paying???

  • @santi15ful probably used his card

  • Well it really depnds on the bike for the Octane rating. Put at least what they tell you in... no point in going over, only advantage you may have is quietness. Octane is "anti-knocking" compound.

  • How does prepaying work?

I mean, you don't knpw how much gas you need exactly to fill the tank up.

Could you explain that to me?

  • @jakeroswell After you get used to your vehicle you will know what it will take to fill up. Plus if you over pay you can always go back and get your change.

  • @jakeroswell Holy crap, theres palces where you pay after?

  • @fatidus Yeah, in germany you get your gas and then you go and pay for it. That is the usual way here.

  • how do kno when its full so that u dont over fill it?

  • @spargus18 ha, if you over fill it you will be covered in gas. You can look at it and tell.

  • you breath very havy in both videos sorry but i hate people who breath loud .

well what ever nice video :D

  • One thing i do before i place to nozzle in my tank is, let the nozzle down and let the left over gas drip out. You will be surprised how much has was in there and could have been all over your bike.

  • $2.65 a gallon? hrmmm seems a lot cheaper in California. With our $3.02+ a gallon for 87

  • Whaaat? 93 octane? They only sell 95, 98 and 99 here in Finland...

  • steering wheel?

    dude common!

  • the funny thing is that I have the exact keychain, the Kenneth Cole one. LOL

  • Fuel grade has nothing to do with how clean or "good" the gas is. The higher the octane rating, the higher the temperature the gas burns at. So if you have a care or bike that requires premium fuel, it needs a fuel that burns at a higher temperature. Vehicles that require regular fuel need a fuel that burns at a lower temperature. Fill your car or bike with what it's supposed to be filled with for max performance.

  • what bike is this?

  • Yamaha fz6r

  • i dont agree with filling the bike up while sitting on it for safety reasons. i always fill up off the bike, and have even checked after filling up by holding it vertical. theres really not much difference in how much you can get in the tank IMO. just my opinion...but i wouldnt want anything happening and fuel spilling all over me!

as for the grade of gas...depends on engine, but lowest octane you can run. lower octane burns easier, a higher octane will not burn as cleanly.

  • yea my 250 has a gas leak and it was leaking before i got it and just found it and there is a bunch of rough paint where it was leaking and going over so yea all bad

  • I remember the first video and thought about unsubscribing because of it

  • HA, I'm glad you didn't.

  • gay

  • Gotta love Wal-Mart gas!

  • i wish this crap state had 93 octane lol. i hate california minus being able to split lanes lol

  • Trust me, I would give it up to be able to lane split any day of the week.

  • @steelhorseclub hahaha nice vid i love the randomness at the end

  • If your able to drive a motorcycle you should be able to pump gas without a how to video!!!!

  • @dlee9900 As sad as it is I've never had to pump my own gas. Living in Oregon we have no self serve and the only time I've been able to pump my own gas was when visiting family in California and once during the driver education course.

  • Octane rating is based purely on Ping resistance... the more ping you have the shittier the fuel is burning and atomizing.... so of course the higher octane on our bikes will be better... and definitely do not wanna spill gas bro...

  • mistake, forgot to take or cancel receipt.

  • use the octane rating that is specified?

  • lol thats ULM for you hahaha

  • as long as you dont hear engine knocking, the fuel type doesnt matter. i think it's funny how many people dont know how to get gas on a bike. I still dont know what the confusion is...

  • Check your owners manual and see what octane the bike needs. You may be surprised. If you use a lower octane and you don't get "pinging" your bike is probably fine with it. It's not worth spending the extra money for something you don't need. As for "paying first", find a gas station where you don't pay first. Fill up and just leave. LOL

  • At my gas station you just get off the bike, tell the gal how much you want, and she does the rest ;-)

  • Most states have self-serve gas stations. I wish someone else would pump my gas.

  • Oregon every gas station well that ive been to is full service...i think its like a state law but idk.

  • Yeah, ashfoot said that it was a law to help keep the jobless numbers down.

  • I get off the bike to fillup. I don't completely trust the pump to cutoff when its full. It would suck to get a crotch full of gasoline. LOL

  • On my bike you can see down into the tank, so I am able to eye it pretty well.

  • WHAT! did i see that sign say$ 4.17 for a pack of newports, damn there like 7 something here in WI. why would you want to stop smoking if its so cheap there. LOL

  • HA, lol. Maybe so.

  • super unleaded just makes sense, if your engine is made for it (it doesn't burn any better, it's just more resistand against engine knocking)or if you set up an earlier ignition point (then you can get more power from the engine-if it's not too early of course).

It has to be unleaded though if you've got a catalyst, because the lead is covering the metal surface of the cat.

  • I am running my Hornet on 95 octane rating fuel, and I drive a scooter also on 95.

Here, we don't even have 91, not to speak of 89 or 87.

This is a rating completely unknown in Europe.

Besides, in Europe, your first fill up your tank, and you pay afterwards.

And one other thing - you should not sit on your bike while filling it up. There should be a sign on your gas station. All Shell stations here have such a sign.

  • i think it's just one of those sue hazard signs... + what if you decide to back up for your 10¢ pencil you left in the office... or a picture of your family eh eh?

Either way in most buildings when a fire alarm goes off the elevators are automatically disabled (unless you have the fire key). Yah that's right I tried at 4:30 in the morning on the 15th floor of a marriott hotel. lol & Yes I have seen firefighters use the elevator during a fire. Most buildings are pretty strong.

  • :) Oh Man. That sooo reminded me how I was nervous to fill my bike for 1st time. I never did that before and there was no one to show me, even at the driving lessons. I was just hoping i will not make something stupid, like forgetting to pay, and attempt to leave, or somethin like that. Lickily, only embarassment was, that I realized, that I was unable to get my card off the wallet with my glowes on. :)

  • How much to fill your tank? Mine cost the GBP equivalent of $29.74 yesterday, daylight robbery at the pumps..

  • @Thunderbrat666 It costs me about seven or eight dollars.

  • Yeah, I gotta say the sequel isn't as good as the original hahah =)

  • @billmaa Yeah, I know. I wanted to do something more "grand". But I ended up just doing something simple to be more instructional to people.

  • "put it in and just let it go" *whistles* " LOL! :) Seriously tho, It's excatly how I do it, except I don't lean forward to avoid inhaling the fumes; usually I recline my back a little. looks weird to anybody seing me, but f**k'em it's my lungs :) Here in europe we use unleaded '95 at least and '98 for high-rev inline-four bikes, as their compression ratio and injectors require high-octane gas.

  • @M3anMachin3 I actually do the same thing. For the sake of the video I had to go through it.

  • lol ,walk up the stairs. i know universities and colleges have such confidence in their participators lol.

i have the exact same bike as u, and when i first filled it i didn't understand the whole inside gas cap concept thing so i ended up dowsing the outside of my gas tank (twice) and only filling the bike half way. ya, not very smooth. good vid though, wish i'd seen it before my first fillup.

  • Unlock the steering wheel like so...lol.

  • super just makes my bike run hotter i like the mid grade great vid

  • Was it two dollars? ;P :P

  • @woodenchairs Ha, seven actually. I have learned to wait to get gas when I need it.

  • Here we just fill up what we need, then go and pay for however much we used. Although theres a card payment thing now but i never use it.

  • @bfmv580 Most gas stations around here do not let people do that because of people driving off without paying.

  • It is possible you may have to go up to flee the fire.

Your how to get gas video has been very helpfull. Thankyou! XD

  • I have found that 'Super' gives about 15% more mileage on a tank, both in my bike and my car. On the other hand, it's also +15% more expensive... :O)

  • Man all these other places have 93 octane has thats so awesome lol here in AZ it only goes up to 91...

  • lol, well maybe the university wants you to seek shelter from the fire in the basement,,,lol

  • Thx for the hint I always fill her up while standing...

    Man that sign...ahaha!!!

I remember at my school there was a sign to promote exercice that said something like: stay active...take the stairs...not the elevator...but there were NO elevators in the school!!!

Good vid it'll certainly help new bikers!

  • Finally someone gets it right! ;D

  • Does your Fz6R really require 91 octane? My FJR requires only 'regular' 87. There is no advantage to using a higher octane gas than your engine requires. None whatsoever.

  • @JimNtexas I feel like we have had this discussion before? lol. I seen some pretty convincing evidence to the contrary.

  • @steelhorseclub -

I can't sleep knowing that someone on the internet is wrong.

  • super, always. or go ultra if ur at shell or sunoco or whatever haha

  • lol and it only tooma year to learn....aweosme. jk nice video steel. keep it up

  • So THATs how you do it! Well I'll be damned!

  • LMAO I remember that vid. I seen a kid park too close to the gas island thingy. He caught his foot on the edge and layed the bike into the gas pump. I guess he was so embarrassed he just got up and left without getting gas.

  • @Itsreload I actually almost fell over once. I went to get of the bike and I had forgotten the kickstand.lol

  • depending on the engine usually higher compression rate like 10:1 needs 91+. most of the morden bike is about 10:1 so 91+ would be necessary.

  • it doesn't need the 91+. My 2009 Kawasaki Ninja 250R has a compression rate of 11.6:1 and they recommend using regular unleaded gas 87. It can damage the engine if you use 91+ fuel because of pre detination. The 91+ fuel burns easyer and sometimes may ignite before its supposed to while being compressed. But with the sport bikes its usually not a problem so its free to take whatever gas you want. In a car however with lower compression its just a waste of money and wear and tear

  • @PaulRancourt18 No Paul, youve got that backwards. The higher grade fuel burns slower and keeps detonation from happening. The reason your bike doesnt need the higher grade fuel is because its designed to run on lower grade. Usually because timing is taken out but if you were to advance the timing or increase the compression ratio you would need a higher grade fuel.

  • @woodenchairs - I'm bookmarking this comment.

    Woodenchairs is right about something!

  • @JimNtexas I do actually disagree with u on premium being totally useless. It has been proven to increase mileage, it does have superior cleaners mixed in, and it will avoid you losing any performance because of outside temp, deposits, or elevation causing your computer to pull timing because it senses detonation because of any of these things.

  • @woodenchairs ahh I see... I knew I had the right facts... just put them in the wrong order! :P Thanks.

And BTW, I had Taco Bell for the first time ever today! It was good I had just practically a plain taco but it was good! I drank a bit of hot sauce straight from the packet :P its not that hot... its good! :) Amazing tacos! :O

  • @PaulRancourt18 ok, when I was typing that I was thinking in terms of car engines but yea motorcycle engines can tolerate lower octane gas because the small pistons. burning speed is the same no matter higher or lower octane, its the detonation under pressure that makes it different. higher octane tend to harder to detonate under pressure so the mixed gas would burn when the spark plugs want it to. my CBR600rr is about 12.3:1 so 91+ is recommended.

  • @sunnyjason thanks for replying, woodenchairs clarified it too so it makes sense. I was thinking something totally different :P

  • what was the other vid? i don't remember it.

  • super unleaded is the best if you ride alot. if your bike is going to sit it's bad. will gum up carbs. trust me i know. that's why i'm not riding now.

  • @tdad71302 get some seafoam awesome stuff prevents gum up i use it every other fuel change

  • @67kneil seafoam is good stuff.

  • @sunnyjason Yes seafoam is good, as is Lucas fuel treatment. There is also a product called Sta-bil that works good if your machine is going to sit for a while.
