Give it time. The song is timeless. One of the best guitar licks in all of music. A hook that pulls you in and won't let go. And Smith's lyrics are pure poetry and surely stand alone, even without the music. It's just gravy that the music is addictive too.

just listened to AFI for first time. they aren't like the cure. there cover of this has no feeling but it sounds tight. i listened to their amazon clips of songs and i liked very few. they sound like punk style of green day and not punk sound associated with the 70's. i can name very few rock bands i like that started in the 90's. rusted root and live are a few good bands from the 90's. personally i'll pass on AFI. the cure on the otherhand are fantastic when boris is drumming. jason is average.

@Narcotika75 ich war damals 18 und mit meinem freund dort.es war ja auch der heisseste tag im jahr.wir waren schon viele stunden vorher da und dann kamen die glatzen.wir sind dann alle über den zaun.(hätte eigentlich keine eitrittskarte gebraucht)da kam ein reisebus aus dem "westen" und ist in die leute reingefahren.ist natürlich keiner zu schaden gekommen aber dadurch haben wir es dann über den zaun geschafft.

Deffinately! I can kind of relate: when I was 15, the first ever pop concert I saw was the Minneapolis band- The Suburbs, in June 1986. Then that August 16th '86, the second ever band I saw was The Cure, at Northrup Auditorium- on the University of Minnesota campus, with the my best friend and older sister. That Cure concert, changed my musical life forever! I'm still the exactly the same obsessed Curehead today, as I was after I walked out of that concert in 1986. The Cure are TOPS, for me!!!
